Christina does a great job with Ruffles. We adopted a sweet little mut who has fit in wonderfully with our family!

This shelter has been the worst I have dealt with. I went in yesterday (after visiting several…read moreshelters in past months) trying to find the perfect dog to fit in with us. I finally find one. Isn't available until today (on stray hold). I get that. I come back right at 10am when they take people walking in for adoptions.. was told that the dog is not available for adoption because it's going to a rescue. I asked can I get the information for the rescue so I can adopt through them? Nope. They can't give out that info. So basically after being told I could adopt the dog today, I was told I couldn't because it's going to be picked up by a rescue who is going to foster it and find a home. Hi. I could have been that home. But your shelter clearly isn't in the business of finding good homes for dogs. And with that, I'll be going to a breeder. Maybe create some policies that make it seem like you're trying to find homes for dogs and not just euthanize them. Pretty sure that rescue will do just fine without the one dog and still bring in good money from all the other dogs that take from the shelter. But like I said. The shelter clearly isn't in the business of finding good homes for their dogs. Wouldn't recommend and I won't be returning. I'd rather pay more for my dog than deal with unprofessional establishments such as this one. Shop. Don't adopt :) that should be their motto.

They informed us that someone was already scheduled to see the dog the next day, then called us after the person no-showed to let us know the dog was still available. The dog we were interested was being treated for a medical condition and they provided detailed information about the treatment provided so far and what would be needed moving forward. The dog was described as shy and a stray but clearly liked the staff at the shelter. The place was really clean with nice kennels. Overall, we were so impressed with this place.

Ballerini line, Tan markings, Mini, Male, Blue, Tail intact (not altered). Eye patch(s). Mottled Body, Markings are acceptable. Fast forward about 8 months, Tina reached out about a new litter but unfortunately the timing was not right for us. A few months later, November 16, 2021 Stefani had her litter of 8 males and 1 female. We at last selected our new puppy! With our position in the reservation list, it took just about one year to receive our pup. From here, communication with Tina was once a week for about 8 weeks. Pictures and videos showing the pups growth and how their coat is coming in. The day of pick up, the ranch was neat and well kept. We were greeted by a few of the breeding heelers, they were very loving and wanted all of our attention. Tina brought over our pup and administered his first shot and provided paperwork along with it. She advised our next steps as new parents to an amazing breed. The entire experience working with Tina as our breeder was great and couldn't be happier. It is a process as noted on their website. So please be patient and respect the process. The only recommendation I would like to mention is improvement on the progression photos during the first 8 weeks they are born. Some of the photos of the pups were a little too distant and may have been screenshots taken from a video. Thank you again Tina!

I reached out to Tina because she had standard and mini heelers. After corresponding a bit, she said a standard is probably what we were looking for. While waiting our turn in line, Tina was extremely forthright and transparent and always answered my emails clearly and quickly. Once it was our litter, she sent weekly updates about our puppy with pictures. I agree with another reviewer that our lack of pickiness got us our puppy more quickly. Our biggest concern was size; we wanted a standard on the smaller side (no more than 40 lbs). Our pup is from Shelton and Hawn. At 1 year, he is 36 lbs, perfect for us. I have to admit, I was a little nervous bringing our puppy home at 6 weeks, since so many sites recommend 8 weeks minimum, but our puppy was weaned, healthy, and ready to go. Now, we have a sociable, intelligent, loving dog who fits into our family perfectly. I can't say enough good things about our experience with Lewis Ranch. Thank you Tina!

After numerous phone calls to SPCA/Visalia Animal Control, nothing was being done. After approx. 6 months of this the entire neighborhood was making calls. The police department, I believe, finally arrived and issued a citation. This dog is now gone. However, he has been replaced by a great dane and a much smaller dog who continuously bark and howl during daylight hours. I don't believe that calling animal control is going to get anywhere with the nuisance barking. You just don't respond to or seem to care about what is happening. The residents of this home do not check on them to see what is causing them to bark constantly. Several of us in our own neighborhood have dogs and all make sure they are not a nuisance. Why isn't it possible to get some action on this problem?
