Very authentic and great service. The family enjoyed all their food and it was very well prepared. I thought the anticuhos were some of the best I've had in a long time. read more

Entree was delicious. Wish the beer selection was a bit better. If they had central/south american beers (Club Colombia Roja???) I think they would be a lot more popular. read more

Wow! What a pleasant surprise. Food was amazing, wine selection was nice and service was great! Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back.

Great comfort Peruvian food Lots of dishes to try, each one superb Desserts and Pisco Sour's are a Must Inexpensive, well located, lots of parking space read more

Went here with a coworker during our lunch break. The web site and exterior convey a semi posh venue bit the interior was surprisingly bland. No atmosphere. I have no real complaints about the price or service or food. The latter was tasty and sufficiently portioned, though nothing to sing about. I'm not in a hurry to go back but wouldn't protest if a friend invited me there to eat. read more

Are you FREAKIN' kidding me? This place is amaze-sauce. Tried to go to the new sushi conveyor belt restaurant (2 hour wait), tried to go to the new Pluckers (not yet opened), drove by this place and decided to stop (because my brother said so). I'd always been afraid to go in 'cause of the weird blacked-out windows adjacent, but it turns out they belong to the unrented store-front next door. This is an unassuming joint with amazing prices and even better food. I knew the second I walked in it was going to be good. The smiling patrons joyously shoveling food into their faces were a big hint. All of the dishes looked delicious, too! These guys don't win with presentation. I could arrange food on a plate better at home. But dear %#!&$, I could never cook this good at home. I'm not going to say the food is healthy and I'm not going to say the service is on-point (please work on this), but I will for sure be back! Regarding the tilapia ceviche comments made by another reviewer, I agree - tilapia ain't my fish of choice, but we are in landlocked Austin. However, I would be more excited to buy/try it if it were red snapper. But then, how much would that cost? Dear Lima Criolla, please open a Peruvian cevicheria near my house! read more

Do not order from this place. We ordered from grub hub at 645 said it would be delivered by 744. We called the restaurant and they said they do not have the order. They said that their system must have been down. The driver was there and called and asked if I wanted to cancel my order. Are you kidding me. The owner or manager got on the phone and told me that the kitchen was closed and that there is nothing they can do and they would not be providing me food. I explained to them that we have been waiting for over an hour and how do they not call us or try to make it right. He said you need to contact grub hub. As an owner I of a store I would of made the food that would of taken less than 10 min to make to make a customer happy. He could not care less. This was the first time I ordered and if food was good we would go back. Now there is no way in heck that I would ever support this company. read more

Omg,i love this place. It has the best fried rice ever! I always have my husband stop by and grab some on his way home...

Love the ceviche! All the dishes I have tried have been excellent. The owner is extremely friendly and welcoming. I'm so glad there is one good Peruvian restaurant in town. We lived in DC for a few years and were spoiled with the wide variety of restaurants. read more

First that I wen there and the food is very good. It's a must try if you want something different. People are friendly and it's good to try.

The Bistec Pobre is our favorite!!! I sub salad for fries, but my hubbie loves it as it comes.

Attentive service, consistently good food. Empanadas were yummm.

I've never had Peruvian cuisine before, but this was right across the street from my hotel so I thought I'd check it out. I was craving seafood anyway, so the ceviche was an easy choice and delicious! Huge helping and the hominy/corn and sweet potato was a nice compliment. The pisco sour was refreshing and delicious, and the pineapple prune pudding defied my expectations and would make an amazing pancake topping lol. Great experience! read more

This place is great! True Peruvian cuisine, excellent service. Can't go wrong with most menu items. Favorites: Aji de gallina and Arroz con anything. Pisco sours are also a nice touch. read more

This is the only place in Austin where I can find chicken soup as good as my mother made. It brings me back. In fact, I have not have had a disappointing dish in many visits. The food is great. The ambience os crowded. read more

Hate to give a bad review but this place is very bland. I ordered the lomo saltado and tallarin saltado and they were hands down the least flavorful saltados I've ever had. The first red flag is that they use Tilapia for their ceviche!!! Wtf?!!! TILAPIA?!!! The nastiest fish in fresh water as the option to eat ceviche style?!!! That's just disgusting! read more

Best Ají de Gallina I've tried in the states. Food is refreshing and flavorful. Friendly staff. Great lunch specials.

