I had been on vacation and away from home (and, thus, my regular nail salon) for about 2 and 1/2 weeks by the time I was hanging in St. Augustine. And my nails were RAG-ged! Lily's is my mom's local, so when I said I need to have my set of gels refilled, she immediately made me an appt. here. The salon is spacious, clean, bright and blissfully comfortable (I find many FL establishments have their AC cranked waaay too high for me). The staff is professional, just the right amount to chattiness (without the faux-interest). I had a "spa pedicure", as well, which was great. Dare I say, they did a better job than my place at home?! Gasp! It's true: well-shaped, nice and thin, with a beautiful paint job. And quick. The pedi and gel fill in about an hour, 15 minutes. That's in-the-door to done-drying. Superb! So the reason I feel bad giving this place one star because the rest of the staff did a good job with my nails but the owner is sooo horrible. She is mean to her staff and to the people who walk in. I have been here twice. They were able to fit me in right before Thanksgiving. I came in to get a fill with gel and reshape my nails to almond. My sister and her friend went in to get gel and pedicures. The fill was pretty good and the shape of the nails was good. It was performed by the daughter's fiance or husband. I do not recollect his name. Issues: (1) He made the nails too thin (five of them broke within a week with the tips cracking off because they were too thin). (2) The gel was not done properly. His cohort recommended that he do one nail at a time because the color I choose clops into the sides or is distributed unevenly on the nails if not dried immediately. He decided not to do this. One of the nails chipped within two days. I went back to get it fixed a few days later. Instead of removing the paint from the whole nail, they just filed it down and painted over it. Needless to say, this was insufficient and it chipped the next day. They did not charge me for the first repair. I did not go back after it chipped again. Pedicures My sister and her friend got pedicures at the same time and they were wonderful. They said they were the best massages ever. The pedicures were performed my the owner's husband and another young man. When I went back to get my nail fixed, I got a pedicure as well. It was performed by the daughter who looked like she might be a teenager. It was really bad. She didn't perform all of the things very well. Although, the finished paint job did look nice. The other aspects of the pedicure were not good. read more

It was a nice environment with nice techs working. No selection when it comes to which pedi. It was the most basic pedi I have ever had. It was hard to schedule a time too. Hubby and I were trying to have a relaxing time together and after picking the scrub, I wasn't prepared to have the leg massage with it. A bit rough. Please read all of the negative reviews about the OWNER. It's unfortunate that I have to stop going to a pretty decent place with good prices. The past 2 visits have been rushed, performed in silence practically and today completely ignored. I was told twice by the owner to "just wait" while waiting 15 minutes over for my appointment? Afterwards she didn't even acknowledge or say thank you for waiting. It was so awkward my nail tech didn't even speak to me, ring me up and charged way more than my regular price? It's unfortunate they treat regular customers this way, as we all go to get our nails done for a relaxing, positive experience. Also, the children/grandchildren. of the owner should not be left to run around the salon. I understand they are just kids, but a screaming 2 year old playing his iPad right next to me is not what I go to the nail salon to deal with. Found this place on Yelp. Run by a guy from northern Vietnam ("Tim") who came to St. Augustine Beach from Atlanta for a "more laid back" lifestyle. Just got a polish change on my feet. Tim was very meticulous, spent more than half an hour, and used OPI products. My toes look fine, although frankly I don't know how one could screw up a polish change. Was charged all of $8 which made me about fall off my chair. Would be double that in the DC area, at least. Haven't had such an inexpensive nail job since Mexico. Don't know how Tim can stay in business. Rents must be really low in St. Augustine. read more

Moved to the area a little over a year ago and tried several places that were lovely inside but the workmanship was poor. Finally found Lily's and have been coming here for almost a year now. I have gel nails and was tired of nail techs who put on a ton of gel and then drill it off for so long that it hurts. Lily's is no frills. The inside could use a makeover, and most of the staff is a little standoffish. But they use quality products and in my experience do really excellent work. I can usually go three weeks before I need to have my nails redone--and I'm not very gently on my nails at all. Lily is the person I usually go to, but have also had her daughter Joanne and she does an equally good job. read more

Absolutely wonderful nail salon!!! While on vacation I was suffering terribly from a horribly ingrown toenail that would've ruined all of my fun. I called on a Friday morning and they were able to fit me in right away!!! Anthony did a really wonderful job, fixed me right up and the sugar scrub add on for $5 was well worth it!!! Joanne is talented,swift and clean shop. a I get a new process/technology called ANC. My nails last and shine. Best is that it is NOT acrylic or gel. The first damages the nail and the latter degrades after 10 days. ANC is the best I've ever had. Wow!! No harsh chemicals, no rough filing, no UV light (yippee), no drying time (super big yippee), no damage to the nail bed (health and safety - get's biggest yip). This is the latest product AND IT IS GREEN!! Gotta love that, too. I have a hard, shiny and longer lasting nail color. To me that is a lot better value for my $$. my family (3 of us) just had manicures & pedicures here today & everyone's price was different. During the pedicure, we were asked to choose between a sugar or mint scrub; but, not informed that it would cost $7. Apparently, they imposed a $2 scraping fee as well. My mother had gel polish removed - and had had them done there 2 weeks prior. Anyway, they charged a $10 soaking fee. None of the prices were disclosed before the service was rendered and the price board is confusing to interpret. We are from NJ and NYC and rather used to higher prices but never would've agreed to these prices at an average salon. People friendly certainly but very poor business skills, u fortunately. While vacationing, called and made an appointment for a full set. I usually get acrylic, which have made my nail beds very thin and in bad shape. Tim told me about ANC, which is different from all the others and is less stress and filing on your nail beds. It cost a little more but was well worth it. I am so pleased with my nails and it was so pleasant chatting with Tim while he did them. Very personable group of people working there. Absolutely horrible! I had my nails done here today and the first thing that I encounter is absolute rudeness. I come in and get screamed at, that I apparently had my nails done at a "crappy" place and that I was stupid for going there. As time progresses, she continues doing my nails whilst she digs into my natural nail with a file until it is bleeding. At the end, my nails looked horrible and half of them were crooked. Approximately two hours after I had my nails done, my ring finger nail of a sudden breaks in half and tears my natural nail. I look underneath my nail bead and it is full of blood. Now I am left with 9 crooked nail and 1 which is half off and bleeding. Cheers! - Do not go here unless you would like to waste $40 on crooked nails which will eventually lead you to a nail bed infection. read more

I have been getting my nails manicured professionally for 3 years. I have been to salons in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh and here in Florida. I asked for a gel manicure and pedicure. The young man who waited on me was not happy. He informed me they couldn't do designs on gel polish, which I have always had done. . He was not friendly. No smiles. No how are you? No presentation of a menu for deluxe selections. Then hes like do you want me to cut ypur cuticles? Im sorry i thought i was getting a manicure? I obviously have a complex manicure already why assume I want the least amount of work possible? After speaking with this young man I had no desire to have him put his hands on me.
