Shocked to see the negative reviews on Lincoln Square Nails. I have been searching for the last 10 years of living in Chicago for the perfect place to get my nails done... this is it. They do a very thorough job. It's super clean and incredibly friendly. I've had almost everyone do my nails there, even the guys, and they all do an excellent job. I've never had a mediocre or pretty good mani pedi here. Ever. The naysayers here are probably those crazy people who bitch about everything, and are constantly giving bad reviews for those minor mistakes humans make from time to time. A week has gone by since my review and I'm actually ammending it, going from two stars to one. Even with putting on lotion multiple times per day as well as oil my cuticles are so cracked I'm now using straight Vasoline to heal them. This has never happened to me before in all the years I've done manicures. As I said previously, I'm not a regular every two-week customer of manicures, but I've had enough to know that this isn't right. And, the places that bled and were sensitive two days after? The nail gal was very friendly and did a job on my toes. However, I came in signed in and five minutes they had me in a pedi chair, which was great, but then sat there for 50 min. By that time the water was cool and I was bored just sitting their listening to elevator music until someone start pedi. I've been coming to have Lynn do my nails for three years now and can't recommend this nail salon enough. Always accommodating, friendly and professional. Recently I was looking for a color she didn't have in stock, and she was open to testing out a few ways to mix colors to get the desired effect, and it worked! Lincoln Square Nails still has it going on! Since my last review around when they reopened, they have been my regular nail salon. I go about once a month (less in the winter, more during the summer or if I have events to go to) and I think they have actually gotten even better. Lynn (owner) is so sweet and the other employees are super nice as well. They have more nail techs now so that helps being able to get in, but they have gotten popular so there are fairly long waits sometimes (peak times you would expect). I recommend calling ahead for an appointment because that seems to help. Even if you call right before you come in, they can let you know when you should stop by or how long the wait will be when you arrive. They still have all the best new colors and great selection. The newest Essie and OPI lines are always on display when I come in. I only get normal mani/pedis but they definitely last longer than when I go other places and their normal prices are even cheaper than the nail salon closer to my apartment who had "grand opening" discounts. I can't speak for the handful of people who have slammed this place but I would say don't let them deter you- even if LS Nails haven't always been perfect, they've been pretty awesome the many times I've been in and definitely one of the best nail salons I've ever gone to in the city read more

This place is great. Let me start by saying I am a total cheapskate when it comes to getting my nails done. I rarely do it and when I do, I do so with a gift certificate or a special occasion. Also, I'm always on the hunt for the $30 mani/pedi deal. Well, the "special occasion" for me was that I was now 7 months prego and just can't reach my tootsies well enough to do a good job. I called around The Square for the best deal that also had good Yelp ratings and found this place. $15 mani, $25 pedi and $30 mani/pedi during the week! I called and made an appointment just to be on the safe side, but they accept walk ins as well. As I entered I was asked the choose a color from their many choices of OPI and Essie polishes. I'm pretty sure they had every color that each brand offers. I was seated in a great massage chair and a very nice man did a very thorough job with my pedicure, spending a good 40 minutes or more to do the job. Everyone in the place was friendly and helped everyone with getting their sandals on so as not to mess up their newly polished toes. FYI even when paying with a credit or debit card, tips are cash only. Luckily, I read this in a previous review and was prepared. read more