Been going to Limo Criolla since it's inceptio as La Chapparita in the Highland Mall Food Court. When asked what restaurant I wanted to go to for my Birthday, I requested La Chapparita or Lima Criolla at least 5 times since 2010. The lomo saltado is one of my favorite all time dishes. The sauce is 5 star awesome! read more

Went there on a Saturday night at 5:30 with a party of three. Sat right down, but place was lively. Most tables were taken and menus and water were given right away. Server took our drinks and appetizer and off she went. Thats when I realized all the tables that were there had not been served. The server came with drinks and we decided to put our meals in because we had an 8pm movie at the theater next door. There is no host so people were coming in and not being greeted, which was annoying when we were placed by the door. They literally just stood while the server were giggling with the cooks or just standing around. Appetizer of fried seafood came out and it was very good, though the fish was undercooked. Never was our table touched, no water refills or clean silverware. The party next to us ordered, waited, received cold empanadas and after waiting to even be asked if everything was ok went up to get someone. They told them it was cold and that they needed the check. The check never came so they left cash on table and walked out. Meanwhile our empanadas were also cold inside but there was no use trying to get anyone's attention. At 7:15 we said we really needed to go so if we could pay and get ours boxed that would be great. The server assured my son, who had to walk up to the counter to ask, that food would arrive shortly. Our food came at 7:45 and we asked for check and togo boxes. Boxes never came but the check did. We were appalled to see gratuity already placed! We were a party of three l, why would 18% be automatically put on the bill? We went up to the counter and the young girl said we can call the manager, she couldn't figure out the pos. Food was going out incomplete, you waited forever, no customer service, no ambiance (but I don't really care about that), no host, no organization, no leader around. Just a bunch of untrained staff and cooks that seemed understaffed. The food was decent, though our entrees were overcooked. The food alone can't bring me back to this place. Too many places in Austin that know how to treat guests, and to put gratuity on was extremely tacky I won't be back and I won't recommend Owner wrote back stating they "will try extra hard next time"?! Nothing mentioned about 18% gratuity added and no manager on duty on a Saturday night Sorry first impressions are really important, and avoiding the issues are as well read more

is ok, prices are decent, we tried the rice with seafood and ceviche , drinks , pisto tradicional, but nothing outstanding that makes me come back. read more

Went to a show at AFS and then on friend's and Yelp recommendations popped in here for an early dinner on a Monday night - so clearly didn't experience any crowds. Very attentive staff. Everyone loved their meal - I had the spinach and cheese empanada and Ceviche Mixto (really big, took home half of it). Friends had the parajuela (great spicy chowder) and escabeche de pollo. And a wonderful Pisco Sour to get the conversation going. Never been to the Linc before - but I will now return. Also perfect if you're going to Austin Playhouse across the street in ACC. read more

Excellent! Had two of the ceviches and the potatoes in yellow sauce, and it was all great. Pisco sours were also really good. We'll definitely be back. read more

As a Peruvian, I was really disappointed on this restaurant. I ordered Arroz con Mariscos, Ceviche and Jalea de Pescado. The Ceviche was OK( nobody's fault that good fish it not sold in Austin),but the Arroz con Mariscos had no taste: it was just wet rice covered in flavorless dressing( as if taken from a bowl of soup). The Jalea had a bitter taste and a nasty black color (burnt cooking oil), the fried cassava was really hard. Finally, we ordered Picarones which was of low quality: the dough tasted very old, was over fried and the syrup wasn't made with chancaca. read more

First time here. No one greeted us or indicated if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. There is s bar and cash register on the left, with a tv over it. Straight ahead there was an overhead projector tv showing a game. Half booth, half tables on the right, with tables in the center. The empanada appetizer had a great flavor & texture with the exception of the unmelted cheese. I ordered some chicken dish with rice that I couldn't pronounce. It was okay. It was interesting, might be back. read more

We're continuing an international food crawl and this was a terrific choice to experiment with the Peruvian menu. Yucca fries, adobo limeno, arroz con pollo, ceviche, and arroz chaufa were a few of the dishes we tried. The waitress was very helpful in describing the dishes. We will be back. read more

The food is very delicious even though sometimes they dont have certain things on the menu and run out quickly

