Great place to grab 24 hour late night or early day or anytime really, Mechanic can food. Authentic dishes and full of flavor. I especially love the soups, pazole or caldo de res, and especially the menudo (the breakfast of champions). Hard to find places that serve this dish during the week but Lindo Guadalajara serves it all day everyday. Super rich, full of tripe and perfect for hangovers or on chilly evenings. Servers and service is straightforward and friendly. Decor is basic and older with a genuine retro old neighborhood feel but very clean. Old school forms ca booths and tables are plentiful. But they can get busy late nights so there can be a wait. Try them out you'll be glad you did. read more

I happened to be in the neighborhood and thought I'd just get some quick tacos to-go here. I only ordered al pastor tacos, but based on those I'll absolutely be back. The meat was seasoned so well and perfect. & the corn tortillas were some of the best, no breaking apart and they tasted very good. Definitely recommend and I'll have to be back to try other foods. read more

Lindo Guadalajara - Taco Al Pastor / Seasoned Pork - Mexican Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

This place has been around for ages. I dined in late with my fiancé and we ordered a three taco dinner plate, tacos and two horchatas. I told the waitress I wanted a three taco dinner and she responded, "3 dinners or 1 three taco dinner?" With a bit of an attitude. I think I made myself clear when I said a "three taco dinner plate" which is three tacos, rice, beans. We got our tacos and noticed they garnished it with lettuce and tomatoes which is a big no for us. We wanted onions and cilantro only. The Al pastor was garnished with cilantro and onions but the rest was lettuce and tomatoes. The portions were generous, beans were good, rice was good and horchata was good. We just didn't like the excessive amount of lettuce and tomatoes on our tacos and rather just have onions and cilantro. The waitress was being snobby with me but was acting pleasant with my fiancé because he's Mexican and spoke Spanish. read more

Love a place here in Chicago that is open 24/7- establishments like this are staples of the city. This food is great and always hits after a night out. Cute interior with lots of seating and good atmosphere. The staff are always very friendly. Their quesabirria is amazing and at this point a staple in my diet. read more

Had a taste for a burrito and Lindo Guadalajara did not disappoint. The family and I ordered to go. The lady at the counter was nice and helpful. The restaurant is more spacious than I thought. They have an ample amount of seating and they have dine in table service. We all enjoyed the food and I'll definitely go again. I was glad to see they are 24 hours. That will definitely come in handy in the future. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, I do recommend Lindo Guadalajara. read more

Is Lindo Guadalajara a secret unrecognized Michelin Bib Gourmand? Of course not. It's an all-night Mexican diner. They will make you a ridiculous omelette at 3 AM, with a side of wilted lettuce and a bit of refried beans topped with "cheese". My Spanish is absolute garbage, but it's mostly enough here. I've been coming here since college, and I don't intend to quit any time soon. Look. Places like this don't last this long unless their customers are dedicated to something besides some kind of objective greatness. The food is tasty enough for my caucasity, authentic enough that many patrons are folks I can't eavesdrop on, and filling enough to justify the (reasonable) prices. It's an institution, a beacon of hope, a tile-covered icon of a time I genuinely miss. I hope it stays open till the sun goes out. So if you're looking to experience la auténtica cocina jaliscience, you might be disappointed. But if you just want Mexican breakfast at an inappropriate hour, served by kind and experienced folks who frankly deserve better than they've gotten in life, I would grab you by the shoulders and walk you here myself, from as far away as Southport Corridor or Evanston. Is it heaven? No. It's Lindo Guadalajara. read more

24hr Mexican comfort food/taqueria in uptown/ravenswood serving delicious & authentic cuisine. Food: If dine in: chips & fresh made very spicy salsa included*** Sopes/Gorditas/Tacos... Al pastor - 5/5 - very savory delicious Carne asada - 4/5 - good but not outstanding Pozole (Rojo) - 5/5 - loved it! Tastes fresh, authentic and delicious Pollo con mole - 4.5/5 - very good but not exceptional; not exactly mole poblano because the sauce is lighter in color and not as thick in consistency Coctel de camaron - 4/5 - tastes authentic alright and with plentiful shrimp! However, I was expecting cut up shrimp and not whole pieces. Also would have been better served with tostada than saltine crackers. Chilaquiles con huevos y carne (bisteak) - 5/5 - loved every part of this hearty breakfast dish Huevos rancheros - 4/5 - it did not come as I had expected, i.e., tortilla/tostada should have been sitting below the eggs Ambience: Standard Mexican cocina type shop Service: Fast and friendly read more

