Tony is excellent to work with - in addition to having great electrician skills, he is highly communicative, responsive to questions, helped understand alternatives and trade-offs, and is very fairly priced for his high quality and efficient work. He respects the homes he visits and is genuinely interested in his clients as people. I am not hesitating to make Tony my go-to electrician! we hired Tony to install several light fixtures and repair an outlet. He was very responsive and made room on his schedule to match our availability. He and his assistant Nathaniel were very good, personable, and did an excellent job in record time. one of our fixtures was a modern chandelier that was tricky to configure and install, but they did an excellent job and the price was very reasonable. We will not hesitate to hire them again for future work. read more

A friend recommended that I contact Anthony because they had a great experience working with him. Anthony and his friend were great! They were both so nice and friendly and even my dog loved them. They came to install within a week after contacting them. Sent me an estimate that was reasonable within minutes after sending them photos of what needed to be done. Once they arrived, they were so efficient and finished installing a pendant light and a closet light in just over an hour! He will be my go-to electrician from now on and definitely would recommend! read more

Story Book Electric - The finished product and Anthony did a wonderful job. - Electricians Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Tony responded to the request for quote on Yelp asking for a phone call. The other responding companies mostly interacted by Yelp or text messages (which was a great way to get the initial information communicated). On the call Tony was rude and condescending from the beginning. He berated me for the light fixtures I had selected to replace the existing under cabinet fixtures. He was insulting - telling me I was too stupid to understand how lights worked; he told me he had an electrical engineering degree and knew more about lights that anyone else. He responded to factual questions with ad hominem attacks and made up technical gobbledygook (for example, when discussing the level of light from a fixture measured in lumens, Tony kept screaming "there is no minus in electrical engineering, it is a big formula that you wouldn't understand") It is apparent that in Tony's story book there is only one way to do things - Tony's way or not. I would like to believe that Tony was trying to be helpful and sharing the lessons he has learned; and that he just has a less than optimal mode of relating to people. He has a very nice website and from the reviews it appears that people who follow his way are happy with the result. This storybook has a happy ending, I used a different licensed electrician who was pleasant, informative, timely, and competent. My lights work beautifully. Whether Tony's storybook has a happy ending is up to Tony and his other customers. I am happy I did not choose Tony. I would not recommend Tony. read more

Tony was fantastic. He responded right away, came out the next morning to see the project, and quoted a price that was below his competitors. I asked him to install a new fixture in my bathroom, add a switch, and connect that switch to my exhaust fan so that I could control the fan and light separately (previously, if you turned on the light, the fan would come on too). He came up with a better solution than what I asked for -- instead of cutting into the wall, he gave me two side switches on top of one another. The work was quick, flawless, and he's a nice guy to boot. Hire this company. read more

Great experience with Anthony and Storybook Electric. He is professional, gets to the point, and is super reliable. Had no problem coming out over the weekend and being flexible. We had a ring floodlight camera installed and he needed to install new wiring, etc. Looks great. This is the second time we have worked with Anthony and Storybook electric. The first time we used his company was for a fiber install that AT&T (they are limited in what they are allowed to do) couldn't do. He was able to get high speed fiber going to our house. It wasn't an easy job to get all the wiring to the house and he made it happen. We will definitely use his company again! read more

The person who came to our house did not give an accurate quote prior to the job, and we felt he majorly overcharged us. I was threatened to edit my review. I'd recommend hiring a different company. The owner continued to contact me, telling me he'd been fired and pretending to be the manager via a different phone number. Definitely go with another company. This is the most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with for a home repair. read more