Great food! We loved all our plates. Very good portions, cooked properly and at a reasonable price. The service was good and everybody ate everything in their plate. I've eaten at a few Peruvian restaurants before but this is definitely the best one! read more

Stopped by for some take out while in town for a conference. I'm always have mediocre expectations of Peruvian restaurants after living in Peru and enjoying the "real thing" for so long. But this was delicious! I had the papa a la huancaina and tallarines verdes. They were even nice enough to substitute the steak with fried eggs so I (a vegetarian) could still have my favorite dish. With all the great eating options in Austin, I would start my next trip at this restaurant again. read more

I was happy to stumble across this place at "the linc" (formerly Lincoln Village). Peruvian cuisine had its moment in NYC about 10 years ago when I lived up there. It has a homemade aesthetic coupled with a kitchen-sink ethic. There are Chinese (soy sauce) and African (boiled peanuts) influences. When I was there a few weeks ago, I would have bet that almost all of the other patrons were Peruvians (including the little boy who could not stop whistling for whatever reason), but now it looks like the gringos are catching on. Bring a group and pass plates! Very good ceviche. read more

If you're a ceviche fan, you're in the right place. The ceviche Lemon they have is one of the best I've ever had. It's a small place, more of a quick lunch kind of restaurant, staff are very friendly and service is quick. read more

This is my first visit to this restaurant. I based my visit on the delectable photos they post online depicting their dishes. The photos online and the actual food they serve are worlds apart. I ordered their pork dish carapulcra which looks like a pork stew. Coming from a predominantly tex-mex dining experience where you can pay $10 or less for a hearty and plentiful bowl of pork stew in simmering sauces of different types, the dish served at Lima Criolla was really disappointing. The entire dish consisted of a stew with plentiful potatoes and 1 piece of meat half the size of a filet mignon. a tiny serving of meat for $11. One of my biggest pet peeves is when I dine out and the restaurant does not provide what I paid for. I paid for a pork stew and got a potatoe stew instead. It was a total rip off in my book. The same happened to my husband's order. He ordered the lomo saltado and he got a plate with potatoes, onions, red peppers and a little bit of steak strips for $13. Another rip off. We will never go to this place again. Buyers beware you will get plenty potatoes or a half-a**ed attempt at satisfying their customers with stingy portions! My husband also got sick after eating there. He woke up today with a terrible diarreah. We ordered a third dish Arroz Chaufa Limeno for our child. Thankfully she did not eat it. My husband ate some of it and said the meat in the dish tasted like it was left over from the day before. The meat was dry and tough. Not only was the food a rip off it was also not sanitary. The Austin Health Inspectors need to stop by and make a surprise visit to take note of their kitchen practices. read more

Oh how I miss Pan con Chicharrón for breakfast just like we used to have in Peru; if you haven't tried, you must! And this restaurant definitely knows what it's doing besides opening in the morning, the ambiance is also nice, just like the Latin/American Miami feel. Amazing food, if your looking for a causal Peruvian restaurant this is the place. read more

My go to for authentic, Peruvian, comfort food. Nothing else in Austin comes close for food taste and quality, although some environments are prettier read more

I recommend the tamale. It goes very well with whatever coffee they serve (it's amazingly good). The huancaina sauce could use a little more ají in my opinion but it's good. Very authentic overall, including the South American pop hits from the '90s on the stereo. We'll definitely come back to try the ceviche. read more

Wow, this place is great! I literally just left and had to review immediately! I will admit that we were hesitant to go in since its pretty much the only open business in the area but am super glad we did. It's very casual with a full bar. I came for lunch so didn't have any drinks but the food.... my husband and I had chicken dishes, aji de gallena and and some sort of stewed chicken with potato and carrots. The chicken was melt in your mouth amazing. Will definitely be back. read more

I had to travel to Austin for work and decided to stop by here for lunch. Let me just say the food here is amazing!! I ordered a few appetizers as my meal and I would definitely recommend the "Papa a la Huancaina", the spinach Empanadas and you have to try the "Pisco Sour Tradicional"! Yum!! I am coming back here as soon as possible :) read more

Love this place! Hearty meal with wonderful home cooked flavors. Ripe platano to die for!

Was in town for conference held across the street; stumbled on this place and ate there as much as I could. Food is fantastic, fresh, bright flavor.
