My technician Jesse over at The Cheap Squad spent many hours across 4 sessions to get it fixed. On top of all that, he even mentioned that if he wasn't able to get it fixed, they would refund me out of good faith. My issue required a full motherboard replacement so we weren't able to proceed with any fixes. Regardless, I am grateful to the expertise and support Ray has given me for the laptop. I told him to do his best to save my data. The next day he texted me with a quote and said that he would be able to fix it and save my data. I told him to fix it. About 3 hours later he texted me again and said to come on by and pick it up. Now when I arrived he didn't just give me my computer and send me on my way, he sat me down and explained that I have 3 different options to save my data just in case the hard drive or computer crashes in the future. He also said that if I'm not sure how to back up the hard drive or need help with anything to call him and he would walk me through it. We called several repair shops, and this was the only one that told us the evaluation was free, so we drove a long way to bring it in. They told us they would open the computer and inspect it, but instead they powered it on immediately and left it closed. The next day, it was obvious they had not opened or inspected it at all. Then suddenly they wanted $99 just to open the back and take a look inside, which was completely different from what we had been told before. Without even opening the computer, they insisted that it would never work again and tried to sell us another laptop. The whole experience felt dishonest and honestly felt like a scam. We wasted two days driving back and forth and lost valuable time when we could have left the laptop open at home to let the moisture evaporate. The way they handled it made us feel as though they wanted the laptop to get worse so they could charge us to repair it.

I needed my home networking ethernet ports identified and fixed for my mesh WiFI backhaul (some of the terminations didn't work), as well as organized and label cables. In addition, Garry was transparent and upfront - I thought I had Cat5e wiring to make use of the 1Gbps, but turns out I only had Cat5. Garry let me know and asked me if I wanted to continue doing the job, but gave me the option to not continue if this wasn't expected. I appreciate the transparency and honesty of contractors, so this was a huge plus. Also, Garry is just a super nice and friendly being. Gary confirmed that the problem was a dead CPU fan. I thought the estimate for parts and labor was fair and approved the repair, and the final cost did match the quote given to me. I used you in the past but the location on McGlincy was out of the way. Now I am happy you are in the Downtown Campbell area . I will be happy to update my review after the diagnostic and even if I don't have it repaired I will work with you and hope to find a good laptop with all my specifications. Remember you should always have a phone number of a reputable repair shop that has remote service available. My Nintendo Pro Controller NFC reader (for amiibo) stopped working and Nintendo basically told me…read morethey wouldn't fix it. I really do not want to treat electronics like they are disposable so I searched for a local repair on yelp and found ClickAway. Pros: They responded to my query right away (I sent my request after close and they got back to me asap the following day) They were polite and professional and asked me to bring it in for a free diagnostic so they could see exactly what it needed and if they could fix it. They had a 24 hour turn around, which they stuck to. Cons: They were not able to fix it, because Nintendo just isn't making the part available. (not taking a star off for that, cause that's on Nintendo) The ADA spot in the lot is on the the opposite side of the building from the entrance, The only reason I am not taking a star off for that is the way the closest spots are aligned in a steep stagger, it still leaves room to wrangle mobility aids in and out of the vehicle. It would be nice if one of them was reserved for ADA, because the building is long and the walk from the ADA spot to the front door is a bit of a haul if you are walker-ing or walking with a cane. Over all the crew was really professional and helpful, and I plan on taking my other tech issues to them in the future. HIGHLY recommend them. One tip though, Google Maps is not giving accurate instructions (at the time of this review) on how to get to them. They are going to try and make you make the world's dumbest u-turn, so for reference, it's across latimer from the KFC on winchester, and the lot entrance is to the left of the building as you face it from winchester, it's small and easy to miss, so be careful.
