This guy is very unprofessional and obviously hard up for doing work.
I was looking for an electrician that could install a dishwasher in my high-rise condo unit in Chicago area. I reluctantly looked on craigslist and found Jimmy's ad for lightning bolt electrician. Started off with a great conversation. I informed him of the scope of the work. Sent detailed pictures of where the power can be pulled from and dropped down to make an outlet for the dishwasher. He quoted me a price of $400 which was lower than some of the other electricians I was getting quotes from on Angie's list. He seemed very eager to do the job pushing me for dates for him to come out and start the work. However I told him I have not yet bought the dishwasher when I do I will let him know and we can proceed from there. Once I purchased the dishwasher, I then called him and wanted to talk to him on the phone before we proceed so I can feel comfortable that he is knowledgeable with doing the work. He informed me he want to keep everything on text for proof of conversation. I agreed and he sent me his credentials, business card, and other information that I asked for. after a few days went by the woodworker doing my cabinet work asked me did I have electrician I told him yes I told him the price I was given. He then told me I was paying too much and suggested I use someone he knows. I called the person and he quoted me half the price the current electrician was asking. He's a licensed electrician with full cadential's and experience. I then informed Jimmy that I felt his price was high and I found someone that would do it within my budget. I think him for his professionalism and told him I would keep him in mind for any other jobs if you would like.
