I needed a dip and the salon was in walking distance, so I decided to try it. The salon was clean and organized . The gentleman that did my nails was very nice. I am very disappointed in the outcome of my nails. Back home where I go all the time, my dip last almost a month. After a week visiting this salon, my nails are breaking and the dip chipping. The gentleman who did my nails did a terrible job. They were thick and wavy and the color didn't go down to my cuticle. He redid 4 of my nails but they still looked very wavy and thick. My toes weren't any better done by the lady. My heels are cracked and the pedicure was mediocre overall. I communicated my dissatisfaction, paid and left. Do not recommend. read more

I am here for the winter and after checking Yelp I decided to have a manicure at this shop. The place is very very clean everyone was friendly and a gentleman who did my nails named Tony did a perfect job for me I could not have been more pleased. Update! I've been here a bunch since my initial review! Not only do I still love it, but they have since limited the use of latex! I've been able to get pedicures without breaking out like crazy. Which also says a lot with how clean it is. This is definitely my favorite nail salon! Clean and friendly! I recently have made the switch from acrylic to gel manicures. I'm a hairstylist, so my cuticles get pretty dry. Kim does a great job taking care of my nails and I'm sure with her help, the will start to grow and not break. I can only say one thing that I wish would change, and that's the latex gloves used for a pedicure. I want to get a pedicure here, but I am allergic to latex. I just scheduled my monthly pedicure and manicure at Nails by Kim. As my phone deleted their contact info I had to google them for the number. I was amazed at the negative reviews as they did not seem like the same place I've been going to for a year. Although they do speak to each other in their native language I don't think we go for a pedicure for conversation. I have always had a very positive experience with the work they do at a very reasonable price. They are far better than many other salons I have been to. read more

I was traveling and visited friends in St Augustine . I needed a 'dip ' nail procedure ... the place seemed clean but the owner did a bad job . My nails bubbled up after I drove away . I called to get my money back but the answer was 'No , but come in , we will fix it ' I didn't have time to go back as we were headed south. Had to get the whole job redone in Key West , wasted $55 dollars. Can't recommend this place if you want to get a dip nail procedure. read more

I have been going to Kim and Jaboe, her husband, for 15 years. If I have a problem (which I haven't) I would simply tell Kim, and am sure she would accommodate you. Especially since you're allergic latex. For those who know me, I do not suffer fools. They are friendly, clean, accommodating, and easy to get an appointment. They have a decent selection of Shellac colors. They do acrylic nails well and for a reasonable price. Excellent, friendly, professional. I was lucky enough to find this place after having a terrible experience at another local salon. I did a Yelp search and, voila: Nails by Kim! A gentleman did my nails. I did not get his name but he was extremely professional and knowledgeable. The salon was bright and clean. Another technician was waiting on a customer. Place is very clean. Very nice staff and quick to help,lots of color options as well. I was able to change my appointment more than once in the same day with no issues what so ever and no attitude from the staff. Their prices are lower than what I expected for a location so close to the beach! 2 or 3 tvs to watch, and the pedicure chairs are extremely well kept , I however only got a manicure so I didn't get to test them out. I got my nails done by Kim and got shellac . Service was very quick - however the polish did get on my cuticles which caused it to lift sooner than it normally does. For a polish change on my toes- top coat was not applied evenly but I didn't notice until I got home so I was not able to have it fixed. But considering their prices are so good and the customer service was on point- I'll return for my next nail services and just be sure to point out any issues I may have with the appearance . I dropped in for a manicure/pedicure and eyebrow wax while on a short vacation in Saint Augustine. It was a clean, friendly, new/updated, professional and attentive atmosphere. It's in a convenient location right on A1A. I went with my sister and we were extremely satisfied with the service and the quality of our manis and pedis (and we've gotten our nails done just about everywhere in the U.S.!) Not a great experience at Kim's Nails. Visiting St. Augustine on family vacation, and went to get a mani-pedi with my mom. Called for an appointment and still waited 45 minutes to be taken care of. They put both me and my mom in the pedicure chairs, but only did my pedicure and she sat and soaked for my entire pedicure. The women at Kim's were excellent, but the man who did my nails rushed through everything, and gave me nails that looked sloppy. My mom had great looking nails, but I did not. The was 6pm so I decided to call to verify & was told they were already closed. So I ask why does website state you 7:30 and the man answered simply hung up. Overall crappy experience! I will not be going back. Man was attending me and three others at the same time. I was looking for a relaxing experience and left tense and angry. Place was empty when I arrived three others walked in after he had started with me... kept getting up to help them in the middle of my pedi. Painted only in the center of my toe nails, when I asked him to correct it he seemed very annoyed, like I was holding him up because other customers were there... and since my services weren't free ... I'm going to assume I too was a customer. Lastly, when I was paying I handed them my discover, she asked for another card, so i inquired about them not accepting discover... before I could get my visa back she swipes it and says yes we take discover but they just charge us more.
