Having lived in downtown Reno for the past 4 years I feel spoiled being a short walk from Hub or Old World Coffee. Now that we are moving to Sparks I was bummed because my favorite coffee shops were the opposite way of home and work. Until I went to Lighthouse. This place is really great, it was nice to find a similar atmosphere but in Sparks. First visit we tried the Mocha, Latte and a Bacon Cheddar Bagel (from Daily Bagel) with Jalapeño Artichoke spread. The bagel was really tasty and freshly toasted. We have since gone back and tried the Jalapeño cheddar which is awesome as well. Mocha has been consistent on each visit and really tasty. I prefer a bitter dark chocolate mocha but this is tasty. The Mrs enjoyed the Latte and has also tried the Chai Latte and was happy with her purchase. My only negative is the cleanliness, organization and decor of the "mother ship" location. Any fixture that is above eye level is super dusty. Boxes and supplies used for making drinks are mixed into the cooler with product customers buy (lots of clutter in the hall to the bathroom) and there are holes from fixtures from the previous establishment. All easy fixes. All in all, my wife and I make a point to meet after work to grab our drinks and head home. We both really enjoy this shop and tell our friends about it. We look forward to trying the Marina location in the future. read more

I'm a Coffeeaholic and I can not lie, Lighthouse is my go to! Drinks are always good, service is friendly, very clean... all the things! I love that they carry local kombucha on tap and find myself there often to grab some as the weather gets warmer. They carry monthly specials that I always try and it's nice to change up from my usual choices! When I need a change of scenery from my desk at home, I enjoy the vibe of working at Lighthouse for a few hours. The marina location and this one are both wonderful! read more

I needed somewhere to 1) hang out while waiting for a nearby Costco to open, 2) charge my iphone, 3) get a good cup of Americano coffee plus a bite to eat...and this Sparks Lighthouse Coffee filled the bill! I had just dropped off my dear husband at Reknown Hospital in Reno at 8am for a "heart scan" procedure which would take around 3-5 hours. Living 50 miles away, I decided to shop at a local Costco but the store would not open until 10am. There were several Starbucks closer to my location, but the 4.5 rating for this cafe caught my attention. This high rating is very accurate because of the friendly ladies taking your orders, the excellent coffee and breakfast sandwich and the cheerful warm ambiance. I may never come back here because I live too far away, but the positive impression will come back every time I see a Lighthouse Coffee Cafe. read more

Amazing local coffee shop! Cheaper and better crafted beverages than Starbucks. Hands down. The staff is always friendly and on top of it. I really love the atmosphere of this coffee shop. But the dirty chai I had here was average. Don't get me wrong; it was tasty, but nothing special about it. I also tried their Canadian bacon quiche with a side of salsa; this was also good, but nothing special. I was expecting something out of this world with their drinks and food from the reviews I have read, but maybe I just didn't get the right thing. Will definitely give it another shot though to see if I find something spectacular. But on another note, the service is wonderful and the people who work here are very friendly, a reason why I do want to come back. read more

Finally made it here and wow was it worth it. We ordered 3 drinks (mocha, hot chocolate and a caramilla. All three drinks were very good, but I must say that the mocha (not mine) was the best tasting of the three. We also ordered two bagels (jalapeno/cheddar and blueberry) which are from my favorite muffin. They were wonderfully fresh and tasty. The staff made us feel very welcome and took the time to explain their drinks and food products, even though there were others behind us, sorry! The prices for the two medium espresso drinks were cheaper than Grandes at Starbucks, and tasted so much better! This location is just down the street from our house and will be our new coffee shop with Starbucks being a stop out of convenience more than anything else read more

We never go out this far in Sparks. Ever. Since we live in the South of Reno I thought we were in Utah it took us so long to get out here. I jest..... We stopped here on a whim and got a couple of Lattes. The coffee house was clean and the staff was friendly. What I like best about this place is the value though - the prices for the size of coffees were MUCH more reasonable than that other coffee place you know of. My only wish is that we had one of these closer to where I live! read more

