Grabbing a coffee and walking the two mile loop around the marina melts my stress away. Their iced marmalade summer special is deliciously creamy and syrupy. The location can't be beat and the staff have always been extremely kind. This sweet little coffee house was perfect! Had the best ginger chai latte I've ever had. Actually, never had one but it was sweet and creamy with a lovely ginger taste. I went here today after the Starbucks I tried to meet at was overcrowded. This place is adorable. They have the nicest decor and most comfortable atmosphere of any coffee shop in Reno. And the view! The big windows overlooking the marina provides for a beautiful backdrop. The staff is very nice, if you ask for recommendation they are happy to direct you to their favorites by caffeinated or unleaded. The drinks are a bit pricey though, I spent about $5.50 on a medium "dirty pumpkin latte" today. Don't get me wrong, the drink was original and delicious but that exceeds my per cup preference. This place seems to be closed - they said they moved but there's just nothing in business here. However the "marina" where it's at is super hilarious, weird, and interesting. Basically it's a flooded gravel quarry. It started filling with water cuz they dug too deep. Then there was so much rain one year the whole place flooded and filled completely up. Taa-daa, a "marina"! Then they prettied it up and developed the area as a recreation site. God knows what's in the water. And people swim and fish in it! Oh- apparently one thing in the water is a sunken Vietnam War fighter jet!!! It's there as a "scuba diving feature!" You can read all this history on plaques around the "marina." Gotta love the West. Constantly reinventing itself. I wonder if this place has(had?) good coffee. read more

My family has started a Sunday morning tradition of riding our bikes to Lighthouse. I love that they have coffee (of course), muffins and things for the kiddos, and even beer and wine if you stop by later in the day. I usually order the iced Caramilla, which is perfect for those of us who like our coffee a little sugar (but less than the big chains). Stopped in to Lighthouse yesterday morning for a quick pick me up. I am a coffee junkies and have heard this is somewhere I needed to stop by since moving to Sparks. The location can throw you off a little but once you park and get inside, the view to the Marina is so beautiful! The shop was pretty crowded, but I was warmly greeted and order taken right away. I decided to double up on the lavender scone and lavender oatmilk latte. The scone was soft she flavorful. My latte was one of the best I have ever had with the espresso not tasting burnt or bitter and the sweetness was perfect! I will be a frequent visitor going forward! read more

Lighthouse Coffee is a great beacon of light when it comes to many coffee shops in the Reno/Sparks area. Located right next to the Sparks Marina, this place will definitely give you the pick-me-up you need in order to keep your day going. With its delicious coffee and drinks to the friendly staff, Lighthouse Coffee is and should be the place you should go to fuel your coffee addiction. To start off, the location is ideal! It sits alongside the Marina, so you can enjoy your drink before or after a quick little walk along the park. Legends is also walking distance away! The interior is very clean and well maintained. There is a couch, several tables, and even a bar sitting area. The exterior has several tables and is under shade, so you won't be subjected to the heat that much, so that's a nice touch! And I really like how there are giant windows that let in a lot of natural light! The atmosphere is laid back and perfect for studying. Patrons know not to be too loud as they can see other people studying. It's also a great spot to just hang out and catch up with your friends. It may get a little cramped during busy, peak hours (maybe in the morning), but I've been there multiple times in the afternoon on different days, and I've never had a problem finding/sitting at a table. Another aspect of why I like Lighthouse's atmosphere so much is the playlist(s). The music is exactly what I listen to, so if you like Indie pop / alternative, then this is your coffee shop! The service is exceptional! I always get my order within 2-3 minutes of ordering. I don't even have time to get myself situated at a table, and my order is already waiting for me at the counter! Talk about fast service! And the staff is amazing. They're always in a good mood and extremely friendly. On several occasions, I heard the staff singing in the back of the store. It's great to see employees having a good time at work! It must mean they really like working there, and that really is a one or two star difference for me! Finally for the drinks! I've never had a bad drink here before, ever! I've gotten several drinks here before, and my favorite has to be the Matcha Smoothie! It's smooth, creamy, and does not leave a weird aftertaste in your mouth, unlike some other matcha drinks I've had in town. I've also had the iced latte a few times, and that was also lovely. As for straight up black coffee, I have not had that before, but I'm sure it's good since the quality and care of the other drinks/ingredients is top-notch! The price is also comparable to other coffee shops / chains. Sadly, I have not had any of their food YET! But the next time I go, I'm trying their quiches! Overall, I love Lighthouse Coffee! Lighthouse is such a hidden gem! It is right next to the Sparks Marina, so you have a beautiful view. The only reason I don't come here often is because it is far from where I live. Most people go to more common places like Coffee Bar or Old World Coffee, but I recommend driving the extra 10 minutes or so to try Lighthouse Coffee. You won't be disappointed! The Drinks: 5/5 The prices are pretty decent! For a 20 ounce drink it's about $5 or so, which is really decent compared to most places. Their coffee menu is pretty standard. They have all the basic coffees and teas and some fancier drinks such as a White Mocha, Mocha, and Caramel. I usually order half the sweetness in my drinks with nonfat milk and my drinks always turn out amazing. The Food: 5/5 I have never had a quiche until I came here and boy have I been missing out! Their quiche is about $5.50 and they have different options such as Canadian Bacon, Spinach, etc. I ordered the Canadian Bacon Quiche and it was so tasty! Every bite was flavorful and moist. They also have salsa to go with the quiche! They also have bagels, scones, brownies, cookies, etc. I haven't tried those yet, but I will soon! The Staff: 5/5 Everyone that works there is so sweet and kind. I always have a hard time deciding what to order, but the staff patiently waits until I'm ready. Sparks is not where I would choose to go for good coffee. Nothing against Sparks, it's just a Starbucks wasteland for the most part. That said, I was so happy to find Lighthouse, with super fast, kind service that has that indie coffeehouse vibe in spades. They use excellent beans, and the staff makes super good drinks. My espresso had no bitterness, and the milk was steamed perfectly. If it were in Reno, it'd be among the best coffeehouses in Reno, but being in Sparks, it's far and away the best coffee in Sparks. read more

