Sandra was honestly amazing with my dog, Benji. He's pretty shy and nervous around new people, so grooming is usually not his favorite thing. Benji went to Sandra a few times, and each visit just got better. From the moment they met, she was so patient and gentle with him, and he warmed up to her way quicker than I expected. You could tell she truly cared and wasn't rushing him or forcing anything. When I picked him up, he always looked great and seemed comfortable. I was really bummed to find out she's no longer there. Once you find someone your dog trusts, it means everything. I'm really hoping Benji can find that same kind of comfort and connection again. read more

My dog has only been to groomers for a nail trim. I took her to Petsmart for just that but decided to get the package with a bath. I was worried how she'd react. The groomers treated her with care, (she's 12). They were very careful and understood her. They said she did very well. I'm very happy with the groomers at Petsmart. read more

My 2 Australian shepherds were so clean and fresh. They are inside/outside dogs and get very sandy. I can never get it all out. Sierra even bathed them twice. And there ears... all I can say is WOW. This was our first visit and I will be going back on a regular basis. Sierra definitely can do a much better job than I can do in the bath tub at home. You could tell when I picked them up how comfortable they were. And they felt good. All the girls were very helpful and so kind. Just remember to bring your rabies shot record if it is your first visit. Not sure why this PetSmart is rated so low? The manager, staff and store are great! Every visit so far has been exceptional with amazing customer service. Any question that I've asked has been answered with nothing but courtesy and helpfulness. The manager Zeke was extremely accommodating when they didn't have the item I needed and made sure we left the store happy. I recently used their grooming services as well and the staff was so sweet to my puppy and helped calm him down while we left him for a bath. Because of the staff my wife and I make it a point to buy as many of our supplies here. read more

I'm a valued costumer and spend lots of money here at this local PetSmart. I have literally spend 700$ on one trip going here before. But recently I've encountered one your employees being highly disrespectful and rude with attitude. I've never seen her here really, but I was going in to get a fish since I had already got a tank and she was rudely asking me questions about everything, and with a rude look. After I went to scope out the fish, she quickly went to go turn the lights off and said they aren't selling fish anymore because they were low staff.I have literally bought a fish when there was 1 person working in sight(If she wasn't talking to me about all that nonsense I would have been able to get what I wanted ) I'm very upset and probably won't shop here again because of one employee. I hate the energy around her and that she gives off to other people. I didn't check what her name was but She's the lady with red haired dyed tips. I hope you guys do something about this cause I love this pet smart because it's very local and usually all the people are very kind and welcoming even with my pets. read more

I have always enjoyed coming into this PetSmart, they always have great selections on food, toys, treats, etc. I recently began using their grooming services. I was leery and nervous at first because my dog has never been groomed or really handled by anyone else but myself. Both times that I have taken my dog in I have scheduled appointments with Caitlin and both times I have been more than happy with the results! Caitlin is WONDERFUL with my girl, who tends to be shy at first and a little afraid of things. Every time I go in to pick up my dog she is always so excited and looks, and smells, AMAZING! Plus, they always seem to have coupons to use for the grooming services! I can't recommend the grooming services and Caitlin enough. read more

I have usually had great customer service here but tonight was exceptional. I appreciate the Manager who help with my situation and Cheyenne who waited an extra hour after she got off work to make sure my pick up of our Geiko Mowchi was effortless. Overpriced, staff is lax, they charge you for the original price for sale items. It's a shame there isn't a Petco in Porterville.

Every time I've shopped at PetSmart, I've never had a bad experience. The employees are nice and greet you when you come in, if they are not busy at the registers with other customers! I've adopted a cat from PetSmart and received nothing but the best treatment and revived the best coupons! I've also used PetSmart's grooming services for my cat, yes my cat! The times she's went, she's come back looking clean and beautiful with no bad experiences. I've recently adopted a German Shepard, from another facility, and will be taking him to PetSmart for grooming. I know they'll take good care of him. Seeing as Porterville doesn't have the best places to shop, especially for our pets needs, really can't complain. read more

At the fish department, an associate was helping a customer and she called for another associate to take over her so she can take over another associate. The new associate comes and helps only one customer and leaves without helping the rest. A group of us just stood there waiting to be helped, and asked the cashier, which appeared to now be the only associate in the store, for help in the fish area.. After a long 20min wait an associate comes to the rescue, but only after helping the newly arrived customers and helping me last. read more

Don't take your dogs to get groomed!! Our German Shepherd has been going for months, haven't had issues until recently. The last time we took him he came back with his paws still wet and they said he "moved around" too much...that was a first as he's been getting groomed for 3 years now. Went today to drop him off for his appointment, and the ladies there tried saying they told us to only take him during the week because he's "aggressive" towards smaller dogs. Which was a lie, they never said that. My dog barks only if other dogs bark at him so i felt discriminated due to his size. I'm sure they don't say anything to those smaller dogs owners. Also, they tried saying his rabies are overdue when we showed proof the last time we were there that he was up to date. Sounded like they wanted to be lazy and cancel their last appointment for the day. Never again, very unprofessional (lady with dreadlocks) and the 2 others. read more

This place has the most rude employees. Went in to purchase kitten food. Found a bag that I thought was a great deal. After my purchase I looked at my receipt because I thought it was a bit much. I went back into the store and informed the employees that I was charged $10's more then price that was displayed. The cashier that was helping me chuckled and told me "oh no that's the right price for this food." I asked if someone can do a price check. Rudely the cashier called for assistance. They had a whole row of food lined up in the wrong price. Instead of price matching it for their fault. They made me feel inconvenienced and like they didn't even care. Never coming back. I am sticking to PETCO. The people at PETCO are much friendlier and helpful. read more

I am so disappointed in this store! At Christmas they offered photos with Santa for your pets. My friend and I took our dogs and were excited by the pictures. We were told that they would be e-mailed to us in 3 to 5 days. The pictures never arrived and when we spoke to the manager he was extremely dismissive and did nothing to help us find out how to access the photos. I realize this was a free service, but it was offered by the store and to not follow through is nothing short of a scam. I have spent thousanda of dollars at PetSmart in the past but that has ended. I have found a local groomer and now order supplies through Chewy. They actually seem to appreciate my business and follow through on promises. read more

While I understand the stores policy regarding students and their backpacks being in the store, after my granddaughter backpack was stolen the staff was rude and condescending when she inquired if anyone might have seen who took her back pack. Manager, Allen, was no help when asked if there was any type of surveillance. I will never shop there again and will spread the word as far and wide as I can. read more

Hmm. Older female employee arguing with me about leaving my dogs in truck on a 72 degree pleasant day in shade with all 4 windows cracked and water bowls in front and back seats. I was in store for 5 minutes. Could understand if it was 90 with closed windows. She was trying to tell me it was hot. I walk out after my purchase (2 safety items for the dogs) and check the truck thermometer which reads 74. Not a single one of my 3 dogs is even panting. Hardly a temp to get snippy with a customer over and she was walking around the store but never even greeted me, didn't offer to help me find what I was looking for to get me out of there faster either. It was dead in the store too so that's not an excuse. Also very picked over stock in store and was unable to find the glow in the dark safety harness I was looking for. Reluctantly bought a collar instead but I'll probably return it. I'll go to pet sense in Tulare from now on. Way friendlier more helpful staff and better merch. read more
