Lincoln Park after Dark OPI regular nail polish
Mandy V.

I went there for the first time today to get a regular manicure. The owner is very kind and did a beautiful job! She has tons of colors and options for dip, gel, etc. $15 for a regular manicure is a deal! I paid in cash but you can use credit as well. The owner said she will start doing tips on Venmo and Zelle in March 2023. I'll be back!

I like this place a lot. New chairs. A lot of colors. The manager is very nice. The music is relaxing. This is my second time there. After first time I got of complements on my nails. They're strong, not thick and they have a good shape.

So I would've rated this establishment a 5- star but the nail lady was such an asshole (excuse my French) and an excuse maker. I'll start off rating my nail person for my pedicure. He did an amazing job. Super nice, sweet understanding and listens very well. His mannerisms were nice and he worked sufficiently. I paid $25 for a pedicure and it took maybe 20-25 minutes. Now back to the nail lady (or owner)... my roommate went for a full set of acrylics and a regular pedicure. Pedicure = good. For her nails, she attempted to explain to the lady that the width of her nails were uneven between reflecting nail ( right thumb to left thumb). Instead of trying to understand my roommates concern and fix it, she cut her off and basically told my roommate that some of her fingers were fatter than the other. Super rude! Toward the end, she kept pressuring us for a tip, which for me went out of the window right allow with her mannerisms.

I'm torn writing this review because the technicians were really nice and did their best to not keep walk-ins waiting, but maybe they need to let them know honestly that they'll need to wait instead of rushing. Had an interview today, since all my nails have broken I went in yesterday to get tips put on. Reshaped them when I got home, still not perfect, but not saturated. So disappointed, really was hoping I had found a spot near my new home.

Don't judge this place by the old outside door and sign. It's beautiful inside; new chairs and super clean. I only get a simple regular mani/pedi, but they did a fabulous job. I'll definitely come back again!

See how my edges aren't crisp. They're sloppy

Although I have my usual go to place to get my nails done (Super Nails on Lawrence. Highly recommend this place), I always pass by Lincoln Square nails and decided to give it a try since it was on my way home. Right when I walked in I was asked what I was wanting to get done. I was looking to get fills that's it. They asked me to pick a color and have a seat at one of the stations. So far so good...it wasn't until I noticed the younger lady was finished buffing and filling my nails that my nail shape was completely different. It was clear I had coffin shaped nails when she first started. I asked her if she could make them more into a coffin shape and she gave me the excuse that she "tried" but since I had an overlay if acrylic that she couldn't do it. I asked if she could just try buffing it with the nail filer and she seemed annoyed but did so anyway. I noticed she started getting sloppy and would toss each finger when she would go to the next finger. She was clearly annoyed and being rough on purpose. Her nail polish application was fair but it's hard to tell in the picture but it's really streaky and the edges are sloppy. Needless to say I WILL NOT be coming back.

full set dip - color #K25

Lynn did a beautiful job on my nails. Got a full set dipping powder mani and it turned out beautiful. Been to so many salons where they turn out thick & chunky, but Lynn shaped my nails perfectly & exactly how I described too. She also advised me on what shape would best flatter my hands. She didn't rush at all, yet was done quickly! Will be returning.

This is is not almond shape and you can see the streaks off the polish. Wow
Ha Le P.

So I came to this nail shop since I recently moved into the area. This place was within walking distance and did acrylic nails. (My usual spot is Hot nails but it was definitely a drive not a walk sad face) so I wanted to try something new, Lincoln square area hasn't disappointed me..... yet. I walk in and was asked what I would like to get done which was a fill in and a polish change on my toes. So the younger lady asked if I had time to wait. I said sure I'm not in a rush. So she asks me to pick my color and so I did. Right when I'm about to sit down on the waiting chair, this gentlemen comes in and points me to the pedicure chair. As he was working on my feet, he said in his native language that "I hate doing feet, they smell." Surprise to them, I AM Vietnamese and understood the whole thing. I was already fuming. And the two ladies working told him to shush and that she's Vietnamese. (Hint moron: even they knew I was) I continue to hold my composure because it's not the ladies fault for his fowl mouth. So I continue to get my fill in. I asked for my nails to be shorter since my nails were pretty long and I wanted almond shape nails. So she proceeds to do my nails. I end up with just a regular curve shape. Ok, now I know this is just going to end up bad. My nails were painted on and the color was just of poor quality. It was clumpy but she continued to color it knowing how bad the color went on my nail. At this point I just want to run out of here. I paid for my nails (wasn't cheap either $30, for $38 at hot nails you can get a FULL SET AND PEDICURE) okay whatever, I pay for them and tip cash since they have obnoxious signs everywhere to tip in cash to the nail techs. OK I got the memo, I still tipped 20% because I do work in the hospitality field so I understand how hard it is living off tips. I did let the lady know that what the gentlemen said was out right rude and if he didn't want to work on feet then he shouldn't have or picked another profession. She looked at me kind of dumb faced at first so I said it in Vietnamese again for her to understand. She apologized twice but it was a very petty apology. All in all, I wasted my time, money, and patience to tolerate such a bad business. If you're going to talk sh*t the logical thing to do was wait until I atleast left. I will NEVER come back here and make sure I tell everyone of their bad practice. You have been warned, and they do talk a lot of smack while working on clients nails which is pretty pathetic. I'll make the drive next time, lesson learned. (posted pictures of my nails as well.)