They're literally open 24/7, so regardless of how you feel about the quality of their food and/or service, you gotta give this place props for being open at any time for YOUR convenience. My friend and I came here around 10 or 11pm on a week night, and surprisingly the place had a decent amount of foot traffic as well as those dining in. The lady with the blue hair who took care of us (our server) was really friendly! As far as the food, I don't remember the name of the plate we got, but I also ordered Pozole as well. Chips and salsa came with the meal for free which was a a nice add. I liked how spicy the salsa was. It was perfect. I liked our entree with the meat, but the pozole was whatever. I'd come back though. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I had in Chicago. Extremely rude owner, shows no accountability to his gross mistakes. Shameful.

I'd give this place closer to a 3.5 due to some inconsistencies with their food. I only order pickup here (this isn't really an ambiance sort of place haha). I actually really enjoy their pozole but their burritos tend to be inconsistent with their ratio of meat / rice / veggies. Service is always very quick which I really appreciate! I'm honestly most thankful this place is 24/7 and can satisfy that late night burrito craving. read more

Negative reviews here have no couth. The food is impeccable and always served by the most lovely folks. If you're coming here for "ambiance," give me a break. I would highly advise you to think twice before eating at this restaurant. Our family ordered dinner from this restaurant as we had it once before and liked it. Our food was delivered to a complete stranger's house ( the stranger saw our address and brought it to our door) the food had been delivered to them upside down and the food was in the plastic bag. In other words, we could not eat the food. When I called the restaurant about this, the person who answered the phone said it was out of their control. When I told them that I was going to post a Yelp, the person literally said "do what you like." Clearly they do not care about their business. Please save your money and go elsewhere! read more

Chicken taco wasn't good. I was surprised that the tortillas for the tacos was very soggy right after ordering it. The spice level for the salsa rojo and salsa verde was very poor. The service was nice. The people there was really kind, the ambiance is beautiful as well. The food wasn't the best but it was overall a 2 out of 5 for me read more

I think we all have at least one friend we aren't really that close to, but if we're ever drunk at 2am and need someone to call, we know they'll be there. For me, Lindo Guadalajara is the restaurant equivalent of that friend. Are we close? No. Do I want to be? Not really, but thanks so much for asking. Do these greasy tacos hit so freaking hard when I need food at some ungodly hour of the night? Absolutely. So yes, I will be back next time I need you. Not much can be said about the service other than that it is scarily fast. Like, the type of fast that makes you want to question your most recent life choices, but you already sat down and it's too late to go back now so oh well. The interior desperately wants you to know that it is a Mexican restaurant, complete with all your favorite Spanish soap operas (you may need to wait till the good part is over before they take your order, which honestly, I get it). If you are looking for good Mexican food in Uptown, go to Primo Chuki's or Carmela's, because mmMmmMmm they are good. If you're looking for food, and it's midnight, and you literally just need something in your body, these tacos will taste like the best thing you've ever had (al pastor is king here) read more

Great service and great food! Best of all is they're always open for your late night munchies.

Sketchy. Skeeeeeettttcccchhhhyyyyy. In all honesty, if we weren't looking for any place to eat at 1:30 in the morning, there is no way we would stop here. Walking in, you can't help but wonder when the last time a food inspector or health inspector was in the establishment. For that matter, you can't help but wonder when the last time anyone with a cleaning rag was in the establishment. The food was OK but nothing special. Honestly, just a generic Mexican restaurant, in Chicago, that really needs to be cleaned thoroughly.... but, it is open 24 hours a day and after a night of drinking, that is really all one is looking for read more

