Thurman Veterinary Center

My husband and I have been coming here for our dogs' needs and care for over 2 years now and I…read morehighly recommend them. They can get extremely busy and it has gotten a little more challenging to get an appointment but I always commend the level of care and customer service we get from this place. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They are also really good at following up on upcoming appointments or vaccinations due to make sure your pets are up-to-date. If you are looking for a vet center, as much as I'd like to gatekeep them, this is the place to be. Highly recommend them!

I've heard a lot of great things about this place for probably close to 7 years or more. However I…read morewas never able to get my dogs in here because they were usually full with customer capacity. End of 2025 I got a new puppy and still after calling in November they were still not taking new patients. Out of the blue a friend that goes here said back in April they were taking new patients and I couldn't even let him finish before I jumped on the phone right there and then and found it was true and finally got my puppy Fenway scheduled for his first checkup. I came in today for the first time and was completely blown away to the service and care you receive here. This isn't your every day GP type doctors office you typically see or find with a "Veterinarian" ; Thurman truly built every step, every part of the design to animals as the true patients and not the owners. It actually quite impressed me as the first initial impression. We were taken to a room where I swear you could bring a horse inside and still have plenty of room to move around and sit along the benches. It truly blew me away. It was literally every detail to this place from top to bottom and everything in between. Then came the care. The love and care my puppy Fenway received was above and beyond I have seen from any Veterinarian office in my past with all my dogs. Fenway had Julie Mischke today and she throughly did an examination and his last vaccination shot without an even flinch or movement of worry from Fenway....which by the way is a Maligator aka Melonwall I mean Malinois lol. He was completely chill and at ease here from the very start and with all the people working here. The entire staff from front to back was absolutely great and amazing and above and beyond. I could not be more happier with a place than this place right here. I can see why this place can get almost near impossible to get in with the way they do business here. Above a 5 star rating here and look forward to coming back soon for his next checkup. Thank you Thurman Veterinary staff!!! You are @FenwayMaligator approved

Allen Road Pet Hospital - My two babies, cockatiels

Allen Road Pet Hospital

It's not your traditional veterinarian, that's for sure…read more Our visit to Allen Road Pet Hospital ended up being a good one, but it's definitely different from what most people are used to.. When we called, they gave us a time to come in, but it isn't really appointment based. It's first come, first serve. When we arrived, there were about four people already waiting, receptionist was on the phone and afterwards handed us the paperwork to fill out, once done we waited about 30-45 minutes before being called in the back. They yell out "who's next" and it's pretty much up to the patients to keep track of whos turn it is. Something that surprised us right away was realizing that the woman behind the desk answering the phones was actually the doctor herself. She also had a couple of assistants helping her who looked like college students, though I'm not totally sure. The waiting area is on the smaller size and everything looked a bit cluttered, but they keep every moving quickly so your not waiting long. Once we were called back, we did notice that the exam rooms and tables were being sanitized after each patient, which we appreciated. We took our cat, Asher, out of his carrier, he was weighed, and then we waited about 5-10 minutes for the doctor. The doctor herself is a woman of few words, but she was friendly. She listened to what was going on, examined Asher, and very quickly pinpointed the issue... a gum infection. Our case was pretty straightforward, which probably helped, but it was clear she knew exactly what she was looking at. She explained the treatment plan, gave him a steroid shot that day to help with swelling and pain, and sent us home with 15 days of antibiotics. At that point, Asher wasn't really eating, was starting to become lethargic and his gums were very red and swollen, so it was great to see the steroid helping so much. He bounced back fast, and now that we're almost done giving him his antibiotics medication (5 days left), he's still doing really well. The doctor did seem a little rushed, but we never felt brushed off or ignored. It just all went by so fast. Lol. The total bill came to $145, which was shocking in the best way, considering how expensive vet visits usually are. We really appreciated the care Asher received, and since our experience was positive, we would absolutely be open to bringing him back here in the future.

I brought my 15-year-old dog, Sofia, to Allen Road Pet Hospital on 1/26/26 for euthanasia,…read moreexpecting a peaceful and compassionate experience. What we received was the opposite, and it was deeply traumatizing. When I scheduled the appointment, I was never told that sedation would not be part of the euthanasia process. During the appointment, the veterinarian did not explain that the injection she was holding was the euthanasia drug itself, not a sedative. Believing my dog was about to be sedated, I allowed her to proceed. I was not given informed consent. The vet missed the vein on the first attempt, told me it was "too late" because some of the drug had already entered my dog's system, and then stopped briefly as if the process could somehow be paused. My dog was fully conscious, screaming in fear, and bleeding heavily from the injection site. Watching her suffer like that in her final moments was horrifying. The procedure was then attempted again in her other leg. Throughout this, I was visibly distraught. Instead of compassion, I was told to "calm down" and that I was being "too loud," while my dog was actively suffering. The lack of empathy was shocking. The facility itself was also concerning -- it appeared dirty and smelled strongly of urine, which is not what anyone expects in a medical setting, especially during such a sensitive moment. Euthanasia should be humane, calm, and respectful. This experience was chaotic, painful, and traumatic. I would never recommend this clinic for end-of-life care and strongly urge others to ask very detailed questions before trusting this practice with their pet's final moments.