I was new to Lincoln Square last year & still going back to the burbs to get my no chip manicure done because I couldn't find anyone in my area who was good. Then I found Lynn, the owner of this salon. Not only is she sweet, but her no chip manicures last 2 weeks (probably longer, but I'm rough on my nails & have to wash my hands frequently at my job.) I've been very happy with my manis & pedis from this salon. Also she has deals during the week which is nice ($5 off for example for a no chip). Went here with my sister and my niece. Revamp was busy and didn't have an opening so we stumbled in here. Worst place ever. Terrible customer service. Hard to see prices on their menu board. Not one to give 5 stars unless absolutely blown away but this place was GREAT! Popped in with my 2 sons on 4th of July for last minute Mani/Pedi before vacation out of town. The staff was attentive and pleasant . My older son and I were clients but they even cleaned up my younger one's nails while he was patiently waiting. Family feel. Clean. I went with a group, and one person in my group was sort of "forgotten" while her feet were in the pedicure bath, so she soaked her feet for a good half hour while the pedicurist worked on others. I love this place! The owner is really nice and always asks how my mom is doing (she came in with me once, like a year ago). I moved away from this neighborhood but regularly go here to get my eyebrows waxed. I had a few terrible experiences elsewhere and realized I need to stick with this place as they never mess them up (plus I get compliments on my eyebrows all the time). I also got a few no chip manicures here, they last super long and I am always amazed at how huge their color selection was. Lynn was so very sweet and I really enjoyed talking with her during my pedicure and no chip manicure. I made an appointment earlier today for this evening. She did a nice job with my feet, but parts were a tad painful (probably warranted, though). The color on my toes ended up not as solid as I like, but still a nice job. I wasn't feeling most of the no chip colors they had to choose from, but I found one that was close enough to what I wanted. Overall, I'm happy with my experience and the price was average. I've gotten a no-chip mani/pedi from here that lasted, no joke, over 1 & 1/2 months. I know you're not supposed to leave it on that long but I was overseas. It lasted through several airports and rifling through tons of baggage, sandy beaches and sun, and all the usual wear and tear your hands endure on a daily basis. Amazing. I subtracted one star because there was miscommunication between my artist and I; I wanted a different color on my hands than she had used on my toenails, but it wound up being the same. I only didn't have her take it off and correct it because I noticed after one hand was already done and I was on my way to the airport and didn't have time to spare. Also, it got a little painful when my cuticles started bleeding from being trimmed. To be fair, it's just something that happens, but it sucked having a giant red boo-boo on two of my fingers throughout my trip. Overall I recommend for a great no-chip, and I will be returning and hoping to give them that one extra star back! read more

I have tried many nail places which there are a ton of and they are not even close to the quality and personal experience you receive here. It takes barely any time to do a no chip which I have had take over an hour other places. They are always as accommodating as possible when you just walk in. Went here yesterday for a spa pedi and a no chip mani for some much needed pampering. There is nothing bad I can say about this place! First is cleanliness. Place is squeky clean. They washed the foot basin out before I jumped in, they pulled the utensils out of the autoclave right in front of me before using them, everything was clean. Next up is service. One thing that I can appreciate is the cues the ladies took from their customers. The other customers getting a mani pedi were into talking and had a full on conversation, I needed quiet and relaxing, and thats what it was, not a lot of talking. They let the customer guide the conversation, if necessary, and that is big in my book. I was able to sit in their awesome massage chair (it was pretty damn good), and get pampered. They knew what they were doing, no pain, no bleeding, finished product is one of the best ones I've had. Lastly is price. This, is a steal. Mon through Thurs this package is $45, but since I went on Friday it was $55. She let me know and I said it was well worth it. Tip, is to tip in cash-o-la, which I never carry so I apologized. She wasn't mean or fussy about it, after talking about the service industry she let me know that when tips are added to charges, they have to wait until payday to get them, which I didn't know. Another tidbit I didn't know what that she is a new owner/manager, and purchased the business in May, from a less than great previous owner with bad service. So, if you went here before then, give it a try, and you will not be disappointed! read more

I just had my first and last pedicure here, primarily because the pedicurist cut so much of the skin on my toes and missed the cuticles. The skin surrounding my toes is actually raw. She also rushed through the manicure, which I didn't understand, since the place was practically empty. I would have been fine with the fact that the place is dark and a bit depressing, the bottles of nail polish are not in any order, and the pedicurist didn't acknowledge me until I asked her how she was doing. But, the pedicure was so shotty - and at times, painful - that I just can't give Lincoln Square Nails more than one star. read more