Was driving down Lawrence and noticed there was a sign on this place that said 24 hours...for some reason that stuck in my mind. Me and my friend had quite a few drinks @ Uptown Lounge later that evening and was craving tacos and burritos around 2am. There is not a lot of places open late in Uptown that has late nite mexican and my go to place in Edgewater was closed at this point. Suddenly that 24 hour sign appeared in my mind. We drove 1 minute west on Lawrence and parked right in front. There were a few patrons there looking very pleased with their meal so I knew the place wouldn't disappoint. I got the al pastor (seems to be popular here) burrito which was very good along with the proper sauces. I saw they had horchata so I definitely had to have some to wash down the delicious burrito . Its good to know there is a place close by to take care of that late nite drunken sensation. read more

This taqueria exists so that you don't end up at St. Boniface Cemetery (or pass out in front of Aragon Ballroom) across the street after hard-core partying and excessive drinking. Well, Rosa J. simply just got off work. At 2030 hour on a Sunday, take-out or dine-in food options are relatively limited. Lindo Guadalajara, located on the southeast corner of Clark and Lawrence, serves whoever is in need, 24/7. I just wanted my menudo fix since it was the weekend. However, Lindo Guadalajara might have menudo and pozole because I didn't see "solo fines de semana" on the menu. Any validation? Has anyone ordered a bowl of menudo or pozole on a weekday before? If the answer is affirmative, it can be a game-changer and Rosa J. can die happy by having menudo everyday! Otherwise, Lindo Guadalajara wouldn't be my top choice among many Mexican restaurants in the city. Except their horchata, it was quite delicious and had a good balance of sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Their torta de carne asada was offered in a "kiddie" size. Come on! I have had twice of the size at a taqueria inside the supermercato for the same or a similar price. My menudo ($8.50) wasn't anything extraordinary. Why does the north-side Chicago like to jack up the price for a bowl of menudo? They do have a minimum cap for a credit card purchase: $7 with a valid photo ID. Order a torta and a small horchata, then that requirement is met. Our total was $20 before tip. I will probably be back because there's no block-out hours, yet it's really for this reason alone! read more

Food was not good. Literally was microwaved tacos. Go to charcoal guacamole down the street, way better quality food. Don't waste your money

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The service is often quick but the waitresses are kinda rude. Then the food is mediocre. I recommend charcoal guacamole down the block, the food is soooo much better. They are also open 24 hours and much better quality. Additionally, they don't charge you for limes for your tacos and the quesadilla have more cheese and meat. Don't waste your time at lindos to be really honest. Shitty service and food. This is one of those hole-in-the-wall places you might avoid from its no-frills appearance and lackluster neighborhood. Don't. It's authentic Mexican food like I learned to love in Texas. Not TexMex at all. Real Mexican. Not a lot of sauces, just basic fresh ingredients and simple authentic food. I've come here for tacos after a late night out and also for a hearty Carne Asada steak on the weekends. And don't forget to try the horchata! Its a very good, casual eating experience. After the last round of drinks at Hidden Cove, we ended up here somehow. It was late and needed sustenance in the form of Mexican food. The counter lady was pleasant. She gave us a seat at the counter and poured us a round of waters. One would think.. if one writes reviews, wouldn't you use them.. all the time?! Not quite the case earlier this morning. In regards to food decisions, my friend was smart. A couple tacos with different proteins. Me.. I had to be complicated and go with chilaquiles and a lengua taco. (I regret not looking at photos or reviews. I always order Al pastor and for whatever reasons didn't this time.) Back at the homestead, the lengua looked tasty & succulent. However, it was not seasoned and bland. I had to douse it in red salsa. Their salsas are HOT, not tasty & spicy. So hot, my tastebuds turned off and I had to sip water for some time till I could stomach eating again. The chilaquiles was offensive. Eggs overdone on top of mush served with rice and refried beans. (W/ chilaquiles, the chips that are served underneath the eggs will become mush when doused in a good salsa. But, if the salsa & chips are fresh, it should all taste great.) I'm going to have to figure out how to reconstitute this mulch into something reasonably tasty... Less than impressed. Based on reviews by Yelp folks I trust, the Al pastor would have been winner. Maybe I'll put some time between visits and give it another go. read more

My fiance and I love being so close to this place! It's definitely not an upscale mexican restaurant but it gets the job done and the staff are very kind & accommodating.
