I think this is my 3rd time I'm still loving this place. Today I had it delivered I ordered another one of my favorites Chiles Rellenos with red sauce. As amazing as the chiccarone verde! I ordered a chiccarone taco too cause I couldn't make up my mind. I grew up eating home cooked meals I am of Italian decent and my gramma used to cook amazing food and even though this food is Mexican not Italian it reminds me of sitting in grammas kitchen, feeling warm and loved totally diffferent food I know but it gives me that feeling of love and home and Anna is still there she answered the phone when I called and she actually remembered me! What a nice feeling! This is my place to order home cooked Mexican meals now if they only had tamales I would be even more pleased that I am now. I hope this place stays in business forever! Apparently the ceviche tostadas went from $4.50 to $7.50. They were ok. Seafood was a rubbery. $50.00 for 4 tostadas, a Guacamole and drink. Guacamole was dark from refrigeration. Not really worth it to be honest. read more

Great authentic Mexican food. They have some unique dishes that are hard to find elsewhere, like lamb stew, walnut molé, tacos alambre, lamb barbacoa, etc. The tacos alambres I had were very fresh, tasty, and well made. The quesadilla was huge and prepared with a fresh handmade tortilla. The orange and green salsas were tasty and homemade. I'll return here soon to try some of their more unique specialties. Glad they are in the neighborhood, the tacos at El Michoacanito are some of the better ones in the area, and i've tried a bunch of them. We just ordered did from Grubhub. I'm honestly really surprised that this restaurant received 4 stars. The guacamole was only thing that was decent, but needed salt. The barbacoa and the carne asada burritos were not good and flavorless. Very disappointed. read more

I stopped by this gem today for a lunch pick up. Owners are very nice and we even chatted about his homemade salsas. Food is fantastic. I ordered a carne asada burrito and a carne asada taco. I USED TO love this place 5 years ago when i lived practically around the corner, but the inevitable happened. Mike Sula loved it, and it got the "check please syndrome". And they never delivered back then either, which kept it truly real. Went there for the first time in years a few months ago and it wasn't quite the same. The burrito was smaller with less beef than the old days. Service was slllooowww. Owner wasn't there but bathroom still spic and span. It took 20 minutes to get my burrito because the girl was making a huge delivery order. When my friend got there after his $5 haircut it took another 20 minutes to make his carryout-out order I had asked her to hold til he got there that was my mistake. I guess it was inevitable, I had always begged her to let me get her some press and she always said she wanted it to stay the same. At least it's still BYOB and that orange sauce is different than the old one but almost just as hot, and the chips are still homemade and delicious. read more

I knew it was too good to be true. The piña rellena came in spicy red sauce, not the traditional cream sauce. It didn't have the white vegetable rice, fries, or garlic bread. The seafood inside the pineapple seems like it came from a bag of a frozen mix. So disappointed. read more

Ordered the burrito, guac, pico de gallo, chicken mole, and quesadilla....Let's start with the quesadilla....wow, excellent. Homemade tortilla, not greasy and fresh! You know the thick, homemade tortilla?...they use it for the quesadilla ! Actually all their ingredients were fresh....the guac was good but definitely needed spicing up. We added the pico de gallo to the guac and it was perfect! Burrito, mole and the sauces were all excellent...With all the Mexican restaurants we're lucky to have in Chicago, this place is raising the bar...delivery was slow but worth the wait...order early and enjoy the tasty goodness! read more

Super yummy, loved that my quesadilla was made out of masa (didn't expect it....pleasantly surprised). Flor de calabaza quesadilla was damn good. Husband has the asada huarache, got the thumbs up. The chicharon taco=heat, super spicey. Still good though. Definitely ordering again. read more

Grubhub customer and occasionally in the restaurant. When it comes to Mexican cuisine, the salsa is something that can keep me coming back or not. I love both of their salsas -- verde and roja. Really nice bite from both of them. The burritos were great. Quesadillas were good, but I prefer an option to choose between flour or corn tortilla. The corn was a bit too much for me. The dinner plates are very good. The Platillo de Alambre is a repeat dinner for me -- sort of deconstructed shish-kabab. read more

The service was bad, the waitress didn't show up my table until 15 minutes later just clean it up. I order one of them special, ceviche de camaron, it took 40 minutes for it to come to my table, I asked them why, she claim to be very busy taking care of the Internet orders first. The shrimp ceviche was fishy I never will go back. And btw they still charge me for it. read more

Ordered Grubhub. They delivered early. I had the caldo de pescado and nachos. The Caldo was delicious! I loved the addition of roasted chilis. Nachos were great including a half sliced avocado. When the owner is at the restaurant food is good. But she is not there that often anymore.. I was there today I waited 45 minutes for a Guisado of Puerco with nopales. And it never come, so I went to ask for it they told me that I have wait my time, that they had a lot of phone call orders, the chips were old and stinky, place was dirty they didn't offer me water either, oh btw the Guisado was the special or the day.
