Took my Escape in for recall work and had a tuneup and some kind of 'Intake cleaning/decarbonization'. The recall work went okay but after the tuneup AND intake cleaning my car now runs like s**t, now l have had this vehicle since it was new and know first hand how it ran BEFORE they jacked it up, ohh along with multiple warning lights (ABS,Traction Control and Hill Assist Not Enabled) they, Noah, is trying to blow smoke up my a** as l am NOT a dummy who know nothing about cars. I called and scheduled an appointment for a simple oil change more than a day in advance. There was no one available to check me in when I arrived and after two hours of waiting for my car to come out, I was treated very rudely when I asked for an updated status of my vehicle to see how much longer it would be. After trying a walk in for an oil change two hours to the east and calling another dealer in Peru where the woman who answered sounded like she was stoned and said there were no appointments until the next day (meaning understaffed) I was able to get in at Lindquist. They had a beautiful shop with staff waiting to serve me as I pulled up. They did a great job and checked my tires, battery, etc and washed and vacuumed my car all for $29.99. While visiting family in Bettendorf, IA recently, we inadvertently tried to go through a flooded viaduct. The sudden impact with the deep water pulled the engine compartment splash shield loose on the passenger side. I didn't notice this until around 2:00 on Saturday afternoon. I called the service department at Lindquist Ford and talked to Noah, explaining the problem and informing him we were due to return to Schaumburg on Monday and felt it would be unsafe to drive at highway speeds with the shield half detached. Preformed a $2,000 repair on my $3,000 car before getting my ok. Broke my oil pan and had me pay for the replacement. Got the car back, and was getting 8 miles to the gallon as opposed to the usual 25 mpg. Took it back in and they tried to tell me I was getting lower mpg because it was fall and the weather was getting cooler. Will never do business with them again. read more

Absolutely terrible repair. First they ordered a generic brand of inner fender, which rode on part of the shocks, instead of the original Ford part.. Took the car back and they just pushed the inner fender up a little bit and it did the same thing. Took back again for the 2nd and final time for the actual CORRECT part with no issues. Shouldn't have to take a car in 3 times for what should have been a simple fix the first time. I wouldn't let these people work on my child's tricycle. Shane Hicks helped us over 6 months before we decided to purchase a new car. He introduced the Ford brand and explained not just the new features of Ford's innovations but the "why" Ford thought it was important. The majority of the staff was helpful, yet I just don't like the "manager" can't talk with you when trying to figure out what you are buying. A little old school sales approach for me. Now Lindquist needs to create an internal environment that aligns with what Ford R&D and image has worked so hard to create. We have been converted from a European model to an American vehicle. read more

Best experience at a Ford service shop I have had...stopped in to Lindquist with my 2013 escape because the Sync was acting up (my window switch also happened to be broken) -- I had called Sexton where I bought the car from to see if they could take a look and schedule an appointment for service at a later time and the Sexton service manager was rude. Since I was in Bettendorf, I thought I might as well pull in and see what Lindquist had to say; they were super busy but the technician knew exactly what was wrong (needed an update)...they squeezed me in, ran the update, washed and vacuumed my car and even fixed the broken window button. They were super friendly and helpful and seemed pleased that I was using them for service. I went back a few weeks later because my windshield wiper broke while driving down the road during a snow/rain storm; they were able to fix it and get me back in the road in less than 15 min. I plan to have all of my service done at Lindquist from now on; it is well worth the trip across the bridge. I only wish they would take walk-in oil changes. read more