I felt compelled to add this review because the owner of Storybook Electric, Anthony R. has NOT ceased to contact, harass, and stalk me since our brief contact last year end of October. This is disturbing enough without his latest comment today (March 19) where he makes up lies about me, what I said, and how things happened. I recorded the phone conversation, have texts on my prior review, and have attached screenshots to this review. Based on my experiences with him and his business, I would say he is VERY unprofessional and disturbed. Below screenshots: 1. Nov 12, 2021-- "Anthony R.-- Your reviews are really great. I'd love to keep in touch on Yelp" 2. Nov 28, 2021-- "jay R.-- Your reviews are really great. I'd love to keep in touch on Yelp" 3. Jan 30, 2022-- Sends me a message via his storybook electric account to try to bribe me to remove me review. Blocked/ignored him. 4. Shows he's attempted to "follow me" twice before. I have blocked him both times, blocked his calls to me when he started swearing at me and threatened to bring his son to my home--and yes, I have that recorded too--and offered without my asking (or wanting) to do the work for free. 5. Screenshots show his 11 comment updates since yesterday, March 19-March 20. 6. There exists NO "restraining order" against me as I've NEVER tried contacting him in any way except to post my original review Nov 1 and this update. Yelp reviews don't qualify for that. Anthony R is the only one who's messaged, threatened, begged, attempted bribery, and tried to "friend" me on here via 2 separate accounts. I am scrupulously honest when it comes to my Yelp experiences and in every review I write, here or elsewhere, I can back up EVERYTHING I say, and yet again am telling Anthony of Storybook Electric to STOP CONTACTING ME PERIOD-- as himself or via any other person or alias. read more

Tony was great! We had just moved into our house from a condominium a couple of weeks previous. As I went to take my daughter to school I realized the garage door wouldn't open. Obviously, we could manually work the garage door but there was no power at all to the garage itself. Since we are new to being home owners and to the area we don't have a lot of places that we can trust for specific services like an electrician, handyman, plumber etc. so I had to blindly pick an electrician from Yelp. I hate doing this, you never know who you will get. I don't know a lot about these services so the person could easily rip me off! After calling a couple of places that couldn't get out to me for at least day, Tony said he could squeeze me in! He was a life saver. He was said he could fit me in about 1.5 hrs. He even text me a few times to keep us updated. When he arrived he was able to figure the problem out pretty quickly and let me know. He said he could put a "band-aid" on it for now and then give us an estimate for it all! He was totally fair! It was obvious that We didn't know anything so he could have totally messed with us but he didn't at all! He gave us a price that was more than fair! Because Of our great experience with Tony we will definitely be calling him For bigger projects!! It's nice to have a person you can trust! Thanks Tony!! read more

Rescheduled for Thursday to address issues see you then.

I needed someone to stop by and check out some old wiring to determine whether or not it was live and if so then to possibly rewire in order to allow for another unrelated project to proceed. Tony responded in a very timely manner and stopped by the very next day as agreed upon. Unfortunately, he did run into some issues out of his control that delayed his arrival time but he kept me up to date on what was going on and did not leave me wondering. On arrival he was very professional, honest and went as far as to answer a bunch of other electrical questions I had throughout the house that was unrelated to his visit. I can now say without hesitation that I have found an electrician I can count on from here on out and would highly recommend Tony at Story Book to friends and family. read more

After the electrical panel was installed, my lights started to blink, the panel box making a buzzing noise. I called for Tony to come back out. He made an appointment of 12:30 P.M. After he didn't show by 1:53 P.M., I called him. He immediately started yelling at me. He said he sent me a text message. I told him my number was a land line. He said nobody has land lines anymore. I don't want to do business with you, still yelling at me, and then hung up in my face. He said, I needed to replace the electrical panel. Now, I have to call another electrician to do the job right, to be safe, and spend more money. C. Coleman read more

I had a great experience with Tony And Story Book Electric. I had a small job that I thought was complicated. When I asked for a quote through Yelp Tony quoted me $150- $250 based on what I had explained. Tony was a pleasure to work with! I would highly recommend Storybook Electric and plan to use them for future electrical projects. Tony worked with us over a couple of weeks, looking for a custom solution and piece of hardware to hang our new dining room chandelier.
