The level of service from Pawprints has enabled us to enjoy vacations relatively guilt-free for the past couple of years. Mijo and Chica tried everything to get us to take them with us ... When it was deceided they had to stay back we had to think of options for them. Board them, take the to L.A. to stay with family or call ... PAW PRINTS...... "Your peace of mind and trust in PawPrints is important. Our staff is carefully hand picked to ensure you have one of the finest pet sitters in your area. Each one is licensed by the City of San Diego, carries full liability insurance and is certified in pet first aid by the American Red Cross" They sounded professional and we liked their promise to the consumer so we gave them a call. We had looked into boarding ,but we hated uprooting the babies from the home they love so much anway and the cost was crazy. We needed somebody to pick the mail up, and water the plants as everything is potted. PAWPRINTS does all and more these things for the cost of visiting dogs. We thought once a day at $21 would be fine at first but then deceided for a few dollars more it would be far more benefical for our dogs. I work from home so not having somebody there all day with would be a big adjustment to the routine. So for $39 a day we had the plants watered, dogs walked,fed and played with and the mail checked. The dogs use a peepee pad to relieve themselves and Kristin not only cleaned up the soiled pads and floor she took the soiled pads out to the the can in the alley verses the wastbasket in the kitchen. Her initiative, not our request. Having a professional come to do things really is so beneficial. She did things we didn't even think about asking her to do. We met KRISTIN with the babies a couple days before we left and she loved them and they loved her and best of all... we got back and the dogs were happy, the plants were happy, WE were happy! There is only one person in all of San Diego who we would trust with our baby girl and that's Lori from Pawprints. Lori has been petsitting for our wheaten terrier for almost 5 years and does an absolutely outstanding job. Originally Lori would come 3 times a day, but as our dog got older, she also started doing overnights in our house. She takes the best care of our doggy and leaves the house in perfect condition. She's awesome about bringing in the mail and turning off and on the lights. We're finally able to relax when we go out of town because we know our baby is in great hands. When my wife and I first moved to San Diego, we'd moved from a town across the country where we had a friend who was a professional petsitter. Diana gave me the peace of mind I needed when my husband and I would travel on weekends, leaving our two cats at home. She would not only feed and play with them, but she would make them feel comfortable. I have been SO happy with PawPrints! I called Diana at the last minute before a trip because my friend bailed on me and she returned my calls quickly. She set me up with a pet-sitter in my neighborhood who has been just wonderful. Since that trip I have used her several more times! My 2 cats are always very well taken care of and my house is always in great condition when I get home. She always leaves a note about how the cats were when I was gone. First off...I've never left my babies under the care of strangers, so I was extremely nervous about finding a service while I traveled out of state for a funeral. Luckily I came across the website for PawPrints! Not only was it well put together, but all services and costs were right there in plain text. Not only that, there was a link to profiles of all sitters. Background and qualifications included. I used the email link to contact owner Lori. She responded almost immediately. Within a couple of days she had a sitter lined up for me. The sitter (Kathy) contacted me for my complimentary "get to know you" meeting. Upon meeting her I went from feeling anxious to a sense of peace that my kids would be well looked after. Kathy is a treasure! I got texts each day letting me know everyone was happy and eating well - even my 18 year old cat, Murphy, who sleeps 23 hours a day and immediately hides whenever anyone comes to the door. Kathy has some kind of magic touch. I know this has been a long review, but I wanted to emphasize that from the owner, the website, to the sitter, this organization is beyond comparison. I recently reached out to PawPrints as my husband and I were going to be away for a couple of weeks and we needed someone to look in on our cat. We boarded her once, the establishment was nice, however for my cat it was a nightmare. After that we decided to do our best to keep her at home while we are away. Cameron was super thorough during the first meeting and gave me real confidence that our pet would be well cared for. While we were away we got regular updates on how she was doing along with photos. My partner and I recently went on a three week trip to Europe. We have never left our cat alone for so long and to add a complication she recently became an indoor-outdoor cat Abby and there was no way she was going to suffer through being made to remain indoors for three weeks. Our plans to have our relatives keep an eye on our cat fell through and two days before the trip I called PawPrints. Diana assured me it was no problem depsite the short-notice and that our cat would be in good hands. Diana was right, Abby was in great hands. Abby warmed up to Diana instantly when they met. During trip Diana updated me as often as requested and even sent a video of Abby. Toward the end of the trip there was a problem