My husband and I found a vehicle we were interested in at Lindquist via Autotrader.com and sent an inquiry about it; we were contacted the next day by Tim and negotiations started there. Since we lived an hour away from the dealership, Tim asked us to send him a few pictures of our trade-in (including the odometer reading) and he also took our info over the phone to get us pre-approved for a loan. A few texts and one phone call later, we had our approval and a trade-in offer, though we were told that the price for our current vehicle that would probably go up once the salesman got a chance to drive it and see it in person. My husband did a little negotiating by text and they were receptive to that. We made the trip to test drive the new car and arrived at the dealership to find the car running and warm for us (it was December). Tim told us to take our time on the drive and to feel free to drive it out onto nearby I80 to see how we liked how the car handled on the interstate AND, unlike most car salesmen, he didn't jump in the car to go with us! (That was my favorite part. Nothing worse than a salesman there while you're trying to discuss the pros and cons of the vehicle.) We got back to the dealership to find that they had tacked $3500 onto their original offer for our trade-in, making the payment $100 LESS than we had originally been told! Yippee! Tim walked away for 15 minutes to let us talk about things and we decided to go for it. He then mentioned that they would get us in and out as quickly as they could because there was snow moving in and he knew we had a drive ahead of us to get home. The rest of our experience was indeed pretty quick....paperwork was printed out and signed, warranties were discussed and we moved things from the old car to the new one. This was easily the most painless car buying experience I have ever had and my husband said the same. Including the 30+ minute test drive, we were in and out of the dealership in two hours, which is practically unheard of. Their price on the car we bought was fair and we were given above blue book price for our trade in. Everyone there was friendly and helpful without being overbearing, I would definitely give them a shot again if I were in the market for another vehicle. read more

The truck buying experience was great until we drove back to our home in central Illinois. They must have just serviced the rear end of the truck and the oil stayed thick enough to make it there before it started to make noise. We had the truck looked at by a mechanic and he informed us that the rear end was going out on it. I contacted Lindquist and told them the news and our salesman said he wants to make it right with us, that they are a family business for 50 years and they don't want people leaving unhappy. He asked if we could bring the truck in so that there mechanics could look at it and said the dealership will eat some of the cost and he would even give us a gas card for driving the 91 miles back to Lindquist. After taking a day off work to go to the appointment, when we arrived we were told that the our salesmen has the day off. We were sitting in the waiting room for a little over 3 hours when I finally went to the service desk to ask what the diagnosis was, the service department guy said the rear end was going out and would need replaced. I responded that I knew that and that is why the salesmen told me to bring it here. He then gave me the quote for the repair of $1700, then I asked how much the dealership was going to right off (since that is what the salesman told me was going to happen) he said they were not going to right any off and we would be responsible for the whole bill. Even though it had been less than two weeks... SO MUCH FOR KEEPING YOUR WORD. We told them that there is no way we were going to pay that amount and we left. On the ride home I called the salesman's voicemail and left a message and to this date two weeks later have not heard back from him. When we purchased the truck he told us that it was a one owner truck and the guy actually built it from there. Well with how upset I was with Lindquist I wanted to take off the free advertising that every dealership tries to smear on the back of vehicles and I noticed that it didn't originally come from there dealership, it didn't even come from there state it came from a dealership in Missouri. Not a place to do business with. They sold me a used vehicle with a bad manifold. They new it had a exhaust problem and told me they would take care of it before it was shipped to me. They did not when I asked them about it, it took over 2 months for them to contact me back and tell me they would not do anything about it. I had to write to ford directly to get them to contact me back. I was told if I lived closer they might help me with labor and parts but because I lived so far away they would not do anything. The shop report says their was a exhaust problem that they fixed but they ignored the manifold problem. I worked with Tim and Glen at the dealership. This dealership is not customer Friendly Beware. Top it off they did not even clean the inside of vehicle before they sent it to me. read more

