This spot is such a vibe! Completely vegan and so many options for food, teas, coffee - it really checks off all your brekkie brunchy checklists. We were able to find street parking nearby and it was free for our Sunday visit! The inside is decorated very hippy dippy with local artists works displayed throughout. It's a small spot that packs a punch. Some seating for 2 mostly and a few tables were set up for 4. The major bar area is where the food and drinks are ordered and then they come and deliver it to you wherever you self seat. We ordered their mega açaí bowl, the hummus wrap, and tried their vegan pastelillos. My wife got their iced guava kava and I got their chai masala in oat milk. Everything came out as it was made and it was delicious! We both reallly enjoyed the açaí bowl and our drinks. The service was awesome and super helpful explaining all of the different things on the menu that we were unfamiliar with. We grabbed a chickpea brownie on our way out and looking forward to more visits! read more

My mom and I absolutely love coming here, it's our favorite spot to hang out in the city. I can't say enough good things! The vibe? Impeccable. Location? Great. Staff and service? Delightful. Food and drinks? Delectable. Seriously I cannot recommend Lightbox enough! It's a place that we feel good about dining at and giving money to, which is so important. Everything is delicious, fresh and healthy! I think even if you aren't vegan you will find something to love here!!! It's the perfect spot to just chill, do some work, or chat with a friend, and they even have things to do like a tarot deck and various games to play (we had a blast with the music lovers trivia.) And seriously, the menu is amazing! I personally am a fan of the sweet treats, especially the bliss balls, but I can't wait to try literally everything offered. I wanted to like this place but the vibes were so bad. My friend ordered an iced latte which took a few mins to come out, but it was watery and warm..? It actually tasted like a day old melted iced latte not gonna lie it was gross. It also took at least 45 mins to get our food orders (avocado toast, pastelillos and a wrap), but there was no one in the cafe when we ordered. It looked like they were using an air fryer to heat the food up. Someone came in after we did and said they were waiting for a sandwich from their online order, and they were still waiting when we finally left after getting our food. The wrap tasted awful, and the pastelillos were frozen in the middle. Avocado toast wasn't bad. We spent almost $60 total on everything which is honestly the worst part about all of it. From the moment we walked through the door of the colorful, cozy space, we felt a genuine sense of warmth and welcoming from the owners. We seated ourselves in one of the corner window cubbies, and co-owner Jen came right over to personally welcome us and suggest menu items. I ordered the breakfast scramble, and the roll, scramble, and especially the little crispy potatoes that come on the side were so filling and delicious. My best friend ordered an avocado toast and enjoyed it equally; and we both sipped on warm golden milk kava. I even bought a to-go double apple cider kava as a gift for my neighbor. Lightbox is a plant-based cafe that provides its customers with healthy, filling options; a booze-free environment and alternative to bar culture; and an authentic sense of community.
