Johnny's Garage is the real deal…read more We ordered takeout earlier this week and it was so good we had to come back in person a few days later. On that visit, we all ordered the Dirty South pizza, a burger with fries, and the mini corn dogs, and everything was just as impressive. It came out hot, crispy, and fresh, with plenty of their amazing sauces. Honestly, we were blown away. That experience alone would've been enough, but going in person sealed it. We were greeted right away by a super friendly staff, and our server was incredibly helpful. We started with the fried dough dip plate and then got the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. When we came back, my wife ordered the burger and fries again and it was dynamite all over again. Consistency like that says a lot. Everything came out quickly, tasted incredible, and the whole team was so accommodating and genuinely welcoming, creating a really family-friendly atmosphere. The vibe is awesome too. Laid-back, great music, plenty of space, and a really cool rock-and-roll garage aesthetic. You can tell the staff enjoys being there, which makes a huge difference. And I have to mention the drinks. The dirty sodas, especially the vanilla Coke, are dangerously good. The kind of thing you could absolutely get hooked on. And somehow, on top of all that, the prices are more than fair. It's such a refreshing break from the overpriced downtown spots. From start to finish, this place has it all: great food, great service, great atmosphere, and great prices. Total package.

I ordered the duck BLT with fries cooked in duck fat, and wow--easily one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The sandwich was perfectly balanced, rich without being overwhelming, and those fries? Completely next level. Crispy, flavorful, and honestly addictive. We also tried the wings, which were just as impressive--perfectly cooked with great flavor and just the right amount of kick. To top it all off, their rotating cocktail was creative, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the food. The vibe is laid-back and fun, the staff was friendly and attentive, and everything came out quickly. It's the kind of spot you go to once and immediately start planning your next visit. Five stars all the way.

Didn't even try to listen to both sides of the story, they just immediately took the side of the 'victims' (the same 'victims' who instigated the situation and elbowed the one guy who was trying to deescalate things). Thought I escaped that BS when I left the West Coast. Guess not. Really put a sour taste in my mouth. Don't think I'll go back.

How have I not eaten at JF before?! I feel like I have been missing out. I visited on a Saturday…read morefor lunch and sat at the bar. The whole place feels quaint and local, yet refined and classy. First off I love that it's a full service bar and eating at the bar is no problem. Second I absolutely love they sell pitchers of beer. Not many taps, but still pitchers. And it's mostly local beer. I was with my husband and we wanted to try several things and took recs from the bartender who was awesome. We ordered the pork dumplings, the scallion pancake and the spicy sichuan hot karaage rice bowl. And we made it a combo with miso soup and an egg roll for $4. The pork dumplings were SO good. I could eat a meal of those alone. They were dense and flavorful and the dipping sauce was slightly spicy. The scallion pancake was a surprise delight. It was crispy and not too greasy again with a delicious dipping sauce. The miso soup...chefs kiss. It looked like ordinary miso soup but there was something extra that we really loved!! And the egg roll was big and juicy and fried and wonderful. It's a veggie egg roll but don't let that fool you. So much flavor and again the sweet chili dipping sauce left us drooling. Most of those sauces are too sweet but this was the perfect blend and the perfect spice level. The rice bowl was full of flavor!! The spice on this is quite a lot so make sure you can handle heat if you order the "hot" version. But again lots of flavor not just hot. Thank god we didn't order anymore food because this was plenty for the two of us to leave full and honestly we could've had leftovers. We will 1000% be visiting again and fully understand the hype around this phenomenal restaurant!!

All the dishes we ordered, from the miso soup and pierogis with salsa macha, to the karaage-don and peanut noodles, were savory and satisfying to eat. The texture and appearance of the chicken for the karaage-don bore more of a resemblance to General Tso's chicken with its battered and crunchy exterior, and it didn't quite have the tender and juicy interior I was hoping for, but I enjoyed the lemon mayo pairing which resulted in a flavorful finish. The Peanut Noodles reminded me of certain iterations of Dan Dan Noodles and certainly tasted fine on its own, but adding the thick chunks of bacon/pork belly was essential in elevating this dish to the next level. The restaurant was very lively on a Thursday afternoon, and the staff very warm and inviting throughout our meal. My drink hit the mark for me, and I found the cocktail menu fun and creative. In fact, I would say "fun and creative" summed up our overall experience at Jackrabbit Filly. Just ask my daughter, who started dancing the entire lunch the moment she saw the disco lights in the bathrooms.

It's a great trendy location on the edge of Park Circle, conveniently has a small parking lot in addition to street parking and a tiny city lot close by, woman owned, and decorated super warm and inviting. So I really really wanted to like this place. Maybe it was the day I chose to go. I used YELP to reserve a spot on the waitlist, and met a friend for brunch before going into Highwater. Maybe they were unusually slammed. I ordered a Buzzed Donut, coffee rubbed bacon, with an over-easy egg on a pop biscuit doughnut with a side of shredded hashbrowns & mocha dip. Sounds amazing and unique! But the one I was served was burnt, hard, and had obviously been sitting under some heat too long and was past the point of being served. I politely brought it to my server's attention both dark coloring, hard texture, and burnt taste were affected, and while she did inquire, the answer was that it was the last one so a re-order was not an option. I was not trying to make a stink to my server or make my friend late to the festival, and they couldn't rush a new item, so I ate around the hard/burnt part politely. When the bill came, the server informed me she took 15 percent off that item. Everyone has off days, and I really wanted to like this place but the more I think about it the crazier it is to think I paid 85 percent of a meal that shouldn't have been served. When I worked in food service, I would have never served an item in this condition. I would have simply apologized that I didn't realize the kitchen was out, taken the item off the bill, and brought a replacement item or dessert at no charge. I had excitedly announced it was my first time trying this place when the server first introduced herself, and I'm just disappointed it wasn't 100 percent wonderful.
