Cold night so the tortilla soup hit the spot with wonderful veggies including squash. Chips were crunchy and fresh and the salsa with roasted tomatoes couldn't have been better. Thicker salsa. The margarita with Gran Marnier was just the perfect mix and plenty of tequila. Topped the meal off with a perfectly roasted flan. The server was super knowledgeable and her recommendations were spot on. They have a fun patio and if it hadn't been raining, that would have been the place to be. I really want to like this place! I visited about two weeks after they opened. Unfortunately, they didn't have their liquor license yet, so I was unable to indulge in any margaritas, but I hear that they are now serving alcohol! So, I have to visit again. The food is just ok. I had the street tacos (one shrimp and the other chorizo), and I was underwhelmed. It was just a taco - nothing special. Came here with the family for Sunday dinner and so glad we did! We got an order of the nachos, shrimp tacos, Diego burrito and Del Mar Enchiladas. Everything was so good except for my husband burrito. He says it was really dry. Will definitely be back for the tacos and nachos! They were absolutely delicious. Eh I am not sure I would be Back The service was goodness but I wasn't overly impressed with my tacos. I landed on the Barbacoa and to be honest the meat was so greasy I only got two. However the chips and salsa that came to the table were pretty good I feel like the taco was a concept but for me the meat was just too greasy flavorful enough I suppose. My flan was OK that I decided To get . So I've avoided coming to Lime and Salt because of the reviews and someone told me personally that the restaurant was not good. Months after the opening, I decided to give them a try on my way home for lunch. I started with chips and salsa and my meal were the chicken enchiladas. Everything was good! I'm mad that I didn't use my own judgement to try Lime and Salt out for myself. I pretty much only eat enchiladas when I visit Mexican restaurants and I enjoyed mine here. The rice was flavorful and the chicken and sauce on the enchiladas were seasoned just right. Now I wish they had white cheese dip for the tortilla. The service here was phenomenal. My server was very attentive and super friendly. I was disappointed about that but people go check them out for yourselves! read more

We went to Lime and Salt for lunch, so excited to try a new place other than our usual Mexican restaurants. The atmosphere was pleasant enough, maybe 1/3 full so we expected service to be good. We were there at least 10 minutes before anyone came to take a drink order and then they were slow in coming. We really didn't mind because we had a lot to catch up on but the service never got much better. The place is small and it shouldn't have taken as long as it did to bring us our meals and drinks. I know how it works. I've worked both front and back of house in restaurants. You could see the entire bar and server area so there was no clear reason for delays. The food was ok. The cheese chorizo appetizer was like nothing I've ever had. The cheese was thick and stringy, you really needed a knife to cut it and the chorizo topping was very greasy. I mean, very greasy, like puddles of grease. Did I say it was greasy? It was served with soft flour tortillas but it was almost impossible to get any of it in the tortilla. I asked for a basket of chips thinking that it might be easier to eat it but it took 10 minutes for the chips to get from the kitchen to the maybe 30 feet to our table. We both had burrito bowls which were ok but nothing to write home about, or come back for. The drinks, watermelon margaritas, a margarita with sangria(?) and regular margaritas were good so maybe just come for cocktails if you just want to hang out with friends. If Lime and Salt works with their wait staff to ensure a better dining experience I might come back and try other things but our lunch time here was nothing we'd want to repeat as it stands. read more

For our weekly takeout (and we did this prior to Covid!) we decided to try the new Mexican restaurant in town. So glad we did! Yummm DD said ordering on the phone was not great, and we weren't sure we'd get exactly what we hoped for, but it all turned out fine. It would be lovely if they can get online ordering started sometime soon, because we will be buying again! I chose 2 street tacos, 1 of carnitas and 1 of chicken. Both were delectable, well-spiced and the meats were juicy. I would have liked a bit more of the pork. Between all of us, we had a mole enchilada, Ceasar salad (note: I thought this was misspelled, but apparently the owner is named Ceasar. This is why there was no Caesar dressing, lol!) and birria street tacos, as well as nachos. Everything was very fresh; the lettuce crispy and the tomatoes perfectly ripe. I ordered Taquitos and enchilada clasica. The Taquitos were dry and flavorless; I was so disappointed because I usually love barbacoa. The only thing that made these worth eating was the tomatoes, sour cream, and cheese that came with them. The meat was also very dry. The enchiladas were just OK. I have definitely had better. The refried beans are the same as you can get in a can. This was disappointing since this was for New Years Eve. Bring back Pachanga! Once we tasted the food, we ended up ordering from The Hideaway and that food was delicious! read more

Overall, I like Lime and Salt and will continue to go there for tacos and margaritas. I LOVE their plain old house margarita, it is fantastic. For a lot of other Mexican restaurants in the area you have to order the more expensive margaritas to get the good flavor without so much sweetness/sugar. They really knock the margaritas out of the park. I've been here probably close to ten times. The first time I came was just after opening at an off-peak hour. My tacos were great, the suadero taco literally made my day it was such an amazing blend of meat and citrus. Never had anything like it. However, every single time I go back, I'm disappointed in the tacos. They're not bad -- they're fine -- but definitely not my choice on where to go simply based on the food. I've brought numerous different people here, and the conclusion is almost always the same... it's like they're afraid to use flavor and seasoning in their tacos, especially on the meat itself. I've never had a suadero that matched my first taco, and sometimes it is so bland you think they forgot the whole citrus part. While I appreciate that they give me a warmed corn tortilla as my taco... most places double the corn tortillas because the tortillas fall apart. If you let your taco sit for more than a few seconds, it will totally break and the struggle is on to eat a crumbling taco. Not a huge deal, and probably good for the waistline, but they are one of the only Mexican restaurants I've been to that doesn't give you chips/salsa. You have to order them from the menu if you want them... they're only $2 so not that expensive, but still. If you're a spicy fan, we were told they do not have hot salsa, just mild. The service has always been good for me, the food good enough, and the margaritas great. Love supporting a local place, so I'll be back. Definitely worth checking out and coming to your own conclusion. read more

