I brought in a lamp for repair, which was quickly completed in two days time. In carrying out my requested repair, the owner discovered a frayed wire inside the lamp in an area that I could not see. I am so grateful for this extra care because of the possible risk of fire. The service at this store was timely, the owner helpful and easy to talk with, and he provided good advice going forward so that the hazardous situation would not occur again. read more

After I had unsuccessfully made many attempts to do the same thing, the older gentleman behind the counter skillfully reattached the lampshades on two pewter lamp bases so that they look as good as new. It took him about 20 minutes and the lamps look professionally restored! read more

Owner is a sweet, older gentleman. He repaired my lamp in just one day and only charged $25. I was so happy that my irreplaceable lamp was repaired so quickly. Easy parking right in front of the store and a cute dog behind the counter, too. read more

I am thrilled to have discovered Lighthouse Lighting and lamps. It has been sitting there next to the CVS and I have never had the opportunity to visit until recently. I purchased a chandelier at an estate sale. I was so excited to have it hung in my newly remodeled house when I discovered one of the arms had been broken during transport. I took my poor broken chandelier into Sal the proprietor of the establishment and was so excited to hear that it can be fixed. Sal is a fountain of information and the kindest man I have met in a long long time. His knowledge and sweet temperament, makes it impossible for you not to fall in love with him. He identified the era of my chandelier and has gone to great lengths to make sure it will be restored to its original beauty and that it will hang in my home as soon as we find some additional crystals and have it re-wired and cleaned. If you need any lighting fixtures or if you need something fixed, I would highly highly recommend checking in with Sal before going anywhere else. Oh, I was so excited just to have my chandelier in good hands and being repaired that I forgot to mention I found the prices very reasonable and I am not on a strict time schedule because life is too short to be crazy about timelines when you don't have to be . So, quality of service and value are excellent in my humble opinion. read more

I had an antique desk lamp that needed an entirely new socket. Because of its unique design, it was a tough job to remove and replace the part. I walked in on a Tuesday afternoon and 45 minutes later, Sal had fixed it after many twists and turns with his tools. It was nothing short of a miracle. Anyone else would have given up and deemed the lamp irreparable. SO happy to have the lamp working again. I recommend Sal to anyone who needs repair work. read more

Wonderful little shop where unlike many stores these days which direct you to their website for best inventory, these guys actually carry a terrific and varied selection of lamps, from floor standing to sconces to ceiling ... I have a thing for lamps, light is everything ... I dunno maybe cuz I love the sun so much. It's a relatively small store, not one of those bigger warehouse type places, but I love this much better. The service is personalized and the shopping process feels more intimate. We felt free to browse and didn't feel rushed. The prices seemed fair and the location central. read more

Sal is very courteous and attentive. It is a pleasure to do business here and he has a vast knowledge of his craft and trade.

I have been trying to do business with small local businesses because both Amazon and Covid are destroying them. As I walked into the shop I was greeted by the owner. He was very pleasant and I got a great vibe from him. He helped me very quickly and we discovered my lamp was actually not broken. I told him I wanted to buy something because I didn't have a job for him any longer and he told me that he appreciated that but it was not necessary. I bought something anyway because of his helpfulness and kindness! Please support this small business, this gentleman is probably having a hard time with the current climate. read more

Just like the other reviews say, the owner is an absolute gem! He is very nice, knowledgeable, and honest. I came in with my old vintage lamp which appeared to be going out on me. He looked it helped repair it and didn't charge me! He also gave me tips to help clean my lampshade and how to properly unscrew the top piece to the lamp. There truly isn't many businesses that have such a great work ethic like the owner does here. You're in the market for beautiful lamp, or need some lamp repairs I would highly recommend coming here. read more

The gentleman looked at my lamp, fixed it on the spot and didn't charge me. It was a simple solution and I really appreciate his kindness.

Lighthouse Lightin & Lamps, is everything that past reviewer's have said, and more! I had a very special lamp, that needed to be repaired (sentimental value) and Sal was able to fix it. I was in and out of the store, in about 20 minutes (Sal repaired the lamp- not serious problem) while I waited. I am so grateful, to have my lamp, working again. Besides being a great repair shop, LightHouse Lighting & Lamp's, have one of the nicest inventory of lamp's, that I have ever seen. Next time I go in, it will be to purchase a lamp or a shade. Everything, seems so complicated now-a-day's, that it is nice to have a store to go to, that excell's in making thing's comfortable and easy. It was very easy for me to give the store 5 stars. read more

I wish my experience was as good as some of the others, and all I did was call! I do not live in the area, but go to Monterey often. I have an antique lamp that needs help. When I asked the guy if he did repairs, he replied "Yes we do." The sign on the door says Mondays by appointment (my only day off), so I called to make an appointment. The Guy said he was having a procedure on Monday and would return on Tuesday. OK. "So what about the next week?" I asked. Well it may be that day too (I paraphrase). My Mother had called about 10am and spoke with a guy that said the person who does the scheduling doesn't come in until noon. She waited and called again. He responded to her request with they do not sell switches. So get it straight! Do you make appointments as posted on your door? (Obviously not!!) Do you want my business? (Again, OBVIOUSLY NOT!) Will you get my business in the future?? NEVER!!!! read more
