Today my wife ordered for me a pizza burger. how dare any establishment to serve such a disgusting meal.the sauce on tasted like it came from a can. One bite i took it apart and discovered how much oil came from the burger. Are you kidding me are you trying to make people sick serving thst crap.....its like new owners took over and a grease cook cooked this crap. Since this is the crap you had delivered to me i will never set foot in your place. As a educated chef myself i would never serve this crap.do you people even sample the crap you serve. Take some pride Before you sell something let your staff taste it and give you feed back on the product. Since i wasnt going to take another bite ..i squeezed close to half of cup of grease out of this burger what the hell did they deep fry the burger. The light house use to be real good. And the breakfast was great but now ill never go back .. read more

I don't have much to say because I couldn't even try the food. Why would I? The service from the get go was horrible. We were told we can sit anywhere, that's fine no complaints, then we're handed the menu by a gray short haired woman who hands us all our menus in just a pile plopped onto the table. Not handed out, but just tossed on there. We get no less than 30 seconds to even grab the menus, to then be asked what we want to drink as if we've been there before. Then In the ten seconds it took us all to open to the drinks, she threw her hands up and said, "Whatever I guess, I'll wait." We just opened the menus. Needless to say our party of 5 left after that and went looking for a new restaurant. Please anywhere else would be better service, but my recommendation is Figuritas, only 10 blocks up and my god deliciously cheap food, along with an actually wonderful hostess. read more

I was looking for a breakfast place and saw this place by accident. Loved that they have a parking lot in the back. It was really busy but this is a large restaurant so we were seated in a booth right away. I got the Greek omelet and my breakfast companion got the pancakes with bacon and ham. We shared everything and I really enjoyed my breakfast since everything was well done. I found the prices to be very fair and the service on point, I will be back. read more

Excellent breakfast, eggs were hot and the home fries crispy. Attentive service. Clean rest rooms. Will definitely stop again!! read more

Lighthouse Restaurant - Eggs Benedict - Diners Near Me - Bayonne, New Jersey

We come here once a week. Always have the best time at the lighthouse. Our service and waitress Christine is the best!

Stopped in during my travels. Had my doubts based on curb appeal. Very happy I got past that. Nice friendly place, good food and service. Appears to be a true neighborhood diner. I would recommend. read more

I have gone to the Lighthouse and ordered pickup for breakfast and have found it to be the typical Bayonne diner that flies all over the place with inconsistency. One time you can have the best Spanish Omelette in the Bayonne / Jersey City area and the next time the eggs are like water and the veggies are raw and flavorless. When ordering home fries you can roll the dice and hope for the best too as they are never the same as the last time, ranging from OK to flavorless, dry and horrible. My orders have been so bad that they are inedible and have been thrown in the garbage! I've experienced this multiple times too. The owner apparently does not understand that CONSISTENCY is a basic principle of a properly run restaurant and they hire incompetent morons who are not trained properly. Then again, that issue along with the highly social servers who look at the floor (eye aversion syndrome) while talking to you are recurring problems with so many places in this enigma of a town. read more

Wasn't Great! i had the Cuban Panini and it was to sweet for a Cuban! They down poured alot of Honey mustard instead of putting it on the side. Eggs Benedict was really good creamy and crunchy at the same time. French Toast is very comforting. DO NOT grab French Fries ever time i get the fries its not cooked all the way. I should have learned my lesson by the 4th time ordering -_- Waiter Service was ok i guess. She took her sweet time taking care of us. After we ate it took about 15 mins for her to get the check when it wasn't busy. read more

Much better than expected, to be honest. The gyros are really good, they use real lamb. It's a great spot for lunch or an early bird dinner. Don't go late, they like to close up early. The chicken kebabs are all meat, no veggies, so if you're into protein, they're great. Had a wonderful lunch there a few weeks ago with my friends and their elderly mom, and she's a hard woman to please. She loved the food. Went back last night and noticed that the place was empty post-dinner time. It's not one of those late-night diners, I guess. 3 of our party ordered reubens but they were out of sauerkraut. So, yeah, go early and it'll be great. Go late and you might be disappointed. read more

Nice little spot that I stopped in for breakfast. Lots of takeout orders were happening due to pandemic. Plenty of friendly staff to take care of the orders, and get my food out quickly. Eggs were perfect but if you like crispy potatoes, ask for them well done. As anyone from Jersey knows - best diners in the country. And this one didn't disappoint!! read more

Food was ok but in the middle of eating my breakfast the host decided to seat ppl party of 5 right next to my table 1 foot away disregarding the covid guide lines of 6 feet I was immediately turned off with the coughing kid with them and asked them to get my check.. the only response is that they will move me even though I'm already half way thru my breakfast so damn rude. Covid is getting worse learn your covid guide lines !!! read more

A good inexpensive meal, service was good and being able to get a drink is a plus. Pay at front counter.

