I went for lunch today with a coworker and was pleasantly surprised! The lunch portions were perfect...not too big, not too small for the price. It's a family-owned and run feeling kind of place, and you can see into the kitchen which is cool. I thought the quality of the meat and fries in the lomo saltado was pretty good, and I liked the side sauce! My colleague had the ceviche mixto, and he enjoyed that a LOT. When I get the itch for Peruvian food, this will definitely be a go-to for me. It's in a weird location, and you're bound to spend a minute finding it, but once you do it's definitely worth it. read more

I've been wanting to come here for a couple of years. I decided to try the seafood soup. Not only was it the best seafood soup I've had, it was the best soup of any kind. It was completely filled with fish, shrimp, clams, squid, and octopus. A great broth! Aimee got the chicken with parmesan/pepper/pecan sauce and Barbara the noodles with pesto. The kicker was the super nice waitress. I needed comfort food and I got it! We will definitely be back. read more

Lima Criolla Peruvian Restaurant - Latin American Near Me - Austin, Texas

Outside it's flanked by two small horse statues and a large clock. Remnants of middlefiskvillle mall desert charm shouldn't scare you away from the best food you've had in a while. Tried the $7.99 lunch special today. Delicioso! Pick a soup plus a plate from the pollo or lamb section. In one trip, it's already my second favorite restaurant in Austin. . read more

OMG! This food is amazing. The ceviche is the best I have ever eaten. The Peruvian noodles with cilantro pesto has a flavor that is so inviting. You just want to keep eating even beyond full. The service was excellent and the price was right. I will be back. Yum! read more

Update: have been here another 20-30 times (hey it's close to home and our daughter loves the yucca fries) and not a single bad experience yet. Sometimes it gets busy but they keep up really well considering the space they are working with. Staff has always been friendly. Piscos always on point. Food has been super consistent. Consistently good. Still five stars for me. read more

I've tried a few more of Lima Criolla's dishes now and I am solidly pleased with their food. The papa rellena didn't wow me but it was certainly not bad. The mazamorra morada was yummy and unusual enough to my American palate to be interesting; at $5 I don't think I will get it again but I am glad I tried it. I'm really impressed by the noodle dishes, the portions are very generous and make for great leftovers. I am definitely a fan of this place. read more

Yum, everything I tasted was wonderful. I had the beef with rice and potato's. What a nice surprise. Our server was wonderful, she knew everything about every dish and made great suggestions. I will definitely be back. read more

Food was ok. Waited 2 HOURS!!! I have never waited 2 hours after ordering for my food to come out! RIDICULOUS! Terrible service, not even a "thank you for waiting" or "sorry for the wait" or heads up about it either. Was so excited to come here bc I love peruvian food and I hadn't found my place in Austin. WILL NEVER BE BACK!!! read more

Great food everytime we go or takeout! High quality food and drinks with very reasonable prices.

Yummy! Listen to the waitstaff recommendations, we did and enjoyed the Peruvian lunch. Can't pronounce the food but we ate a delicious popular spicy pork gravy stew and the house Special. We took yummy leftovers home thanks to large portions. We will plan to comeback next time we are in Austin. read more

Originally, the place was a good alternative for Peruvian food in Austin, TX. After coming here a couple of times the food has been getting progressively worse and service too. The ceviche was served in big chunks, semi un-cooked, and the Jalea was mainly 4 pieces of fish served on 6 yucas and some shrimp on top. (Not what you normally see). I've had Peruvian food in other places in the states and this is far from what you'd normally get for the price. Drinks were definitely good and I'd recommend to go here if you want a pisco drink. read more

We were very pleasantly surprised! We decided to be "brave" and try something different. We will definitely be back! It's not fancy, it's a bit loud...but the food was delicious, and the service was great! Yummmmmmmmmyyyyyyy read more

Superb food and great and very friendly service. Amazingly affordable prices. Love the fact that they have a full bar.

This restaurant uses the lowest quality chicken that can possibly be found in Austin. It tasted terrible, had hardly any meat on it and seemed re-heated from days before. Their ceviche is made from Tilapia....another low-quality restaurant fish. I was very excited to find another Peruvian restaurant in Austin as it's cuisine becomes more popular worldwide but unfortunately this place does not showcase how Peruvian food can be. Keeping food costs so low in Austin, in this incredibly competitive market and with a community who cares about quality ingredients, I cannot imagine how this restaurant is sustainable. read more

The food was delicious just as I remembered from there highland location. Highly recommend the food here.

The food is delicious authentic and consistent quality. The music is great. The place has a nice relaxing atmosphere and there even big screens if you want to watch the soccer game. read more

First time here. I got the Tiradito ceviche. Very good. The plating isn't the best, but don't let the looks fool you. This ceviche is packed with flavor. The texture of the choclo is great. The have authentic Peruvian pisco as well. Definitely need to try this place. read more

Lima Criolla Peruvian Restaurant - Peruvian ceviche. Very good. Quite different from the Mexican ceviches that I'm used to. Very rich flavor. A must try. - Latin American Near Me - Austin, Texas

This is a really cute Peruvian restaurant with great food and fantastic Pisco Sours. You can get a lot of food for a decent price and it's very authentic. Highly recommend! read more

