Then I received a text from Lily after submitting for a quote. I responded explaining the situation, and she immediately said, "no problem, we will price match." At first I honestly thought I might be texting with a bot, but it turned out to be Lily herself, the daughter of the owners. In a bit of a panic about missing the other sale and not having anything locked in, I called and spoke with her brother. He stayed on the phone with me for over 30 minutes, walking through my entire order and making sure I had everything I needed. I was blown away by the level of service. Maybe I'm a bit jaded living in LA, but this felt truly above and beyond. It's rare to find a company that is this responsive, personal, and genuinely cares. I also love that this is a family-run business. It makes such a difference, and I much prefer supporting companies like this over big corporations that often lack customer service. It really shows in how they treat their customers. We are so excited for our cabinets to arrive and already look forward to placing more orders as we continue fixing up our new home. Buyer Beware! We chose to go with HCW for a kitchen and basement remodel after several meetings…read morewith them, they seemed very knowledgeable and they were a veteran owned company which was important to us. We were quickly concerned about our choice after we gave them 2/3 of the estimate up front, they came and did part of the demo the first day then did not come back again for 3 days, and that type of schedule continued. They had a section in their contract stating they could not be required to be at a job everyday, we questioned that they said it was just to avoid people requiring they work nights and weekends, they promised us they would focus on our job and not sandwich us between jobs, but the reality is they never showed up more than 2 days a week. They also did structural work in our kitchen and did not pull a permit, yet they charged us for the permit. They told us our entire sub floor had to be rebuilt and they charged us almost $7k for that, however, the building inspector said the work was not required the floor was fine the way it was. The small amount of work they did was subpar, even as bad as building an island and all of the nails on the bottom of the island did not actually go into a piece of wood. They had weekly excuses about why they could not show up, down to the last one that put us over the edge..."it is Indigenous Peoples Day so we won't be working...". This company is the stereotypical nightmare contractor, they got away with over $15,000 of our money that they did not work for, that is painful, but I believe we would be in worst shape if we would have continued through the end of the project with them. No sign of the honor or integrity you would expect from a Veteran owned company.