It's good to have a neighborhood restaurant back! I had high hopes for Lime and Salt. It looks bright and clean inside. It took staff a bit longer than what feels comfortable to acknowledge us and take a drink order, but our server was very nice. Important to note that chips and salsa have to be ordered and cost $2.50. The salsa is served warm and has a nice smoky flavor. The Chile con queso has no flavor at all, costs $9, and has the general look and feel of chunky velveeta. Once I mixed the salsa into it, it was better, but not $9 better. I ordered a fish taco and the tomatillo salsa served with it gave it its only favor. Don't skimp on this bright, fresh flavored green salsa. I also got the Alhambra taco, which was totally overwhelmed by the mushroom taste. I wouldn't order this again. Overall, everything but the green salsa is bland. I'm looking forward to trying it again to see if I can find something I like. read more

The restaurant would have you believe it serves Mexican food, but Mexican it is NOT. My colleagues ordered our lunch to go from Lime & Salt, so I didn't experience the environment inside the restaurant. I ordered the Burro, a chicken burrito bowl. It tasted fresh but bland, like hospital food bland, or it was made for a toddler bland. Most of my dish was iceberg lettuce, with a little bit of cold shredded cheese, some undercooked flavorless black beans, slightly seasoned rice, and strips of grilled chicken (they also offer shredded chicken but I didn't see it on the menu). Chips weren't included with our meals even though it states on the menu chips & salsa are included, and they didn't provide enough plasticware for all the meals we ordered. I didn't get sick from eating the boring meal, so that's why it gets one star. If you want Mexican food, go elsewhere, anywhere but here. read more

Bland food. This was my second and probably last visit to Lime and Salt. The location is convenient, parking is generally easy, the restaurant is clean, and service was prompt. To be fair, many of the reviews mention the great drinks available from L&S, but I went there for tacos, not the drinks. Between my two visits, I sampled several items on their menu and found all of them too bland for my taste. I was not looking for spicy hot mexican food, but there was just an overall lack of flavor. This time I had guacamole & chips, and had to ask for salsa to give it some flavor. The tacos were nice to look at, but the fillings were savorless. I wish them well, but we will take our business elsewhere. read more

This place is an absolute favorite and much needed addition to the otherwise outdated local options. MUCH better quality and pricing than the previous restaurant in this location or the other Mexican restaurant down the road. Family friendly from open to close, but still a place you can cut loose with a small group of adults over a pitcher or fishbowl of margaritas. Considerably more welcoming than the other local restaurants, fantastic taco options, and fun twists on Mexican favorites! Always check the specials menu! You never know what awesomeness they're cooking up and the seasonal drinks never disappoint. Brunch is a new favorite too, slowly working my way through the menu each visit and no disappointment yet. This place was an answer to my prayers after moving from California. Will continue visiting frequently read more

After reading the reviews, I soooo wanted to love this place. The service was excellent and the employees all paid attention to the customer needs. Truly, the team work was ON POINT! Customer service and professionalism get 5 Stars! The environment was nice and the live music was also enjoyable, rating 4 stars. Unfortunately the food fell short for me. The tortilla soup was fresh but extremely bland, borderline boring. The fried fish taco was decent but definitely not memorable. My entree was a fresh and hearty ceasar salad, which was definitely the best of the 3 food items ordered. It had a different dressing then a standard ceasar and it was delicious. I'd definitely order it again if I venture this way. Lastly the frozen strawberry margarita was by far most disappointing of everything. The ice chunks were so large it was impossible to use a straw and it was extremely weak. So you wonder, do I favor strong drinks? Nope, I like a balanced margarita but this was more like frozen water with a hint of flavor. I gave up trying to drink it. Sorry, I didn't try the desert so can't give feedback. Overall, the experience was okay. Heads up, if you sit on the back of the restaurant, be aware that folks will constantly walk by your table to get to the restrooms and it's not a lot of space between tables. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised last night when we stopped in for dinner. I had read and heard mixed reviews so hadn't jumped at the chance until we had a friend in town that was craving some Mexican and this was close to home. I LOVE a good margarita but hate when a mix is used, and was so pumped that they had the Fresca margarita made with just lime and agave. Delish. My friend as well as husband had the mango margaritas that they loved as well. You have to pay for chips and salsa ($2) so we got that, and ordered a few things. My husband had a mix of fajitas (salmon and steak) which he said were great. My friend had the enchiladas and she had so much left she brought half home (huge portion). I had two tacos - the steak and the shrimp. Both excellent! I love tacos and was so excited you could mix and match. They have street tacos, as well as full size. And I liked that the burritos you had the option of getting in a bowl. The menu is not huge which is good because I can get overwhelmed with too many choices. I think next time I'll try the enchiladas. They were definitely feeling the pain of not having a huge staff, our server was sweet and very apologetic but she was slammed. We recently moved here from San Diego, where you can get quality Mexican food basically on every corner. We've tried a handful of local places and were very disappointed. Until... LIME AND SALT!! This is THE place! Everything was authentic, delicious and fresh. We had the spicy margarita, chips and guac, mole enchiladas and a Diego burrito.
