I love, love that one other tech there was an older Vietnamese woman who spoke very little English-- Lynn would help her along with some words (think mini language lesson), but would always translate what she had said for those of us non-Vietnamese speakers. I had my first no-chip manicure here today -- what a nice experience. I had only been in there once, several months before, for a regular manicure...without any prompting, the manicurist remembered my name, where I work, and referenced my neighbor, who is a regular customer. Impressive. The manicure itself was quick, efficient, and the result is wonderful. The whole thing took about half an hour, and I couldn't be more pleased. I had made an appt to treat myself to my 1st no-chip manicure. Was kept waiting for my appt. No one acknowledged that they were running late, and I had already paid for my meter. A customer came in as a walk-in, was told to come back tmrw, and was sent away because they were busy. When I asked if I should reschedule, the lady said "oh no, we'll be with you in a moment." 15 minutes later, I was attended to. The lady told me the no-chip would last at least 2 weeks, and if it chipped they would fix it for free within that time. She did a mediocre polish job that didn't cover the edges of the nail. The manicure lasted only 8 days. Unfortunately I was on vacation out the country at the time. I took pictures of the chipping when it began. By the time I returned, I only had 2.5 fingers with polish on. I went back to the salon when I returned and was told, that 1) I should've told them immediately when it happened 2) I should've called before coming in 3) I should've gotten my nails redone abroad instead of waiting. The lady agreed to do my nails again but not without a different employee trying to get me to pay. Then they started to talk about me in their native language. Massage chairs were awesome. The attention to detail wasn't there with the tech who did my mani/pedi today: odd shapes, uneven lengths. No current magazines, a TV on. It was really cold in there, especially barefoot! 1 hour 45 mins for the $30 mani/pedi special, and my nails still weren't dry. And you know what is worse than Muzak? Muzak on repeat. I decided to give this place two stars because of several reasons. I had to wait an hour for a manicure that took 10 minutes. There was a kid running around bumping all of the chairs and this kid was obviously one of the workers' kids. They do an okay job with painting, but if you're looking to relax while getting your nails done, find somewhere else. They do have a big selection of colors, and they're reasonably priced. I was on the hunt for a good nail salon in Chicago. Coming from Brooklyn, good nail salons came a dime a dozen. In Chicago, this was not the case. I decided to take a gamble on Lincoln Square Nailes. I was pleasantly surprised. I did a no-chip mani weekday special, regular pedi and eyebrow threading. It has been almost two weeks and my no-chip mani is holding out strong!!! They were very friendly and precise with all the work they did. She was very good about doing two different colors for my manicure. I even smudged a toe while they were drying and the artist quickly came over and fixed it to perfection. I was pretty scared about the eyebrow threading. When I first moved to Chicago, I went to another salon and the lady butchered my brows. I have always prided myself on having perfect brows and it took me almost 5 months to grow them out so I can reshape them. Lynn did a great job on my pedicure and no-chip manicure! The place is clean, they have a huge TV and tons of current magazines and the color selection is phenomenal (most places seem to only have a dozen or so no-chip colors but this place has at least 40-50). What I don't like is that the technicians barely speak English and they are always talking among them in a different language and sometimes you do not know if they are talking to you or to someone else, I found that pretty rude, I guess that's the situation in most of the nail salons. read more

This review is a bit late in coming. I have been to this nail salon a number of times and have LOVED my experience each and every time. Lynn is fantastic; super friendly, a great nail tech, and fast! The basic mani/pedi is only $30 if you go through the week. Typically when something is so cheap, you get what you pay for and USUALLY aren't too happy with it, but not in this case. Also, if you don't see the color you want, all you have to do is let her know and she will get it for you. I am now hooked on my no-chip manis. This salon does a great job at a very good price. I just got my third one here and I must say I have to return because of outgrowth - not chipping. The technician is very friendly and remembered that I came in with my son last time. I am a little OCD and have had my nails done elsewhere prior, but I love that LSN did not leave one smudge of polish anywhere it shouldn't be (other salons have left polish on cuticles). I never had to wait long. Today I just grabbed a bite to eat nearby and they thanked me for waiting. Don't forget to bring cash to tip with (cash tip only). A girlfriend and I had a date this afternoon to get threaded and get pedicures. We got there today (Monday) at about 1PM and there was no one there. Score! The place was very clean and tidy. The 2 ladies there were super nice and helpful. It had been awhile since I got threaded and a pedicure so this was definitely needed and it was worth it. They have a great special Monday through Thursday that I was debating on but decided to by pass today. You can get a Mani and Pedi for $30. I will be back for this. Service was great. I called in for an appointment to get a pedicure and manicure. I walked in and I was told to select a color. They have a large variety of professional nail polishes that are perfect for summer. My favorites are OPI and Essie which they had a whole wall of this to choose from. After picking my colors, I was quickly seated in the chair with no time to waste. The salon and it's equipment are extremely clean. There were only 3 working but they still manage to give you individual attention. I only come here for Lynn - her no-chip and pedi are good. The other lady (who I believe is Lynn's mother) does not speak much English, was a bit rough when cutting my cuticles, and was also a bit rude at times (she handed my jacket and purse - both of which were placed on an empty chair - to another customer - we both told her they are mine - she proceeded to dump my jacket back on MY chair with my purse hanging off 1 strap - stop abusing my Miu Miu!!). The only problem with this place is they only have 2 people (+ part time staff during busy times/season) and does not have a good booking/reservation system. There have been times when I called ahead, told Lynn I'd come at a certain time, be there on time, only to wait for over half an hour. The owner Lynn is very involved in the business, honors reservations promptly, staff are uniformly courteous, the place is spotless, they don't treat a guy like an outcast, the massage chairs are awesome, music is soothing, TV news volume is low, quality of the manicure and pedicure is consistently good and an excellent value. Wow! I just came here for the first time, and I will be coming back! The place is so clean and the furnishings are very nice. Every person I interacted with was extremely pleasant, and my nail technician was easy to talk to and funny. This was the best pedicure. I explained to her that I'm in a play right now in which I have to be barefoot, and she really went the extra mile in making my feet look smooth and pretty (no easy task, I assure you)!