Great food great environment kind of a staple in Bayonne it's a must try for breakfast or lunch

Plenty of seating available in this greasy-spoon establishment. We were seated quickly please start order and receive our food in under 10 minutes. I got the Greek omelette. The Greek omelette had feta cheese tomatoes and spinach. It was really good! I came and fried potatoes and buttered toast. My brother got the spinach omelette that also came with the toast potatoes. Both of us cleaned our plates Greek omelette. The Greek omelette had feta cheese tomatoes and spinach. It was really good! It came and fried potatoes and buttered toast. My daughter and I went here for the first time and thought we had a good experience until when we went to the check out counter to pay our bill, the Asian man asked us if we tip the waitress. We were offended by the question, the customers paying their bill before us wasn't asked that question. That was rude and offensive! We will never come back to the lighthouse ever again. NO STARS for this prejudice restaurant. read more

Horrible service if you aren't white, me and my family went inside and staff saw us standing waiting to be seated but no one came to even ask how mow many were in our party, the old white lady at the cash register yelled at us to keep the door closed but The lady was too busy being an asshole rather than seeing that it was DIFFERENT people closing the door and not my family who kept waiting for service. If you're in town as a visitor don't go to this place.. read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews but my goodness. This place has terrible food and rude service. Left half my food and feeling so nasueous. Never going back again. read more

I bought steak and eggs from here just plain no cheese and a side of pancake for pick up. When i got there it was $33.00 i was shocked but I decided "this must be the worlds most delicious steak and eggs and pancakes" excitedly i hurried home. Guys! SAVE YOUR MONEY DO NOT EAT HERE IT IS HORRIBLE. the steak was thin and seasoned with freezer burn and the pancakes were as heavy as anchors. fool me once lighthouse I rather ball up my $33.00 next time and eat that. you're disgusting. read more

Just stopped in for a bite to eat while waiting to board our ship. Food was ok, but our waitress Nicole was awesome. She was very attentive, and went out of her way to be helpful. She saw my cell phone charger wasn't working and graciously offered me hers to use. Prices are average, food was ok (fruit cup wasn't fresh though). read more

THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON SEVERAL VISITS. The last time I came to this local diner, I sat at the counter, where Iwatched the waitress handle bread with her bare hands. She then informed me that the local Department of Health DOES NOT REQUIRE THE USE OF GLOVES BY FOOD HANDLERS. That was the last time I set foot in this place. read more

The only reason for two stars is decent service. This place serves some of the worst food I've ever eaten. They should cut down the menu a bit. The soup was like hot watery sodium with large bow tie pasta. Mozzarella sticks looked and tasted like they had some kind of soft spreadable cheese inside that didn't get stringy, melt very well or were just really cheap and old. The turkey club sandwich, bacon was good but barely there, too much turkey that was a weird color and texture so I just didn't eat it. Also, fries are just bland and under seasoned. It's cheap but not worth it wasting a meal here either way. read more

Wow, this place is bad... Went with a group of 16 and got two waiters. They managed to forget 1/2 the orders. And it wasn't like one of the waiters skrewed up. They both forgot orders. They claimed it was the kitchen's fault, but who cares? It still took an hour to get my food. One person ordered a vegetarian dish and they put chicken into it. The waiter never came around and asked people for refills on their water. He only did it when asked and seemed surprised each time. Food was bad, even by diner standards. At least it was cheap. read more

The owner is very rude. We have been going here for 4 years but wont be frequenting this diner again. I have always gotten the special and then cake which is included. The menu says comes with a layer cake but tonight the owner insisted it's only 1 specific cake. This has never been the case in all my other visits. There was no effort made to speak to us by the owner and horrible customer service. Now they have lost loyal customers. read more

Lynn is such an excellent server shes so sweet and very accommodating!! Best service ive ever gotten at a diner!

Have been going here for years , but today. I was ripped off at the register by the Hostess. Tall woman brown hair and always dressed up. I have breakfast this morning. I specifically made sure of how much money I had in my wallet before leaving my home. I did not have $1,$5 or $10.00. I put three $20.00's in my wallet. I went to the register to pay for my meal and purposely separated the check from the $20.00 and did make sure it was a $20.00 dollar bill I was using to pay the bill. I also separated the check from the money on the counter so the woman could see the money. My check was about $6 and change. I was given $3.00 and change back and told the woman I just gave you a 20 dollar bill , you own me $10.00. She tried to tell me I put it on the register and it was a $10 , but I made sure I had 3 $20's today , so I knew she was lying. I was polite and fought her. She finally gave me the $10.00 back . I was about two minutes from calling Bayonne Police so they could investigate. I am almost a Senior Citizen and need my money. I told several people and found one person who she did the same thing to years ago. So, this woman has been doing this a long time. This is not a mistake because today I made sure of how much money I had in my wallet. This woman probably won't do it to all , but to a chosen few. Be careful! I will never go back again! A word to the wise if sufficient. read more

Excellent breakfast place. I have eaten breakfast here a few times and it has always been spot on. Breakfast special of two eggs, meat, home fries, toast, coffee and juice is $6.75. My eggs were cooked correctly, home fries were crispy as per my request, sausages were very tasty. Service was excellent (Maria was always there with coffee and checking to make sure everything was ok). Have only had breakfast there so I can't vouch for other food, but I would highly recommend. read more

Very mediocre food, slow service and dirty utensils. Best guess- out of business within (6) months.