I am so happy I found this place. We come to Reno every couple months for fun from the Nevada City area and if you know anything about it, there are many great coffee places. Sadly when we come to Reno and Sparks, good coffee can be tough to find. It's nice to have found a place that has kombucha, coconut milk, gluten free baked goods and a chill atmosphere. Lighthouse coffee has it brewing great all the time. Never a negative experience. I usually order the same coffee, with occasional switch to chai tea latte. Recently tried the gingerbread chai tea latte. It was heaven. The bagels a toasted lightly with a take home cream cheese container. I think they get their bagels and assorted bakery items from the Rounds Bakery. This location has a drive thru. They are always friendly. Lighthouse coffee has three other locations: one at the Sparks Marina, one in Reno near Longley Lane, and one inside the Reinisaince Hotel. My kids and I happened upon this place today as we also discovered the Sparks Marina on our drive around town to try new things. We parked over by the gazebo area and decided to walk over to see if they rented boats. We noticed an area with shops and found Lighthouse Coffee! It is a nicely appointed space with a comfy leather couch and other seats inside as well as a covered area with tables and chairs outside. There were two women behind the bar and they were both so lovely! Super sweet, chatty and fun! We ordered two Chai shakes and a vanilla cream shake. I literally had just enough cash on me to pay and apologized for not having enough money to tip (which I will rectify next time we come back!) to which turned into a funny exchange with myself and the woman behind the bar. Lol! It didn't take long to get our beverages as my kids lounged on the comfy couch. I asked about rentals and they actually had some brochures about it which was awesome! Decided to bike the path from South Reno to Sparks. Decided to stop for a snack and coffee before making the return trip and I'm so glad I did! This place has a great selection of drinks, pastries, and savory breakfast items. I had a Gibraltar with coconut milk that was perfection-more coffee and less milk than a cappuccino. It may be my new fav drink. Also indulged in an almond-coconut scone. Tender and not overly sweet-the perfect complement to my Gibraltar. The barista was super knowledgeable as well, so it was fun to hear him explain differences between drinks and roasting techniques. read more

Lighthouse Coffee is a nice place to grab a bite after working up an appetite on the Marina! We were going to a nice walk around the Marina and came across this place. It was a nice place to hang out for a bit to rest our tired feet. After a lap or two around the Marina we grab some coffee and hot coco because it was a chilly day. It was sunny out but you know how that awesome Reno/Sparks weather is. It was still on the cool side. So it was a nice place to grab a warm cup of coffee and hot coco. Their prices were fair and it's not more than what you would pay for at any other coffee joint. I always try a coffee that is black, no sugar and no cream. Just the coffee black. Just to see if it would be any good because coffee should taste good by itself. This is my way of gauging weather I'm going to come back here again for coffee and I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't half bad. The hot coco wasn't bad either and the drinks came to us is a fair amount of time. I also looked at the menu and they have other items like fish on there. I'm going to have to try it some other time. I'm pretty excited about it because I ask one of the cashiers where they got the fish from and she mentioned something about the owner having a fishing boat in Alaska. I am going to have to try this place out. I come from the Philippines and we have some good fish there too. So, I hope the next time I come they will have a good Salon or Cod ready for me haha. This is a great spot on the Sparks Marina path! I had the Iced Coconut Vanilla Latte! Yum! I loved the strong coconut flavor. I also had a sip of my husband's Cloud 9 Cold Brew. Good stuff! They also have a bunch of gluten free treats. We had the banana bread and blueberry coffee cake. The blueberry coffee cake was delicious! I really want to try the GF brownie! Lighthouse #2. Located at the sparks marina, it is below Anchors bar and grill. Same awesome fresh roasted coffee. Same delicious breakfast treats,bagels,donuts,quiche,and breakfast sandwiches. What is different is the location. What a beautiful set up. A fenced in patio that is shaded on the hot days. The view is awesome, looking at the marina and off in the distance is Mt Rose. The inside is very cozy with quite a bit of room to sit a chat. Todd's daughter Hannah is running this shop and doing an excellent job. Her enthusiasm and love for the job and her passion to serve the best quality coffee spills over on to every customer. Whether you are a first timer, or a regular,you are greeted like you are family. Not only do they make coffee, but they make delicious smoothies, iced coffee, and teas. This is a perfect spot to take fido for a walk, after the walk grab a chair on the patio and take in the beautiful Nevada view. They even have hitching hooks for leashes so your dog won't run away.
