Employee charged me up like she wanted to fight me!! Went to pickup an order my husband called in. The lady at the front told me they didn't have the order and to let her check. She was extremely rude and short. After talking on the phone and searching for the order for awhile, she went onto other closing tasks like sweeping and wouldn't communicate what happened to my order or if they could make it. I was just standing there as she ignored me. We had already been charged so I was trying to figure out how to at least get a refund. After she ignored me multiple times I took a picture of her ignoring me. She came around the counter at me screaming "you're crazy!!" I was just trying to figure out where my food and money was. Still never got an answer. If this is how you think it's okay to treat customers, good luck.

We thought we were about to have an amazing experience. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The empanadas and fried yuca appetizers were so good. Then he took our order. The server was quite attentive. We were wrapping up our meal. A few minutes later it happened! One group of 12 walked in. And we lost our server. He hasn't been back to our table in 40 minutes!!!!!! We're ready to pay and leave and no one is coming to attend to us. This is ridiculous. I don't plan to ever return.

Food was good, the Cuban tamale was best though. This one didn't give me the vibe I was looking for. Glad to have gave this place a try.

I've really enjoyed my visits to this Cuban restaurant, and I look forward to my next visit! The staff has been very accommodating for small tables and larger family visits (can call to reserve a larger table since they only seat about 30-50 people at a time). Although I've only attached photos of the mofongo and bandeja appetizer, my favorite dish was the vaca frita! Quantity and quality was above average, and I would get this on my return visit as well. Each entree runs somewhere between ~$10-$15, and they are quite tasty! If you're looking for something other than the traditional Tex-Mex options in the Cypress area, I'd recommend this spot for some great Latin-American home cooking!

Having have been to South Florida a handful of times last year, each time we went to a Cuban restaurant to try...both were excellent, when I was surfing Yelp for eats around this part of Houston I came across Rice and Beans ... and I knew I just had to try! I didn't have high expectations at first (since it was Cypress and not Miami) but I was proved wrong! We ordered 2 entrees for dinner, pork chops and my personal favorite the vaca frita. Both entrees came with rice & beans (of course) and plantains. I loved the vaca frita more than the pork chops, but both were excellent and pretty much on par to what I had in Florida. If you're looking for some authentic Cuban food around these parts of Houston, it's def worth a trip!

Food was seriously bland, and the steak was like rubber. The quality of food has definitely declined over the years.

Noticing Cuban eats with this truck, I decided on the Cuban oxtails special with the plaintain chips and rice/peas (beans) made. The oxtails were tender greasy and came of the bone very easily. Rice and peas had good flavor and the plaintain chips had nice texture with a touch of sweetness. It's pricy at just under $30; but that's due to oxtail prices increasing over the years. Of course I prefer to pay less but who wouldn't? Other menu items include cuban frijoles, salads, pastas, pastries, pizzas, and rice dishes. Not sure of the schedule for this truck as there's been times at this park where I didn't see them open. Good thing I caught them on the last Sunday in February. Definitely will try the other items when I'm back here. Gosling food truck park comes through again!

The shredded beef dish is absolutely the best Cuban food I have ever had. The beef was moist and tender, and beautifully seasoned. Just the right amount of fat for good mouth feel. The rice and beans soaked up this flavor and made the dish complete. I would eat this again anytime. The plantains were well cooked and a nice semi-sweet complement to the meal. The salad was lightly dressed and was also a good complement. The truck is one of the less flashy ones in the Plaza De Los Food Trucks, so you have to know the food and want it. I found their menu a little confusing--it lists all the components of a plate separately, and it's not clear how you would build a combo. Our server that evening did not speak English and our Spanish is not that good, but she got her husband on the phone and everything went well. They are very polite people. The menu lists desserts but they didn't have any that evening. I would look forward to trying them another time. I definitely want to pay another visit, perhaps to try the pork platter or the paella (not listed on the menu).

I also ordered their strawberry lemonade, which had a thicker consistency for juice. It was refreshing and had just the right amount of sweetness and tartness. Their drinks are solid. I tried the Cuban sandwich, which was okay in my opinion. As I dove right into it, the pork flavor was interesting & every few pieces of the outer meat were a tad bit hard. When I ate it later for dinner though, the sandwich tasted so much better for some reason. Lol maybe cuz everything was marinating and softening idk. It's good, but I wouldn't order this sandwich again. I prefer chicken. I tried some of my dad's fricasa de cerdo. Loved it! Reminded me of a stew, but I would not drink the whole bowl because it is on the saltier side. It was served extra hot, and the chicken was tender. For the sides, my dad got the fried ripe plantains (sweet and soft) and the fried yucca sticks (tastes like potatoes - crispy on the outside), which paired nicely with a garlic sauce. Service was great! They are very warm and kind to their customers. I highlyyyy recommend this place to anyone looking for good Cuban cuisine. It's never too busy or loud when we go. Plenty of parking!

Normally you order at the front desk, but they helped us in our table since we were a group of 10. It's a small place with about 4 tables and only one restroom. The girl that helped us was attentive. One complaint is that they have Pepsi and not Coke but that's a personal preference. Food is ok, someone ordered Queso Frito, for my taste was too salty. But the Tostones with pork meat were really good. I got mofongo with camarones, the shrimp were good size, the mofongo was too dry but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that, I noticed they serve the mofongo not in the traditional way, which is like in a cup shape the protein in the middle, here they serve the mofongo in the shape of a small cake and the protein on the side. The arroz con gandujes was good and the pork was good. I feel they have potential. The restroom situation (only one) is not ideal though.
