Save your money and use Rover. Cheaper and more employee options. It's a great idea in theory but there is one main employee and things are not done to my standards especially for the price and overnights. I always spend hours fixing all the missed items and my animals did not get the attention they deserved. Drop ins always felt rushed and over nights did not mean more time caring for the dogs and cats. I have cameras and there's no way to be in and out so quickly if they had done what was on the list. Tried to speak with Kara about the extra service charges and paid $1200 for one week because I have foster cats. This entails scooping two extra litter boxes. Also the employee has broken two of my vacuums and all these issues were never communicated to me even though I would text every day. We used Kara Cares and her teammate, Leticia, this past week to cover our two cats while we traveled to Atlanta for a memorial service. We've recently moved to Santa Barbara and our cats are mostly adjusted, but not completely. Leticia came to met the cats and asked all the right questions about each cat before the trip. Absolutely loves Kara Cares! We had a week long vacation and could not take our 9yr old GS, Keisle. I scheduled an appointment for a meet and greet. Kara and Angela (a sitter) came to meet the boys. They got to know our boys and us before any commitment, by either one of us, was made. We felt more than comfortable and we scheduled 2 visits. The first was a one time visit and then a 6, turned to 7, day vacation visit. We were sent pics (requested) every visit and the communication was excellent. Due to flight delays we had to ask for an extra day and it was taken care of. I hired Kara's team for cat and house sitting while I was away on a trip. My cat sitter Lilly came by for drop in visits and some house sitting tasks. We worked together for so many times but her kids are all grown now and are moving to go to universities. So i was devastated when she moved out of Bakersfield. Our family gathers in Southern California for Christmas and usually someone stays back to watch the various dogs who cannot travel.