with our electronic cat flap and Abby got locked out went a MIA, but Diana came to the rescue and went out of her way to make sure Abby was located and safe, secure and well cared for in the house until we came back. I have 4 purry furry cats aging from 6 to 16 years old. I hate going away because I always think my babies are going to fall victim to something horrible and I won't be there for them. They all have different personalities and needs that require a personal touch. My youngest has to play a while each day or she will try to turn my nervous and timid Calico Manx into a confetti colored chew toy. Bunny, the Manx, has issues with her stomach and has a special diet. When she is spooked she pees, that is something I want checked by someone knowledgeable about cats. My boy cat had kidney surgery last summer and it's necessary to make sure he isn't having pain or appetite issues. Our eldest cat conscripts the others into shenanigans and this often means we come home to find that she has discovered a food we didn't know was available and made it into a buffet. She is small, looks innocent, but is wily with a plan in the works every moment. These are the reasons I can't just drop and go, I need to know they are cared for or I can't enjoy my time away. I am afraid they will change the locks and rule the roost if we don't feed them routinely. I can't take the chance the freeloaders won't get into trouble if left alone or to the care of someone who just comes by to fill their dishes. Lori gave me the best price quote on Thumbtack and had a great conversation with me via messages making my selection easy. She arrived at our home and met with my husband and furries to go over our routine and meet each of our cats a few days before we left. She was well loved by our more social kitties and my husband said she had great vibes. Good vibes is important to me because I want someone who is compassionate taking care of my babies. While we were away Lori came 3 times a day to feed, play, and clean their box. After every visit she sent me a photo and a status update. She replied promptly when I had comments or questions leaving me feeling like everything was under control. It meant everything to me to hear her tell me what she had experienced in each visit because she was caring for what is most important in my life: my family. When I arrived home there was a note from her with a kind message about her enjoyment in caring for my cats, saying how beautiful and sweet they are (they had her fooled because she didn't mention sly and devious). Our big Angora was so soft when we came home I was convinced she had spent most of her visits petting him. He confirmed this suspicion when he kept by the door waiting for her to return rather than joining me for Mommytime. The cost of our sitting and care was cheap in my opinion. It was obvious that Lori and Pawprints aren't trying to take advantage of our need for a sitter by trying to nickel and dime us. Some of the quotes I received for caring for my cats was astronomical for 3 days, one was over $400 for 9 visits. Our entire weekend of Lori's incredible care cost us only $175. Before we moved we had a fantastic sitter who was comparable in care fees and care quality we just received from Pawprints. We are truly blessed to have found Lori, as we were to find Ashley previously. I will be using Pawprints service in the future and I feel so much more confident to go places knowing Lori will be caring for my babies. read more

I have been using the service for months and months and months and I mean it when I say that they have saved my marriage! This is the deal; my husband is NOT a cat person. However when he asked me to marry him he was entering into a package deal, me and my cat! Since moving to SD my boyfriend and I use their services a lot when we visit family in Northern CA. They do a great job! The kids are happy, water is full, litter box is clean and I can tell they have been in good hands. One of my cats needs meds & Kathy even knew one of the medications she was on. Kristin claims that she did in fact come to the apartment every other day (like we agreed) and that she performed all her responsibilities for Affinity. The tone of her message seems sincere, and I get the feeling that Kristin is genuinely trying to make things right. A lot of businesses don't bother with that, so PawPrints goes up a star for this courtesy. Ultimately, though, I will never know what actually happened - I wasn't there. My fiance and I have 4 backyard bantam Chickens and a CA Desert Tortoise at our home in North Park. We were out of town and left our brood entrusted to Diana. She is every bit the professional and regularly provided us updates on how our pets were doing. Not to mention that she also watered our vegetable gardens. She also spent extra time with our two youngest girls, (only 4 mo.old) to ensure that they were handled daily to keep them tame and used to human interaction. I have been using Kristin at PawPrints for 3 years now to take care of my two cats. She is great! Not only does she take care of the cats, she also takes care of our place. She will bring in the mail, water the plants, take out the garbage, move your car, etc. She'll even ask for emergency information such as how to turn off the main water at your house. Full service! She is always available via email, and tends to respond to enquiries within an hour or two. She leaves you a fairly detailed note about what she did when she was there, and how the cat's behavior/mood was. PawPrint's prices are reasonable for taking care of your pets, as well as your home.
