Wood Vitalize - Commercial Retail - After Dustless Hardwood Floor Refinishing

The first company told us that the floors were too old & worn and that the only way we could refresh them was to rip out the original floors and replace them with modern panels. We mentioned how sad we were to lose our original floorboards to a friend and they suggested we reach out to Adam at Wood Vitalize. I'm glad we did! Adam came to the house and, immediately after saying hello, got down on his hands and knees to give them a close look. He helped us to pick an option that would protect the floors and give them some new life, without sanding off the character they'd gotten over the last 90 years. He also helped ensure the rose inlay in the original floors wouldn't get destroyed with his process (other flooring companies had told it was unsaveable). Wood Vitalize's quote for the work was reasonable and they even replaced a few floorboards that had gone rotten underneath the radiator without charge (thanks again!). They were able to do all the floors in our 3/2 townhouse in one day (arrived on time, stayed late until it was done). I'm very pleased with their work and owe our friend who referred them a big thank you! So I'm passing it forward. If you've got floors with history and you want to keep them don't let someone talk you into ripping them out until you talk to Adam!

He removed all the nicks and scratches and made the floor look so smooth. Adam is very friendly and he communicates well with his customer . I'd highly recommend him for any wood floor project.

I learned later, with other craftsmen, that with correct tools and consideration of my desired outcome, it was not necessary to butcher my floors on their edges. This flooring company tore my floor up. I did try to go cheap so I went with them. I did not know that when we negotiated price, I negotiated away the sealant ti protect floors and allowance to butcher my floors. I was told back/forth 2/3 coats on floor. With/without sealant? Angel said 2 coats sealant. Soon dirt is well in the grains of wood. I know because I can see where a rectifying area was made with the sealant compared to everything that sticks with floor. I have question is it the @Bona #Bona product. My first rodeo. Fixing will cost me an entire 675 sq new floor. It aches my heart. I don't have that kind of money and I wanted a nice outcome. If I had been informed more, I would have work harder to have paid more instead to spend so much more now fix in a few years after I save to do it. Why are workers not honest?!!!! Please inform the consumer the cost of cutting price. I have regrets that will cost me now to redo and seal my floors, and more, if I want to resume my useable sq ftg because you ate it away to close the gaps you butchered. Please do not do this to another customer again. Just be honest even if you don't get the job. I am so hurt.

If you've worked with a lot of folks in the trades, this is very much the exception to the rule, and as such I was pleasantly surprised. Lou quickly got back to me with a very reasonable quote, and once we agreed on the details and a date, we were off and running. We had some damage and discoloration on our white oak floors, and we wanted to sand and refinish them. Lou was helpful as we got together the paperwork my building required to get it done. On the agreed upon day, his guys showed up on time, and while they weren't the excellent communicators that he is (their English wasn't great), they were conscientious and obviously knew what they were doing. Lou said the work would take 1-2 days, and they were done in just a day. We had a minor hiccup after the fact, but Lou immediately investigated the issue, and handled it well. I'll definitely be going straight to Buono's next time I need any flooring work done.

I called Andy to get roller shades installed to block some of the sun out, but still let in some light. He was super patient explaining to me which kinds of shades let in how much light and helped me decide which ones would work best where. They were also really accommodating with setting up out install since our hours run late and we couldn't install shades during working hours. The shades look great and they're lifesavers right now during this heatwave. 10/10 would work with again.

Right before the guys come to install the carpet, I ask them again, they measure my door and said yes the carpet will fit under the door! But when they are done with the work, my door is very hard to be close! Because the carpet is too thick! I call the office the next day and mention about the problem! They told me "the solution is to order a thiner carpet but since you already have it install, you will have to cut the end of your door!" Yep! That's what I being told and he sounds like is not their problem any more! That's problem 1! The next problem is when me and my 3 young kids step at the edge of the carpet that is connected to the kitchen and bathroom, we often step into something pointy, at first we though it was some Lego piece or small piece of garbage! Until last night my son step on it again and hurt his foot! My husband look into the carpet carefully and find out more than 10 nails sticking out of the carpet! This time I email them about the problem and attached the photo! They reply to me this: "Well, the nails are supposed to be able to puncture the backing of the carpet in order to really hold it in place, so it'll stick out a little bit. If you want, you can hammer them down, but then I can't guarantee that the carpet will still be in place after a short time." I was very upset! I told him I have 3 little kids living in the house! And he reply this: "I understand your frustration. This is the first time someone has complained about the carpet. If my schedule isn't too busy I can send my installers to check and try to fix the problem, but I would have to charge $150. It has been more than 30 days since the carpet has been installed so I wouldn't be able to consider it under any warranty. As far as the doors go, it should have been high enough to close smoothly, but seeing how it isn't now, the only solutions are to replace the carpet or cut the doors, which we don't do as stated in the invoice you signed." I was very disappointed at the way they solve the problem with me! Basically is do it my self or paid for them to come fix it! I also research online about this problem, they said is common that the nails will come out! But is uncommon to put the trackless strips on a very traffic area! Yes! They put trackless strips at my entryway from the front door, in front of the bathroom and entry for the kitchen! And all of those area is where people step on the most! I can not believe the carpet guy who came to install my carpet have over 20 years of experience and still make those mistakes! And looks like after they got my money, all the problem I have to deal with it on my own! After all those problem I have with them, I will never recommend this place to any one!
