Nice cozy, quaint establishment tucked away. I had dinner on a Saturday evening. The service was good. The snapper bites appetizer was fresh and flaky. We also had the empanadas the beef and pastelon--surprised on how big they were. My chicken dish was flavorful as well as my beans. The chicken was a little overdone, but it's all good. Please know there is no beer/wine/cocktail menu.

This restaurant had some great food with an abundance of variety. I met with a coworker to have lunch but the food was flavored perfectly and my palate was very well satisfied. The guy at the counter was the server as well and did a great job of explaining everything on the menu. The place was quaint and very clean.

I happen to catch El Caribeno having just started opening for breakfast on Sunday morning. This is an absolutely do not miss this place. The owners are always present and it is family run. The breakfast torta was absolutely phenomenal. You would think that there are only a few ways to make bacon eggs and cheese but these breakfast sandwiches are next level. Bacon is thick cut and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Also in our order was an Empa Del Campo that was an absolute sweet and savory with a fantastic balance. The restaurant is fantastically clean and has a nice open and airy decor. It was great experience and we will be going back again.

Today my sister, my friend and I decided to try something new and I knew just the spot! It's all our first time here and I must say everything was a 12/10! Soooo flavorful and delicious. Matthew and his family who run the place are really putting their love in each plate they serve. We will definitely be back!!! Thank you Matt and family!

Food was DELICIOUS! Appetizers came out quickly and were good. The alcapurria was big enough to share and full of meat. The empanadilla de pizza was standard size but full of cheese. The bifongo was moist and oh so flavorful and the churrasco was made to perfection. The tripleta was loaded and the bread was soft. This is a small place but the food is consistently good and the service is top notch. This is the 4th time we visit this restaurant and I can say this is the best Puerto Rican food in the Houston area.

Open at 11 and yet not open! Last time we came here!

Worst place ever. Not open at the time it says. 11 and it's now 12:30. Last time they had no arroz con gandulez which is like going to any Hispanic spots and having no rice and beans. Staff is unprofessional. Phone doesn't work. What are we doing here?! Terrible service. Does not represent Puerto Rico well at all.

Menu- good selection and everything we had was great.

Everything was delicious. El Caribeño exceeded my expectations from the food to the service. The waiter was extremely nice and took care of us from start to end. The place is in a shopping plaza - a smaller place with good ambiance. Highly recommended if you're looking for good Latin food or trying something new.

While this was my first time to dine here it appeared to me that it is a chain restaurant by the signage and decor. I wanted to try their fried chicken and the prices are quite low so I ordered the 4 pc fried chicken meal that comes with french fries for just $10! I asked for dark meat and they said it would take 8 minutes to prepare. While I waited, I did visit their self serve fountain drink machine. The food arrived in a big bag and after emptying it I found a box with 4 pieces of fried chicken sitting on a large bed of french fries. I was amazed at the quantity of the food given for just $10. The chicken was hot and the fries were not. In fact they were barely warm. Why do you give me fresh cooked hot chicken and old cold fries? On top of that the hot chicken was not that tasty. I have had far better. It wasn't bad but it wasn't that good either. Yes, the food is inexpensive and the serving size large but give me more taste and flavor both in the chicken and fries.

I've always gotten the fritanga which I feel you can't go wrong with. The fritanga comes with your choice of meat between beef or pork, though there may be another option I'm not thinking of. I've always gotten it with beef (carne asada) which my family and I love. It comes with your choice of gallo pinto or arroz con gandules, and I always get gallo pinto since I'm not a fan of the alternative in general, but never had it here. It also comes with your choice of maduro or tajadas (forms of plantain) and delicious queso frito (fried cheese). Again, this is my go to and will continue to be. The reason I gave 4 stars vs 5 is because of the gallo pinto. I'm blessed enough to have family who has made it my entire life which is way better. It wouldn't be fair to hold this against the restaurant because of this alone, but theirs legit just tastes like unseasoned rice and beans mixed together. Everything else is delicious. We also got their quesillo which is basically a big tortilla covered with beans and cream and cheese. This was a 6/10 for me. Their enchiladas Nica was amazing and huge. Will def get this again. I recommend checking them out if you haven't already!

You also have the option of vegetable fried rice or fries (you can do half/half), but the pork fried rice seemed to be the most popular. I was not disappointed. I've had BBQ boneless ribs years ago and have been chasing that same flavor ever since, and this really hit the spot. The ribs were flavorful, the portions were huge, and the prices were super affordable. If this place were any closer to my house, I could easily see it becoming a regular (maybe even a little dangerous lol). Either way, I'll gladly make the drive when the craving hits. The turnaround time was very quick. honestly, the longest part of my visit was just deciding what to order. Overall, this spot exceeded my expectations. Between the fast service, generous portions, and variety on the menu, I'm already looking forward to coming back to try their other options.
