one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. Always a bad start when a menu has no vegetarian or vegan entrees (this is not 1980). However, we were offered a veggie risotto or pasta. I chose the risotto and was told it would be out shortly. After 30 mins we had no food and were told they had no risotto so pasta or nothing.. After an hour, still no food so we asked for a manager who did come over but this was the same guy who stood behind us watching the poor server take the flack for the restaurants failings. He gave off some attitude too. The food arrived at this point, it was cold and had virtually no pasta in it. Honestly, if this was not the only option at our hotel, we would have walked away. Another issue was they did not have the wine we chose off the menu either. The server did everything she could and was so apologetic for the failings which we could clearly see were not of her making. We did get a discount for the inconvenience but this did not make up for a ruined night. This made the whole experience even more uncomfortable. AVOID this place at all costs. read more

I had a delightful holiday meal at the grill. We had seafood chowder mushroom soup and wedge salads. For dessert we shared a crème brûlée with berries. Our waitress Gisselle was wonderful. Despite a bitter start with a tart of a hostess who scolded us for being 15 minutes late( you may find rushed service as we are full. However, we found plenty on open table available tables after we were seated. I would give the service and food an A+, but the greeting still left a bad taste. Hard to believe that Hilton has their name attached to this restaurant. Food was below par, if that and price rang out very high for quality served. Service seemed to be combative when asked questions and totally forgot to put order in, looked like our server had issues with other tables, terrible service. Waiting for food while other tables that sat down after us received ordered dishes, not a good way to get customers back for additional visits. Decided to get our food to go because we had two young children and it was getting late. Once home and opening to go containers, sad display on presentation and much of it was tossed out. Ambiance was very nice, we just happen to get the wrong server. Our server (Shannon) attempted to make up for her mistakes by not charging for drinks and giving us a local discount. Went here on a recommendation. The restaurant is behind the Hyatt Place hotel. The setting is nice. We ate outside with a view of the dock and lighthouse. After dinner we took a nice walk and got some great phots of the sunset. For dinner, I was looking for something other than fish. I was hoping for a steak but the only red meat was prime rib. I chose the smaller size and it was good. Came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The bread basket was served with the meal. We also had a shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. I lowered the rating for a few reasons. First our server had absolutely no interest in waiting on tables. There were many examples of this but I'll just leave it as indifference, nothing mean. The shrimp cocktail was 5 shrimp served on a little dish over a sliced lime. No presentation. The menu was rather limited. The fish was a couple of different versions of tuna. For our experience, we really enjoyed it! We called for reservation & seated outdoor with a gorgeous view of the lighthouse & background of waterfront & sunset casting shadows - what a lovely evening setting. Food was one of the best seafood options menu & the quality was equally impressed. Calamari, Tuna Tartare, Conch Soup, Fresh Catch of the day (Grouper with Blackened Style), Mahi Mahi, Classic Burger (Mr. 10 Years of Age was quite pleased!) Caesar Salad with anchovies. We covered the basic and highlights of the menu. We also enjoyed the local brewed beer in Keys, Crazy Lady Honey Blonde. The service was also nice & friendly. We had a really good fish dip served with spicy tortilla chips and jalapeños. I had the conch chowder which was very good. It had just the right amount of kick. This spot is amazing! Great views and great food to enjoy it with. Food was fresh and well made. I had the garden risotto, and my party had the mahi mahi sandwich and the yellowtail snapper catch of the day. For appetizers, highly recommend the fish dip! Calamari was delicious too. Still going 3 stars strong. We came back after a year to see if anything had improved. The service here is excellent but the food continues to disappoint. It smelled like dirty feet when we checked in at the weirdly placed host/hostess area. The fried queso app is weird and has unexpected flavors. Seafood chowder was excellent! The scallops were the chewiest I've ever had, and the risotto has a weird flavor that sticks with you for a bit. Chicken entree and chicken sandwich both did not get great reviews in our group. As a regular here we are extremely disappointed that Father's Day was a disaster. Called a few days before Father's Day to inquire if they would be having Brunch as they did for Mother's Day. Was advised that they were and that a reservation was required. Called back the following day to make reservation (since I needed a head count). Second time calling restaurant and once again asked if they were going to have brunch and once again was told "yes". Arrived at restaurant and was greeted by host who took us to our table inside. We asked if we could be seated outside since we observed the food was placed outside. Was told it would not be a problem, however after 10 min we were advised that the table outside was for another party. Funny thing is that during our time at the restaurant no one was ever seated at that table. When we finally made our way to the food it was all downhill!!! First of all it was NOT a brunch it was a so called barbecue. Taco options to one side all of which were uncovered food items with flies all over the dishes and the dishes to the other side had bland pale cold fish and oysters with flies all over it!!! Then to the back of pool deck there were hamburgers, ribs and steak all of which were cold and flavorless. No salad bar, no side dishes, no fruits, no cheese, no eggs, no pastries! IT WAS AN EPIC FAIL!!!!!! Expressed our discontentment with a manager who simply said "sorry the person who answered may have made a mistake in saying it was a brunch" yet ... had the nerves to tell our server "that our table was the only one who misunderstood". Yea I don't think so!!! Since kids were hungry they had no choice but to eat hamburgers for breakfast. We tried what we thought were strawberry shortcakes (they were directly out of the kitchen so we knew no flies had a chance to get on them) and once again another dissatisfaction. It was strawberries over a half of a biscuit, simply awful. If you don't like rich food , I'd avoid the risotto . While it is amazing, your stomach may disagree. Overall a good experience, just not the waterfront dining we imagined. The hotel had a wedding going on and tons of kids splashing in a pool but that will happen at any hotel! Maybe just don't plan a romantic outing there and you will be good.