Lighthouse Coffee at the corner of Vista Blvd and Los Altos has quickly become the favorite place for my BFF and I to meet! It has a different atmosphere than most businesses and truly feels like you are with friends (whether you met up with your BFF or not....lol). We both love their made in house quiches. My favorite (so much so that I won't even try any others) is their Veggie Quiche with a side of salsa. It's just crazy good! The variety of veggies work beautifully together. This is good for those like me who are gluten intolerant. There is a slight chance of cross-contamination of gluten, but I have had it three times now without any issues at all. The quiche isn't instantly ready, because they do not have them sitting under a heating element all day or anything. I am not sure what the heating method is, but I know that it isn't like I previously mentioned or a quick zap on high in a microwave. Whatever it is... it takes a few minutes and the quiche is better because of it. My BFF likes the one with ham. I believe there are about four or five options. My other go-to is the Blended Mocha which is similar to frappuccinos elsewhere. I get mine made with almond milk and cinnamon powder sprinkled on top. This Blended Mocha has so much more chocolate flavor... Oh My! I totally love it! Today, we had a planning meeting at Lighthouse and were there long enough to order the before mentioned items for lunch as well as going back for a Peach/Pear/Apricot Smoothie, gluten free Carrot Cake Muffin (from Rounds Bakery and sold there at Lighthouse), and a couple of ice cold bottles of water. The Peach/Pear/Apricot Smoothie was just what I was wanting... no dairy or bananas...just wonderful fruits that I love. It tasted like homegrown peaches right off of the tree and made into a smoothie. That's the way I like them! The Carrot Cake Muffin with icing was SO yummy! There were other gluten free options, too, like blueberry, pumpkin, etc. Their service has ALWAYS been top notch! Everyone is extremely friendly, helpful, and have genuine smiles. Even fellow customers are often in a good mood and often converse. Like I said before, this has become our favorite meeting place so much so that we don't even have to ask each other where we want to meet. It feels like home... if home came with baristas! read more

I just want to start off by saying lighthouse will forever be my favorite place to go for coffee. the staff is always super sweet, and the coffee is never short of being amazing. today i went to the vista location even though i usually go to the one on harbour cove. I ordered my usual coffee and as i went to pay i realized my apple pay had gotten canceled because i just reported my card as lost. i had no way of paying :( i apologized for wasting their time and as i was about to leave the lady working the window offered to pay for my drink so I could get my coffee. she could have simply let me leave, but instead was super amazing and bought it for me. simple acts of kindness like this just absolutely make my day. so to whoever you were, THANK YOU!! i wish i could have tipped you like you deserved! read more

Coffee was good but everything else was not. I wanted to break the routine and go somewhere fun and different for breakfast. I am still looking for that cool coffee local shop where I can walk with my dog, have some coffee, treats, and meet locals as I am new in town. Something different from the regular chain coffee shops. The staff was just doing business, they were more focus on the drive-through which was not even that busy, by the way. I sat at the bar and no eye-contact, no conversation at all. There were crumbs on the tables. It was not dirty but it could use some attention. Food was meh. I had a micro-waved heated quiche. I thought I would update my review since it was outdated and short. Lighthouse coffee is my second home. Todd,melanie,joel,hannah and caleb are family. Lighthouse coffee reminds me of that old show Cheers. Everyone knows you, they great you by your name and are genuinely friendly. If you did not know I am a coffee junkie,took me awhile to come to grips and realize it, but yes I love my coffee. I roast my own on occasion, and just recently bought a high end espresso maker. You are probably like saying, so get to the coffee review. Well I just wanted to share that when i go get coffee it is like a classroom. Todd has taught me to pull a good shot,how to froth milk and how to angle the milk pitcher so you do not get to much air. Most owners will not do that, because they are afraid they will lose business. With lighthouse and Todd, it is a appreciation of the coffee and process. It is educating there customers on organic coffee and fair trade. It truly is old school coffee, and I love it. I wish school could have been this fun. read more

Overall, the coffee shop is cute and small. It was right next to a marina which was a nice view. The customer service was nice and patient. (I ask a lot of questions). However, I didn't personally like the coffee. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte with oatmilk and a coffee cake. While the coffee cake was made in the coffee shop, it was dry and stale. The coffee tasted very sweet, I'm not a sweet coffee person so I didn't like it however, my boyfriend who doesn't like coffee thought it was good and the coffee cake. So if you like sweet coffee then I would suggest going to the lighthouse coffee. I personally would not go again however, I would say give it a chance if you like sweet coffee and a nice view. read more

The coffee here speaks for itself and deserves the 5 stars on its own. That being said, Lighthouse is all around wonderful. I pass it on my way to work and it's one of my favorite stops a couple times a week! My usual is an iced Caramilla and the Greek quiche but every thing I have had from here has been phenomenal! I love this coffee shop!! Not only is it close to my house, it's local and although a little pricey it's worth every penny. I was getting the vanilla chai tea but I tried their blended Carmel coffee with soy and it's SO good! I also have their quiche all the time, either sausage spinach or the Canadian bacon and green onion. Both are excellent! Great place with very friendly service!! They also have a stamp card. This is a great place with excellent customer service and delicious coffee. What I like best is that they have fresh brewed kombucha there. It is the best kombucha that I have tried anywhere. It is conveniently located and sparks on Vista and Los Altos. They even have a drive-thru which makes it very easy and convenient on those days where you just want to grab something really quick on the way to work or other activities and Sparks. I also found out today that they have another location at the Marina so I will be checking that out too. Five Stars across the board. read more
