Chile relleno plate (so freaking good)
    Melinda B.

Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow! ! ! ! ! DELICIOUS!! I started with a cafe de olla and I was so happy with it. I could taste real, fresh canela in it and it wasn't too sweet. This was a genuinely good cup of coffee compared to others I've tried in LA. I had the quesadilla de chapulines and everything was made fresh. The quesadilla was made with fresh masa and perfectly crispy. The cheese was delicious Oaxacan cheese. The chapulines were abundant with excellent flavor. They're nice and citrusy. During my next visit, I ordered the chile relleno. It's one of my favorite dishes and I had to see how theirs is. Well, it was the best plate of chile relleno I've had, so far. The salsa on top was tasty. The batter was light and cloudy. The cheese inside was generous with delicious flavor. The beans and rice were great. The side salad was great too! They added tomato, cucumber and radish, tossed in lemon and a little salt. Usually restaurants throw some lettuce on a plate and it's just bland. I love this place! I'm glad I visited and look forward to my next meal there. Also, the staff are very friendly!

This is what you call a hole In the wall/ family owned restaurant.. arrived and the location its kinda lonely and industrial like .. but the inside is clean and the lady serving us what's super nice .. food is a bit on the higher end but we were all satisfied and portions are big 4 dishes an extra order of their delicious tortillas and drinks was about $175

The food is ok. The food for kids is not great for the price. I don't have a photo but the kids taquito was 2 rolled up palm sized tortillas con pollo with a x small chicken soup for $10 no drink or other sides included. Better off buying regular entree for them. The food is overpriced and over hyped. Although the molecajete was decent . I ordered menudo which was ok . I wouldn't come back , I've had way better

Came here for the first time and don't regret trying this place. Their mole was probably the best I've ever had. It had a lot of flavor and the perfect amount of kick. We also got the barbacoa per the server's recommendation and the meat was very tender. The portion size is good as well.

The molcajete was $43 and beer $6. The tasajo was the best! Service was also super fast and nice

Not the worse but also not the best, we'll stick with our regular place for Oaxacan food. They don't offer complementary chips, even if they are not with Coloradito on top, just no comp chips at all. The flavor of the food is not bad but the portions look stingy. One good thing is that we didn't have to wait too long for the food, since they other 3 tables there were done and started to leave. I don't know about other plates, but at least the ones we ordered are not making us come back. In regards to service, a "Good Afternoon, Welcome " would be nice.

The food is incredible. Probably some of the best mole I have found in LA. And the tortillas are hand made there.

This is a family owned restaurant with authentic Mexican food. Please, try the molcajete if you decide to stop by. Its so good, you wont regret it.

Was looking for Oaxacan food near USC and I'm extremely happy that I found this place! I do think it's unfortunate that you have to find parking a block or more away, since this place deserves more hype! The inside is very nice and has an authentic Mexican feel. I did notice that since we were the only people there, half of the tables still had their chairs up-I'm assuming they haven't been very busy lately. When my friend and I went in, the staff were so kind and happy to help us. Our server came by to welcome us and to suggest some signature dishes. She even gave us a sample of the mole - which was delicious. I ordered the tlayuda and an agua fresca and they very much satisfied my cravings for good Oaxacan food! I truly hope more people discover this place because they deserve to be recognized for their great attitudes and great food!

We kicked things off with the queso fundido, and wow, it was absolutely delicious! Rich, melty, and packed with flavor, it was the perfect way to start the evening. For my entrée, I ordered the cochinita pibil, which was incredibly tender and saucy in the best way. My husband ordered the short rib, and it was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. On the side, we shared the papas bravas and esquite, both of which complemented our dishes perfectly. The drinks truly elevated the night. My husband and I both love mezcal, and Kateen delivered. I ordered the Valentine's Day "Zona Romántica," which featured mezcal and wine almost like a sangria, but completely unique and beautifully balanced. My husband had the "Gypsy Fever," also mezcal-based, and it was smoky, smooth, and refreshing. Between the food, cocktails, and ambiance, it made for such a romantic and memorable evening. We'll absolutely be back!!

This time, we decided to give it another shot since it has so many good reviews, and I'm glad we did. The ambiance was much better, with nice Tulum-style vibes and music that really set the mood. From the moment we walked in, service was great. We were greeted and seated right away thanks to our reservation. Our waitress, Brenda, was friendly, attentive, and super helpful in explaining the menu and recommending drinks. She checked in often and made sure everything came out quickly. The food was good overall, though the menu is a bit limited if you don't eat meat or seafood. I was especially looking forward to the fish tacos, but it seems like they've been removed from the menu. One thing I really appreciated was the mocktail options. Perfect if you're not drinking but still want something fun. The Wes Colada is a great pick if you like piña colada type drinks, though it is on the sweeter side. The michelada was also really well done, with a nice balance of savory and sour. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this spot for a date night or a girls' night out.

Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!
