From a work stand-point, Lili's meets all my needs. I don't get a lot of tailoring done and it is mostly jeans for my wife and I, but the fact that Lili's can put the original hemmed bottom back on and make it look so great has been a lifesaver for us. her prices are responsible for the work, though her time-table isn't always of the utmost concern. From experience to setup realistic expectations, here is what I would say: If you need the item by a specific date, request 1 week prior if its a month or more out. Call 4 or 5 days before the due date and inquire if it will be ready on time. It's likely it hasn't been started yet so its a good reminder for Lili and will get you your garment on time. Should you have to go through that trouble, not likely, but you are dealing with one person who's work is pretty darn good, so you decide if you are willing to deal with the extra hassle. After one drive from Oxnard to Camarillo to pick something up and hearing it wasn't ready on the date, I employed the above method and have not had a problem since. Should I have to do that, of course not, but everything meets my expectations if I do, so I will continue to do so to get that great work that Lili does. So I was recommended by a friend about this place and I went in her store asking if she could expand my Pendleton's Board Shirt.Meaning making it from a Xl. to a 2X..You might be thinking is that possible??Yes it is!!Greenspan's in South Gate does it all day long.Well Lilly was like NO IT CANT BE DONE!!she said "Take it to L.A." Lili is the best!! She truly saved my wedding dress and did such a great job! I was recommended to use a seamstress in Glendale who didn't do great work on my dress... my straps on my weddding dress broke twice and i had gone back to my original seamstress several times to fix my dress. I thought it was finally fixed but the day before my wedding it broke again and I refused to go back to the original semstress and have it break again in my weddIng day or have the straps snap when walking down the aisle. My husband called Lili and she said she would help me. She fixed the straps, did a better job than my original seamstress and mentioned a few other things she would have fixed. I picked my dress up at 10:30pm the night before my wedding and cried tears of joy. I am so thankful for Lili and her dedication for perfection. The lady doing the alterations is very sweet and good at what she does...I found out I was pregnant a week after I ordered my bridesmaid dress for my friends wedding. I called the store I had ordered the dress from to see if I could change the size since I would be 7 months pregnant for the wedding and the dress would not fit. Unfortunately they said they could not change the dress size or do a refund because the fabric had already been cut. I was devastated. I went to a few alteration shops asking if they could maybe remove the zipper and add a corset in the back but no one was able to help me. I was about to give up until a friend recommended I come here. Lili was able to do the corset and give me a great fit on the dress. She did a really nice job and was reasonably priced. read more

Lili is great! My now-husband's wedding suit needed some taking in, especially the pants, and she got it all done in a reasonable time period and at a very reasonable cost. We found Lili's after trying Flavio's. They really botched a simple hemming of my wife's suit (legs dramatically different lengths). While attempting to correct their error, they treated us poorly. After asking around the nearby Camarillo Outlet and getting a dozen or so positive recommendations for Lili's, we took those pants to lili, and never looked back. Over the subsequent years, Lili has always provided excellent service for my wife and me. We are both designers with critical eyes, and she almost always has met our VERY high expectations. Out of the score of times we have used her, there have only been a couple of times she has flubbed the job. Those few times she missed the mark, she corrected the small errors with due expedience and precision. Lili has always conducted herself with professional aplomb and quiet charm. Pragmatically, her prices are fair and she works quickly enough, if you have reasonable expectations for excellent work. I took my bridesmaids dress in as it needed a hem and to be taken in at the waist and bust. I had concerns because it has a lot of intricate beading on it. She was polite and was thorough with her measurements and told me the beading was no issue. We made a pick up date of the 6th. I called the morning of the day I was expecting to pick it up and she let me know it would be done that afternoon and that she would call. She called a little after 530pm that evening and said she was staying late and that I could come by and pick it up. I came in and she was all ready expecting me, had me try it on, and it was perfect. Earlier this year, I found a dress online that I absolutely loved but that was too darn long. I bought it anyways and started looking for a good tailor in the area. I ultimately went with Lili's Alterations because she had good reviews and was in a convenient location. I have now taken many dresses and some other random items to Lili, and am very pleased with her work. She does good, clean alterations and is very nice. When working with Lili (or any tailor) make sure you are clear about what you want and ask questions if you're not sure that your instructions are being understood. A little note: Lili gets very busy, especially in the spring and summer. I have never been in a rush to get my clothes back so I haven't minded waiting 2-3 weeks, but it's good to keep this in mind if you're in a rush. I know she will do a faster turnaround for an extra fee if you're really in a pinch. I am so happy to have found Lili and 100% recommend her! read more

As a customer I have never in my life been treated as terribly as I was at this establishment. My wife and I took her wedding dress to be altered and dropped it off on June 15th. We were told it would be ready on the 17th of July. When we returned from vacation we went to the shop on the 18th of July and was told to come back on Saturday because she still had a couple of more things to do on the dress. Out of concern since our wedding was in one week I asked what else had to be done and maybe if we could pick it up later that night. She explained that she had not even started the dress. I was upset because we had put down a deposit with her for her to not even have started the work by the date which we were supposed to pick it up. She then proceeded to explain that this was normal and just how she operates and that we were being stubborn and only out for the money. I would have been glad to pay her if she was even competent enough to do the job she guarantees. For a business woman I found it very unprofessional. I would rather pay 500 dollars for a real professional than ever to put another dime into a lazy, obnoxious establishment such as lily's alterations. I would never recommend this place even to someone I didn't like. I would rather pay more money any day for good customer service, especially in today's day and age where the only social skills are learned online. Lily's alteration is a poor establishment and I truly believe your money would be better spent elsewhere. read more

The "service" I received from Lili's Alterations was not great. She promised the dress would be completed on a certain date and at a certain time. However, when I showed up at the appointed date and time, the dress was not completed and she claimed to have no knowledge of having given me a completion date. It was extremely unprofessional! Further, when she was finally finished, the dress did not fit properly and it was dirty. Also, even though I had specifically requested that the dress be hemmed so that the front of the dress did not hang longer than the back, apparently she was unable to do that because the front does indeed hang longer than the back. In fact, the hem is uneven on the top layer of the dress. The inner two layers of the dress look like she just chopped them off with no regard for trying to get them even. All in all it was a very unprofessional and unsatisfactory experience and I feel that I got ripped off. I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more