Oh my! We stopped in Lima Criolla after catching a movie at the AFS. Walked in to see a family-run restaurant that had clearly just been slammed with customers and hadn't had a minute to catch up. (It was World Cup Sunday and this place has two big screens.) I was concerned that we might have picked a bad time to visit. WRONG! The service was excellent. The ladies had a table cleared for us in two minutes. We had our drinks in hand - lovely Pisco Sours - five minutes later. And the food, you ask? Delicious doesn't do it justice. I had a chicken stew with carrots and potatoes and who knows what mix of spices, that is likely one of the best things I've ever eaten. My husband had a pork dish that he loved. We shared an appetizer, a mashed potato cake with ground beef, that came with pickled red onions and a slightly peppery sauce on the side. Although we're in South Austin, we'll be heading up to the Linc again soon to try a few other dishes on the extensive menu. read more

I had a pisco (very reasonably priced) and the chicken with parmesan sauce (Aji de Gallina Limeno), which was not exactly what I was expecting and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, pretty generous portions but not overkill, and good prices for Austin. The service was a bit slow, but it wasn't a big deal. No idea what it would be like if it was busy. I will be going back to try more dishes! read more

What a delightful find...authentic, homemade flavors. First to have Peruvian food and was pleased with the experience. The waitress was proud to share her favorite offerings fron their menu. Descriptions are very general and simple, so it was helpful to have a person navigate me through their offerings. The food tasted as if the dishes were prepared with lots of care with the flavors are wonderfully layered. You must try this place! read more

The best Peruvian restaurant in Austin. I come here when I miss home. Crema volteada is delicious!

I'm a big fan of this place. The lomo saltado is delightful, as is one of the appetizers that is basically a pork steak on bread. I've had Peruvian a couple of other places and this was the first place I really loved it read more

The food was good, not great. The service was TERRIBLE. All it really takes to keep me happy is keeping my water glass from being empty. The waiter was unable to manage that. He was a teenager probably working a summer job, but he kept disappearing completely. He didn't check on us. My companion was able to get another waitress to refill his empty iced tea when she walked by with a pitcher for one of her tables, but I couldn't get water. When I asked the waiter for water, he disappeared and didn't refill it. When he finally came with the check, I asked him to refill it again and finally got some water. The restaurant was not that busy, so there was absolutely no excuse for this kind of service. I appreciate that the menu has gluten free items marked clearly. When I asked the waiter about dairy, he didn't really know. If waitstaff aren't familiar with the ingredients, they should go get a manger or kitchen staff member to talk to the person rather than guessing. read more

You must have the tamales! So moist and flavorful and the fresh onions on the side are perfect. We also has the spinach and the beef empanadas and they were also super delicious. As well as the potatoes with cheese/yellow pepper sauce. I honestly ordered 5 tamales to go to share with my friends back home. Yum! read more

Best pisco sours and plates were absolutely amazing! I cant stop raving about how authentic this place is

The service and food was outstanding. The menu has a broad selection of Peruvian standards and everything is made fresh and to order. The plantains were perfect. The steak dish my husband had was seasoned wonderfully. I loved my "fried rice." Our waiter was charming and was great at keeping our drinks full, making sure everyone was happy and full of great menu recommendations when asked. read more

The ceviche was good very good !!! and the arroz chaufa con mariscos was awesome but pleas DONT get the parihuela it was so disappointing it ruin my whole experience it was so watery nearly any seafood they had a fried fish inside of a soup it was insulting to the culture . Otherwise it was fast service hopefully the rest of the menu is better the staff was friendly read more

Coming from a family of Peruvian in laws I can tell you that this place puts out delicious and authentic dishes. The anticuchos were as good as I've ever had. I appreciate that the beef heart was sliced extremely thin and well marinated and grilled. The empanada were good however we couldn't figure out why they were dusted with powdered sugar. That was weird. The chaufa limeño was fantastic! That was my plate and I couldn't keep everyone from asking for bites. The ceviche was perfect, lomo saltado and ahi de gallina as good as my sisters-in-law make! We finished with some alfahores and they were even better than any I've ever eaten. We will be back for sure. Service was a tad slow but overlooked as the food was so good. read more

Just moved to Austin and this little gem was such a great find! Friendly staff, location is perfect, plenty of parking and big restaurant. Now let's get to the important stuff the FOOD was fantastic. I had a lomo saltado, pisco sour, and to top it off some alfajores! Everything was tasty and the price was good too. Will be coming again and inviting more friends and family. read more

This is a very good Peruvian restaurant. I order the parihuela (seafood soup) and my friend (AW) ordered a chicken and shrimp dish. My friend said she liked her food I also liked my food very much. However, both courses were to large for a lunch course. The calimari in my soup was overcooked to impossible to chew. All the other seafood was cooked perfectly. read more

Super tasty food and really nice workers! Everything came out timely and the flavors were amazing! Definitely recommend!!!

The best ceviche ive ever had. Little bits of crunchy corns w so many layered flavors. The beef hearts were charred and melt in mouth

Best Peruvian place to eat in Town! Their roast beef and pork stews are so delicious. The fries in the Lomo Saltado would be much better if they were soaked in the sauce but that is just my preference. All around having a Pisco Sour with some good food while watching a soccer game is not a bad way to end the day. read more

Everything delicious so far, prices are very affordable, lunch menu specials are very economical, highly recommended. read more

Really just delicious fare. It's not too loud and not too quiet. Pisco Sours are the bomb.

Got here and had one of the waiters hand us our menus and just walked away we waited for about 10 minutes to order and nobody came we went towards our waiter and he said he said he didnt help us it was someone else me and the other people we came with agreed that it was him that helped us, good food but really need to train their waiters better. read more

Came here for lunch a month or so ago, and kept thinking "We really liked this place and should write a good review!" So here I am. The Cebiche Mixto was perfect, laid back and welcoming ambiance, and server was kind and attentive. It's hard to find authentic Peruvian food in Austin, and this is definitely it. We will be back! read more
