And as a result, instead of an hour, the whole procedure lasted only 40 minutes instead of an hour, and when I tried to go back and realized that so little time had passed, they didn't even open the door, despite the fact that they work 24/7. I don't recommend it to anyone at all

The person who did my massage wasn't even a masseuse and didn't disclose that until after the end of an awful saga there. I never post bad reviews but this simply must be shared. The full experience: I booked a 90 min massage with a groupon, as I have done before without issue. I made my appointment weeks ago and they called to reconfirm about two days before the appointment. When I arrived, the woman who was working the front desk was immediately cringy-including her running her hands through my hair in a racialized way without permission. She took me into the massage room to undress and, instead of a different masseuse coming in, she came in to start my massage and it was immediately clear that she didn't know what she was doing. **She left my entire back body exposed nearly entire time even when she wasn't working on certain spots, she left the room numerous times, she quite literally BURNED ME with the hot stones, and after me asking numerous times for more pressure, she simply couldn't do it.** When she said we were done, I asked if that was a full 90 minutes and she said yes. I checked my clock and it wasn't. It was about 40 minutes total. When I went back to her at the desk to ask for a partial refund for the unused time since I didn't get what I paid for, she tried to argue with me (mind you this was all happening via google translate). She then said that I booked with a masseuse but she was only the receptionist so it's not her faulytthat she had to answer phones. 1) why was my appointment confirmed if no one would be there to actually provide the service?? and 2) WHY DID SHE NOT DISCLOSE THAT SHE WAS NOT A MASSEUSE BEFORE GIVING ME A MASSAGE? This felt incredibly violating. She then told me that a masseuse had just arrived and they could give me the proper 90 minute massage start to finish at no additional cost right now. So she takes me back into a new room, I undress, wait on the table, and then she comes back in and tells me that there is no one available to do the massage and that I'd be charged $30 for a cleaning fee. When I get dressed (again) and go ask for a refund (again) since I was not provided the service I paid for, she was incredibly rude and then told me to go vent to someone else. So no-I absolutely 100% do not recommend this place to anyone. Spare yourself.

I recently moved to the area, and I'm so grateful that I discovered her practice! Dr. Holder recommended Fraxel to treat some of the issues I had been experiencing. I have a fairly low pain tolerance, and she ensured I would be comfortable during the procedure (I've already been back for the second of three treatments...so she kept her promise!) I'm not only thrilled with the results of my treatments but also thrilled to be a part of her practice. Her energy and enthusiasm for her work, deep knowledge, and commitment to her patients are all remarkable. She also spent an incredible amount of time getting to know me before she said a word about my skin concerns. And when I sent one of my family members to her practice, they came away loving her just as much as I do. I wasn't surprised. :) I love that Holder was raised right here in Park Slope. It was clear from the first few minutes of our initial conversation that she cares deeply about this community and her patients. Dr. Holder is a gem--and she is right here in Park Slope. I'll never go anywhere else. :)

Here's what I've experienced at this practice and why I recommend it so wholeheartedly: - I first came to Dr. Holder's practice in 2023, wanting to try botox for the first time. It was a new experience, and Dr. Holder listened carefully to understand my expectations and then patiently talked me through everything that I should expect. The way she directs her team before, during, and after procedures instills so much confidence, especially for first time patients. - At the beginning of this year, hormones were wreaking havoc on my skin and giving me with terrible acne and rosacea. Fed up, I sent Dr. Holder's office an email, and they agreed to see me right away. They were so responsive and reassuring. Also, I really appreciate that Dr. Holder doesn't try to sell a custom line of products -- she just thoughtfully directs you to a routine using good old fashioned French pharmacy products and prescriptions when needed. - I've seen Dr. Holder for peels and laser treatments, and I'm just so grateful for how thorough and detail-oriented she is in each of these procedures. She takes prep and after care very seriously. She looks closely at the treatment areas, takes her time, and talks through the treatment so that there are no surprises or unexpected discomfort. Truly amazing bedside manner that instills so much confidence. - Dr. Holder's team is just as amazing as she is. All of the staff are communicative, warm, and hospitable. They're also incredibly smart, detail-oriented, and thoughtful during procedures -- hardly a surprise, but such a rare experience in this city. Since I started seeing Dr. Holder, my skin is noticeably brighter, my complexion is more even, and for the first time in my life, I feel like I have some control over my skin sensitivities. I'm so glad I found this practice, and I hope Dr. Holder never retires!
