The service was great from everyone who worked there. First I had my massage with Carolyn, and it was hands-down, the best massage of my life. There is nothing I hate more than a massage where you feel more tightness because they didn't work the spot enough or with enough pressure. She was sure to work thoroughly, and it paid off, I felt a million times better than when I walked in. Then I had a facial with MaryAnn, and she was excellent as well! I am a super nerd so I like to understand the process, and MaryAnn explained each step to me, why they use certain things, how it helps, etc. They also told us of several specials they are currently offering, or will be in the coming months, which is great considering how expensive it can be to pamper yourself! Above all, it's the expertise, and genuine passion that makes Penny and her salon so brilliant. I naturally have short, curly and very challenging hair. Penny is literally able to transform my hair with extensions. The way she is able to blend my own hair with extension hair is simply amazing. Penny is a master stylist & it's very apparent in her work. Penny's passion for her business is another reason she's a notch above the rest. Somehow the way she does the brazilian wax here is the least painful of all other places I've ever been to. Now I'll only be going to her for those! Her site recommends advance booking and that service is usually by appointment evenings (5:30 pm +) Tuesday through Friday, and Saturday 9am - 4pm. The space is above Kristin's Termé on Jay. I'm not quite sure if her business is part of Kristin's or separate. Either way, you enter through Kristin's Terme. If you have an evening appointment, Kristin's may be closed, but Beth will come an unlock the entrance a few minutes before your appointment if she is with another client beforehand. So don't be alarmed if you arrive early and find that the front door is locked. I parked on the street; if you can't find parking, there is additional parking behind Perreca's and Cornell's across the street.

When I first came in, I had (with all of the best of intentions) completely destroyed my skin. I had been using various products I knew very little about in an attempt to treat my acne which had actually happened as a result of the astringent products I was using making my face extremely sensitive! To hide this from others I was piling foundation and concealer onto my face, which prevented any kind of healing. Amy knew instantly what was wrong and had all sorts of recommendations to make. Every day my skin looks better, and each time I go to Kristin's her smile shows me how drastic the change has been. In fact, with the exception of a tinted SPF I have been using, I have almost completely ceased to use make-up. I don't need it! My skin is incredible! Although everyone at Kristin's will make your day and make you feel fabulous, I cannot recommend Amy's services highly enough. I had a baby and wanted to give myself a little mommy makeover, my hairs blonde and I just wanted highlights and wax, tint and lamination on my brows.. the woman never returned my call back about my hair so I just kept my appointment for wax, tint and lamination.. I walked in and stood there for 5 minutes while people working there were looking at me but not saying anything, the girl was nice however was 30 minutes late to start, whatever no big deal it happens. The wax lamination and tint lasted an hour and a half.. I'm pretty sure the girl was under the influence of something by the way she spoke and looked like she was nodding off. She WAXED HALF MY EYEBROWS OFF! this was my first time doing lamination and tint, i told her I wanted a natural and full look, pictures do not do it justice. You can see from the tan lines how much hair was waxed and taken off. I haven't had my eyebrows waxed in over a year, so my lashes were super full and thick... it doesn't look like the tint or lamination worked at all, I notice no difference other then half my eyebrows missing. I wasn't going to go back, but everywhere else was booked so I decided to give it another try. This time I was given a price list, I chose the $38 pedicure and the acrylic which is listed as $25. For my pedicure, she handed me the choices and told me to choose a color, which I did. For my nails, I wanted no color, but told her to do a matte top coat. She started to do the top coat and another woman came over and said something to her in another language. She removed the top coat and used another bottle. While doing my hands, she cut me twice and for my pedicure, the drill kept going all over my toes, never once did she apologize. When I went to pay, the bill was $123; I asked why it was so much and they said it it $20 extra for gel polish for the pedicure and manicure; no one mentioned this to me, nor did they ask if that was what I wanted I paid and left, but I will NEVER go back. I would rather drive out of my way to go elsewhere!
