This place gets pretty busy on the weekends but there's always staff ready to help, and they never act "too busy". They will drop whatever they're doing to help a customer and that's hard to come by. I come to PetSmart about once a month, sometimes more. I had one bad experience with PetSmart Corporate when I ordered something online and the order somehow went to a store a few hours down south. The staff at the Visalia PetSmart was SO HELPFUL! They told me to call the store the order accidentally went to. The staff at that store was very helpful as well and they told me their system was down and they were unable to cancel the order, but they gave me the number for the corporate office and told me they should be able to help. Worst experience ever. It was a Friday afternoon, around 5pm but someone answered the phone. I didn't get her name but if I did I would have been sure to make a complaint. This woman was so rude! When I told her what happened she told me I had called the wrong number and I needed to call the store the order had gone to. I explained that I had and she was talking to me like I was taking up her time. This is her job, I should be a priority and not a nuisance. And I wasn't even asking for a lot, I asked for her to cancel the order and she kept coming up with excuses after excuses to not do that. She finally decided that I would just have to wait until the store down south's system was up again. She ended up hanging up on ME after I had told her I didn't think that was a good idea. She said something like "have a good day" and just ended the call. I went back into the store (understandably) angry. I let the woman who was helping us inside the store know what had happened and how upset I was. I told her I would just purchase the item again in store and figure the rest out later. The item I wanted ended up getting discounted and the assured me it would be taken care of. Sure enough, everything ended up ok! I was so appreciative of the Visalia PetSmart staff. They are incredibly friendly and nice. I will always continue to work with PetSmart.

I went to go take my cat but prior to take them. I made an appointment and I called and they said that they would be able to take in my cats, even if they had fleas but Taylor, the receptionist or the cat groomer made us waste our time and said that they couldn't take the cat in because unfortunately she had fleas so why tell the person on the phone that they can take them in and then make us drive 30 miles for no reason for them to just turn us away and then plus to add on top of it. She had a snobby attitude and she was very racist and a snob when I handed her my papers for my cats rabies shots documents she threw the paper at me very rude and disrespectful.

Ruffles is a small but mighty rescue group.. They take in medically needy dogs that otherwise would…read moreprobably have nowhere to go. I adopted a dog from them in 2013. He is a pitbull who was "owned" by a homeless man and was beaten by him regularly. He was severely underweight and deemed dog aggressive by the animal shelter. Ruffles nursed him back to health and even took him to an animal behaviorist to assess his needs. He is now a happy, well-adjusted pup who lives with 2 other dogs and a cat. He even passed the Canine Good Citizen test. A year later we adopted another Ruffles rescue dog who was formerly a stray in Compton. She had also suffered abuse but was socialized and loved by Ruffles until we adopted her. She is currently a part of our pack without any issues. I cannot recommend Ruffles highly enough. The owner, Christina, has very high standards and always does right by her animals. I still support this rescue and donate to it often. Their mission is a lofty one and they never give up on any dog.