Pink and gold no-chip manicure by Lynne!
Yanyao N.

I am completely in love with the no chip manicures here. They have a ridiculous amount of pretty colors that can all be glitter-fied for when you want a little extra sparkle in your life. No drying time and color that doesn't chip for 2-3 weeks is my new favorite convenience. Regular no chips run $30 here (a steal!), and even better is the $25 Monday through Thursday no chip special. Pedicures are still great. I adore the ladies who work here. One time they fed me with all sorts of dried/flattened banana and sent me home with mooncakes. The Sunday hours (until 5:30pm) are really appreciated, and they show football on their TV! Note: Bring cash for tip! $12 minumum on credit cards.

My horrible paint job. My poor little toes!

Came with my sister for pedis. This is her regular spot and I really loved it too!…read more I love the ambiance it's not all white and bright lights like some salons, it's a lot warmer and more relaxing! The staff are all super nice and did a wonderful job (no cuts or bleeding ahah which happens sometimes during pedis but no they were perfect here!) I also liked their temporary shoes more than the rubber ones at other places and love that they give you a baggie with oil in it to put over your feet before putting shoes on to make sure that the polish doesn't get rubbed. I would wear flip flops normally but not during winter in Chicago of course, so I love that they pay extra attention and make sure your pedicure lasts :)

I've been in Chicago for almost eight years,…read moreand I can confidently say that Salon Chic has been the best nail salon experience I've had since moving here. I personally see either Sharon or Trang but have also seen the work of other technicians who seem to deliver great quality from what I can tell. Beyond the results which are fantastic, I LOVE the vibe of this salon. I've been to other nail salons that seem a bit "flat" or give an unpleasant vibe. This is not the case with Salon Chic. Every time I walk in, I'm greeted with a smile, and you can really tell that the staff enjoys working together and cares for one another - cheesy but it makes a huge difference for me. Unless I move to another area where I can't easily get to Salon Chic, I will ALWAYS be a customer of theirs! Thank you, Salon Chic! :)

After moving around the country for a few years, EWC was the best option for me to be able to use my wax pass in just about any city, but the Logan Square location is by far one of the best I've been to. No wonder they always book up- but if you call in, they can put you on a wait list and are almost always able to get you in if you can give few good windows of time. The staff here is always super friendly and helpful- Cori at the front desk is always delightful and quick to help on the phone or in person, and the ladies here are some of the best. Over the years I've had Myah, Melanie, Sofia and Carli who are all fantastic. No one is super pushy about buying the products (they often even give out samples if you're interested). As long as you can stay on a ~4 week schedule, getting a wax here is fairly painless. My latest wax with Carli FLEW by, I swear she had me in and out in 10 min for a bikini; and I barely felt a thing. Not to mention that she had me perfectly distracted and laughing the entire time! I highly recommend visiting the Logan Square EWC location if you're in the market for some self care.

This review is long overdue but they keep sending me emails so here I am…read more The last time I got a wax was 8/2022 and it was a pivotal moment in my decision to never get a wax again. The lady who was waxing me was rude, very short with me, and made me feel so uncomfortable. When I say had an attitude I mean she literally acted like she hated me. Mind you, I showered before I got a wax to prevent that HA! Waxing is such an intimate experience and the vibes have to be welcoming and warm. She was ripping away at my skin and I finally decided "yea I'd rather get laser then come back here every two weeks to feel like a burden"... sucks because I liked this place but that one experience messed it up for me. I was already having a tough day that day and now the lady who waxes me hates me too no thanks. I've been getting laser since then.
