Our wait staff used her extra time to answer questions we had about the menu and a few dishes, and just be a very kind and helpful person. We ordered the fried pickles and shrimp étouffée appetizers, followed by a hamburger with sweet potato fries and 2 fish/6 shrimp with fries. Everything came out in very generous quantities and perfect temperatures. The fried pickles represented in a light batter that we very much enjoyed. The burger came to the table a perfect medium-rare as ordered. The fish and shrimp were perfect battered, respectively, in a cornmeal and crispy mix. Drinks were refilled as they approached empty status. I really believe this is a gem of a local restaurant and worth a try next time you are in the area.

Came in one afternoon for a solo lunch and was surprised to learn they don't offer grilled oysters…read more For a place that has "Oysters" in the name, that was a bit disappointing--and I'm sure fellow grilled-oyster lovers would feel the same. That said, the service was pretty cool and fast. I sat at the bar and was taken care of right away. I ended up ordering the Alex Botana which is boiled shrimp in a red sauce with lime juice and potatoes... not a fan and the shrimp was not clean. The restaurant itself is vibrant and full of color, with plenty of room and multiple TVs--great for watching sports and just chilling. Overall, solid vibe and service, but missing grilled oysters was a letdown for me.

I am not sure what happened…read more Sure. Somewhere between the late 2010's and the 2020's something changed. But did it? Did it really? Well, sort of. Yes the government artificially raised beef prices, taxes, gasoline, etc and yes economics. But did that LOWER service expectations while raising prices of the food? Hmm. I remember Fogo as an EXPERIENCE!!! Staff running around CONSTANTLY!!! Your personal waiter always attentive and checking on your needs...Now it seems they have attempted to replace quality with quantity. YES you can have a Rolls Royce...but it shares its chassis with a BMW. Not like an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra...one is just a chassis with crap put on it...the other is a bespoke well oiled micro machine (heh...remember those...I'm old). I was tickled with the "Fogo Taste of Brazil" half price for Fogo was sent to me...much like HRW it should be the what..."taste of the dregs bong water? " We were seated quickly. I asked for a more intimate seating for my wife and I special occasion and was told we won't get served over there and we were sat at the a$$ end of the restaurant...thats when I knew the jig was up and waited. Before we sat the waitress asked if we wanted anything to drink...I knew I wanted a Guaraná but asked for some time. We were pressed for a wine cocktail order and again I gently reminded them we had been here 3.5 seconds and not even sat...The menu was "explained" in 1.5 seconds and then taken. As soon as I mentioned we were there for the "Taste of Brazil"...Poof...Like Kaiser Soze. Yep. The HRW ghost lives on. We were now in "quarantine those people" space. I know the game. Coax people in. Give them the dregs in hopes it is enough to coax more business. I fell for it. SO...lets kick off this..review Arriving at the table hot pao de queijo was waiting. More on this later. Being a pro...and 15 minutes after repeated attempts to put us on the regular menu we finally went to the salad bar. Salad Bar. Impeccable. Missing a few things from days past. Chimmi, Maduros, yuca, and polenta. More on this also to come. Back to table card turned to green. LETS GO!!!! Uhhh no. We waited 15 minutes. Bread gone. Wife loves salad so consumed. No Meat. Meat arrives! OMG Picanha!!!!! YAS. Succulent. Medium rare. Well salted. Delicious. And got one little sliver each...and dude was gone. Tried to ask for more but nope. Dude turned and bolted. Next 5 min later was bottom round. No. Then pineapple? No. then bottom round again. No. Well tried pineapple guy came back every 90 seconds. Requested picanha, sausage, filet, ribeye, and chicken. Garlic beef (diabolical) showed up. Requested picanha, sausage, filet, ribeye, and chicken. And after being there 2.5 hours. No "premium" ever offered even right after they served the table in front of us. Finally got some chicken legs. Not the garlic chicken breast so we tried them. Wingstop? Just bigger? PICANHA showed up...so under cooked it was bright red in the middle and inedible. Old cut re-fired and not that well. The sausage presented to us was literally black. No. No bone in ribeye even though I watched it go by. I waved the dude down...made eye contact he kept walking. No filet. I waved the dude down...made eye contact he kept walking. No chicken. I waved the dude down...made eye contact he kept walking. No Pao. I literally asked 5 people for bread service until I got up and walked over to the server station and asked for some damn bread. To sum up the food experience I had hyped to my wife for a month...I have seen monkey excrement fights at the zoo more organized than this place. And thanks for shaming though you offered We had 8 waiters. The "meat staff" seemed like they had no idea where they were going. The couple in front of us must not have used the "Taste of Brazil" code. They got bread, maduros, yucca, and polenta every 30 seconds. We finally got 2 bowls of pao after now 8 requests from 6 people and I filled up on it. I am done... TLDR: $150 later this was...I am sorry $8it food and $150 of bread and salad. Get it together Fogo. Servers were nice as hell as confused as they were. Managers 3 of them were pushy as hell to leave a good review. This is like being kicked in the doodads then asking if you will review this cup without wearing it. Sure will. Location? (shoulda gone to Mickey Ds next door) 1/5. Staff? 2/5. Who the hell was our waiter? Nice people. Seemed lost as did the meat bearers. Or did they? Food? .5/5. Diabolically bad. Fogo is dead. Long Live Cheesecake Factory. That is about 1000 times better food...which is REALLY sad. Rock solid 1.5 stars. And that is generous. I am taking my personal feelings out of this. But thanks for ruining my wife and I's date night. 1/50 of your staff saved that star. Tania? You rocked. Do not shove a cards in my face and tell me to review you before I even paid the bill and tell me to give you the cards back. Management. Get your $8it together.

