We absolutely loved their pocket pita, garlic fries and their kids Kit with chicken. My daughters said the pita was the best they'd ever had. We'll definitely be back.

Placed an online order to go: Greek fries and a side of gyro meat to throw on top, since sandwiches and bowls are $13-$16! Insane. I saw the bowls, they're not large. Not a great deal by any stretch, but that's lunch hour in Seattle I guess. The fries were soggy, barely any feta on top, and the "gyro" meat is just freakin' weird. It tastes like lamb meatballs. Not at all what I expected. On top of this, my order was not ready and I ended up waiting 15 minutes. Three people in line in front of me and three behind, but just one guy behind the counter taking and prepping orders, tickets popping out of the machine left and right until he cried uncle for some help. "Wow it got busy fast, went from no orders to backed up!" Yeah dude, it's 12:15. People get off at 12, call it in, take a piss and start walking to the restaurant, just like every lunch rush every day in a busy commercial core. I also dislike having to wait in line for a pickup order. I'm in a hurry. If you can't accommodate, I can go somewhere else. Just leave my order out! I did grab a jar of grilled preserved lemons to take home. Not sure what to use them for but they look delicious. All in all, not great, again.

Wasn't sure what I wanted to eat and the person working there was kind enough to make a recommendation which ended up being just perfect. Along with the recommended beef shawarma, I got an extra side of hummus and I am so glad that I did because it was delicious. I really appreciate that this place is not only open late, but their hours are consistent throughout the week. The service was really outstanding, considering it was late at night and I'm sure that they also had a long day as well. This might be my go to spot when I am doing work in the area. I highly recommend this place.

The kefta was noticeably undercooked, and the chicken was burnt and dry. Unfortunately, one of us became sick and ended up throwing up after the meal, which was very concerning. The staff were welcoming and polite, but they didn't seem genuinely happy. While they were professional, the overall energy felt a bit flat. Great food often reflects the passion and enthusiasm of the people preparing and serving it, and I hope the team can rediscover that spirit because it really makes a difference in the dining experience. I hope this was just an isolated incident because I've had many good experiences here in the past. I'm sharing this feedback in the hope that the restaurant pays closer attention to food preparation and quality control so other customers don't have a similar experience.

Which was part of the reason I visited a few weeks ago. I actually have been wanting to try Yalla for awhile, and just recently figured where it was located. A bit out of my way from work and home, but the day I decided to go was perfect. I was meeting friends at Sake Nomi which doesn't serve food so you're allowed to bring some in. I had two hours to waste so it gave me plenty of time to get up to Capitol Hill and back to Pioneer Square. Yalla is a walk up window with a bench outside to sit but I imagine most people take the food to go. I was sharing the food with five other people so the three mezze dips was the perfect option, I also added the special dip of the day that had 100% proceeds going to help those in Nepal. I also added one of the pressed Saj, the grilled Kefta a lot easier to share. One of my friends wanted the Lamb wrap so that was included in the order as well. Love how fresh the ingredients were. Each dip had distinctively different flavors and textures. Saj was included two different ways to enjoy with the mezze in its soft flatbread form and as a cracker perfect for dipping. My favorites were the Muhummara and the Nuraniye (Zuchinni Dip). I liked the tanginess of the Muhummara and the fresh lemon forward of the Nuraniye. The Kefta was delicious, I need to carry a knife for situations like this when sharing food we ended up ripping off pieces this came with Labneh. I definitely want to try a wrap next time and well their toum sauce. Service was friendly and helpful when I was explaining there was a group of us sharing the items.

The signature saj bread is cooked fresh on a hot stone and is almost like a Middle Eastern flour tortilla with the way it's super thin and satisfyingly chewy bite. The only seating options are a few large benches on the sidewalk, but there's a poster saying you're welcome to sit at the neighboring bar which opens in the late afternoon provided you purchase a drink as well. Ended up sampling 3 of their wrap options and the Zaatar Wrap was deliciously nutty and fragrant, but texturally there was so many herbs that the center ate a little dry. The Lahme Khuruf (Lamb) was my favorite by far with super juicy ground meat with some tang from the labneh, sweetness, freshness from the tomato, and texture from the pine nuts. Absolute home run on this one! The Awarma and Cheese was a close second, but personally, the flavor profile was just a little less interesting than the lamb. Tip: grab some extra napkins as the wraps can fall apart a bit at the end!

They could use a fan or AC on such a hot day working at the grill and fryer. I opted for a lamb & beef gyro...wow was this generously prepared with tasty meat, fresh vegies, sauce, spices, encased in pita bread. The Homie had a huge order of gyros fries. So huge that he was not able to finish it. There's onsite seating, but decided to eat al fresco under an umbrella, which was pleasant. Thanks to Peter for putting this on my Yelp radar screen.

After visiting…read moreShawarma King and Shawarma Man during the past month, we now have Shawarma Prince (I'm sensing a theme in the names). Price wise, the Prince is a little higher but it's definitely worth a stop. You actually can choose between a shawarma sandwich in a pita or saj (thin, unleavened wrap) and definitely spend a couple of bucks more for the saj. Compared to other places, I would say the chicken shawarma has less veggies, including the pickled ones, so for those who do not like pickled stuff, this would be a good version to try. The sandwich is served with a copious amount of the garlic sauce, which was nice but probably a calorie bomb:). Nice, friendly service with limited seating (3.5 tables indoors with a couple outdoors) and a small parking lot.