I first called to check on the availability of a car at Linquest Ford and was connected with a salesman by the name of Josh Young. I made him aware that I would be driving almost an hour to come and look at the car and asked him to walk around it for me to make sure there were no major dents scratches or rust on the car. He told me it was in great shape all the way around. When I got there, there were 2 very noticeable open rust spots on the font and rear fenders. I nicely told him that I wasn't interested in the car, and he gave me the "what if I could fix these rust spots in our body shop" line. "We'll fix them right too." We agreed on a couple other little things and to have these two spots repaired. Josh told me he would contact me in the next day or two to set up a time that they could come pick up the car from my house and leave me with a loaner car. I waited 1 full week from the day of purchase before calling him myself and leaving the first voice mail saying, "I hope I didn't miss your call. I haven't heard from you yet." I waited another full week before leaving the same voice mail with a little agitation in my voice this time. 3 days later, I still hadn't heard from him, so I called again this time asking to speak to Josh's manager. They gave me the internet manager. I complained about the situation. She was nice and took down my number. Josh called me back later that day telling me he hadn't gotten any messages from me, but never once apologizing for not contacting me to begin with. The next day, I got a call from the body shop manager who set up a driver to swap vehicles out at my house. I got my car back two days later, and one of the rust spots had not been fixed. They did however do a very poor touch up paint job over top of the rust. That was on Friday I immediately called and spoke to Josh Saturday morning. He told me that he was going to a meeting, but would call me back as soon as he was out. I waited to call Josh back until late morning Monday. Still no apology for blowing me off, but he said he'd like for me to send a picture of the spot that hadn't been fixed and he would take a look at it and call me back. I waited until around 5:30 to yet again call him back. He told me that he had showed the picture to his body shop manager and that he was still waiting to hear back from him. He then asked me to call him back in ten minutes because he was in the middle of something. A few minutes later, he texted me to inform me he had forwarded the picture to the body shop manager and left him a voice mail (something he said he had done earlier). At this point, I was frustrated and called to speak to the sales manager. I got the pleasure of speaking to Glenn Seemayer who is in my opinion the least professional person in management I've ever spoken to. He also was not apologetic for all of the issued I'd had. As a matter of a fact he told me that I bought a car with 95k miles, and I shouldn't expect it to be perfect. I explained to him that I bought a 95k mile car because it was what I wanted, and regardless of his perception of my caliber of person, there were still promises made as to the conditions of the sale, and those promises weren't followed through on. The he told me that he had seen the picture of the spot that I had sent him, and that he couldn't see where the problem was. We live in the age of smart phones with better cameras than were available to us sold as cameras 10 years ago. I assure you, the picture very clearly shows the damage. He told me that he would talk to his body shop manager in the morning and give me a call back. Today is Wednesday (2 days later). I called Glenn at about 2 o'clock and said that I was calling because I hadn't heard from him. Glenn's response: "I never had any intention of calling you back." Me: "So you have no intention of resolving this?" Glenn: "I told you that I'd speak with our body shop manager, and I did. There's nothing to resolve." I hung up on him because it was very clear that I wouldn't be accomplishing anything with this guy. I'll be doing my best to contact anyone higher up that I can in hopes of resolving my issue, but this has been the most frustrating customer service issue I've ever had. I highly recommend not shopping at Linquest Ford. Just because you think you've got clean cut business to do with them and nothing can go wrong means nothing. No hassle sales. I went in found the Truck I wanted negotiate a great price. Within a half hour. Received well above trade in value on my trade in. Told them to process all the paperwork and that I would be in in two days to sign and pick up the Truck. It was that easy... the rest of the story, I had been to Sexton ford and found a demo model with everything I wanted. I kept asking them to give me the bottom line. They keep telling me they needed to know if I would finance through FMC and what I wanted on the trade in. Ok I not sure if I'll do a trade, I have preapproved financing. So unless the can do zero percent I didn't want to discuss that yet. After an hour I convinced them to set the price. They offered MSRP with basic discounts and incentives offered by Ford and $500 off because it was a demo. They were unwilling to budge on the price or terms. Even though the factory warrant had been put in service for about six months and it had approximately 5000 miles on it. So OK, what will you give me on my trade in, $2000 below Kelly Blue book for trade in. after wasting two and half hours I tell the manager they were crazy and I left. So I drove to DAHL Ford. The salesmen were circling my car before I got out. I walked the lot with the Salesmen in tow. They had nothing I wanted so the salesman keep offering trucks that did not have the minimum options I wanted (Crew Cab and navigation system). I was able to get away after an hour. By the time I got to Lindquist Ford I was pretty frustrated. I was very satisfied by the time I left. Oh and I can't say enough about the service department. Routine service, and warranty issues are a breeze. They have even picked up the truck from my work location and returned it before the end of the day.