Every dish was fresh, flavorful and prepared to meet the standards. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the service made us feel right at home. We are beyond thrilled to have them back and have some real Cuban cuisine in the neighborhood. There is always a lot to choose from. We especially love their fresh salmon and tuna sashimi, fried blue crabs, cocktail shrimps, short ribs, wonton soup, fried pepper shrimps, calamari, crawfish, egg drop soup, ice-cream, etc. Everything is clean and well-kept, and the ambient is nice, so it makes it easy to take our time to relax after a long day.

My friend had the meal: a piece of fried fish and fried shrimp along with signature seafood rice. My lunch plate was $15, my friends was almost $25, so not a cheap meal for lunch. The service started well, but she sort of forgot about us for tea and water refills later. The food tasted fine. Their signature cocktail sauce was spicey--not too spicy, but a little thin in my opinion and could be thicker. The place was clean and quiet since we were the only ones there excluding the staff.

This place has been Mexican Restaurants and Seafood spots in the past but this time I think they finally nailed it. It has basically the same layout as it's predecessors however with upgrades and much cleanliness. But the best upgrade ever here is... The Food! I ordered the whole catfish which was served surprisingly with shrimp fried rice a salad and some fries. This catfish is served headless which is perfect and the flavors is one of the best whole catfish I've had in ALL of Houston. Yes even better than Captain Toms which is up the street. The shrimp fried rice was extremely good. Ranks as one of the better shrimp fried rice spots I've had outside of China town. Although its made up of popcorn sized shrimp, the flavor profile is phenomenal. Let me note that as a seafood spot they also have some great fajita and chicken alternatives for tacos and quesadillas. Including even a hamburger however I did not try them. The drinks from the bar are nicely balanced and the presentation of them are wonderful. The authenticity of this Mexican style seafood spot is on par and the flavors are perfect on the seafood items I've tried so far. Oh and the bathrooms are spotless and clean. That makes a major difference in eating establishments. This spot is definitely a staple in the area and I highly recommend this place over any other major chain Seafood spot. They deserve the red carpet in the seafood space. Be Blessed and Prosper

Authentic Dominican/Caribbean food in Willowbrook. Who knew?…read more I remember this place from a birthday party decades ago. The space was a bit bigger (they've since redesigned it smaller), but the crowds were smaller. Success hasn't tarnished their food. It was a very rainy and soggy afternoons and the place was packed. We managed a table and ordered. Can't go wrong with the delicious shrimp mofongo. I honestly think the sauce is the icing on that cake, made all the more delicious with a squeeze of lemon. Whew! Service was fast and dinner came out at a reasonable pace. The owner is so friendly and stopped by our table to make sure things were good. Better than good! If you're in the Willowbrook area do yourself a favor and stop in for lunch or dinner. Prices are a little steep, but what's isn't these days?

I ordered the pollo guisado and moro, both were good and we have a little left over. My partner ordered the pica pollo and the fried chicken was decent. The food does take some time, and servers did not check in too often so I would recommend ordering ahead of time (unless you have a long lunch break), There are plenty of tables, but it is a little dark inside, 2 bathrooms inside. The juice was on the sweet side so just watered it down (wish they have smoothies), but they get 5 stars overall for the flavor and the price point. Plenty of parking as it's in located along other stores.