The tomatoes are SOGGY and I found a HAIR in my salad, the wait time for them to deliver is completely ridiculous, I ordered ONE meal only for myself, nothing too complicated and it came TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATER. And I'm not even joking. I called and the lady on the phone had a nasty tone to her voice. Great way to lose business guys, definitely not ordering again. I'll probably die of starvation next time. read more

Four stars because I had a wonderful waitress and the wait time was not as long as it usually is in restaurants. Overall the experience was great. The only thing that was off was my hot chocolate. It was TOTALLY watered down. So I guess I won't be ordering hot chocolate from there again. I'll be back though because the food was all in all great and the service was great. If it wasn't for the hot chocolate it would've been 5 stars. read more

Went for breakfast this morning. Restaurant wasn't busy yet the food took a good 15 - 20 minutes to come out. Corned Beef Hash definitely came out of a can. Waitress clearly didn't want to be there. Asked for sweetener for my coffee, she never brought it. Asked for Butter for my pancakes, waitress was annoyed that she had to go get it. With all the other options in Bayonne, definitely never going back there again. read more

I have have dined at this restaurant on quite a few occasions. The service has always been okay, the food has been what you expect from a diner, and you get your regular rude patron that interrupts your server as they take your order. The experience I had today was the first one that warranted a review. The reason I am giving this place two stars is that I am averaging my overall experience from the first visit, until this one. The meal was great. They have new items in the brunch menu that my boyfriend and I tried and loved (even though I was served someone else's food at first.) The problem was the refill of the coffee. Maria came and poured us each a fresh cup, and after pouring his cream, my boyfriend noticed a fly floating in it. He fished it out and I placed confirmed it. A fly on the spoon that just came from the coffee. I asked a passing server for the manager and she took a detour to Maria to let her know that I was asking for him. Maria comes over and asks what's wrong and when I show her the fly, SHE WIPES HE SPOON WITH HER FINGERS AND SAYS "SOMETIMES THE COFFEE GROUNDS GET INTO THE POT" and poured a new cup, from the same pot, that the fly came from! Are you kidding me? I guess coffee is evolving and growing wings, because I saw them. On the spoon. From the coffee. And she wiped it with her hands, and rolled it between her fingers. Maria is bold. Don't trust her though, because if she can't tell the difference between a big ass fly and a coffee ground, she's Cuoco for coco puffs. Ps: the manager came over and I explained exactly what happened with Maria, and he apologized and offered a fresh cup.... guess it would have come from the fly pot as well. He did, however, have a very calming demeanor. Like a dad. read more

If you visit this restaurant you better secure your vehicle in the lot and move it very promptly after you've finished dinner. I ran across the street for a few minutes and when I returned as I backed out of my space I felt as if I ran over something. Two days later I discovered screws in my front tires which caused slow leaks. I will never give them my patronage again. So beware of your vehicles. read more

I've been coming here for over 20 years, but I will NEVER go back. We were COMPLETELY IGNORED and nobody would take our order. We were seated right away and then COMPLETELY FOGOTTEN ABOUT. Over 20 minutes passed, 3 other tables near us were seated, and those tables ALREADY HAD THEIR ORDERS TAKEN AND FOOD SERVED, AND STILL NOBODY TOOK OUR ORDER. I asked a waiter if anybody was going to take our order, and instead of addressing me, he started yelling at other members of the wait staff. We sat more than another 5 minutes and still nobody even addressed us, let alone came over to take our order. One table that was seated after us had gotten their check already and we were still being ignored. That was the point we got up and walked out. Don't come here unless you like being completely ignored and like wasting your time. read more

The Lighthouse is and has been one of Bayonne's staples for over 30 years. My family has breakfast there almost every Saturday morning! Food is excellent for a NJ diner. My wife loves their Gyros and I love the Chocolate Chip pancakes and Body Builder Protein Omelets. Service is excellent and friendly. They have a great rapport with everyone. They also offer parking in the back but there is plenty of street parking in the heart of their business district. The Lighthouse is also a gathering place for regulars. With its family atmosphere, its also a definite hit and a can't miss. Enjoy, you won't be disappointed. read more

I am just so angry with The Lighthouse right now. I am a regular customer here. I was asked by a co-worker to call in a pick-up order. As it was not my order I didn't want to make a mistake so I had yelled off to him to confirm what he said. I guess the woman thought that I had put the phone away from my ear but I did not and she says "Oh God, have your order ready before you call it in" So I politely asked, if I was bothering her and she ignored me and I asked again and she said "Oh no, I was talking to someone else." I said "No I don't think you were and that is very rude." Moral of my story- not only do they show you the pick up fee on their receipt they are extremely rude for pick up orders you just never know who is on the other end of the phone. I may be boycotting them for this. read more
