A year ago Lawson did an energy audit in my house , which was very informative. I knew my HVAC…read moreducts were leaky so I hired them to seal them with Aeroseal , which is an aerated glue which plugs the gaps in ducts.... This process is very safe once the polymer cures, but you do not want it to dry in your lungs which happened to me because they did not plug the registers properly. It has been a year and I still have breathing problems and use inhalers regularly. In my opinion Lawson did not train their workers properly to work on HVAC systems . Another big problem was that the one air suction filter box they used was too small for my 2800 ft house. In conclusion i made a HUGE mistake in hiring them ....

I asked the office what was covered for free per the website, and this was the response: "To clarify, while we do offer free estimates, the $179.00 service fee was disclosed during our initial phone conversation. You had the option to decline the service at that time if you did not agree to the charge. Additionally, had our technician identified any further issues with your system during the visit, a free estimate for that specific repair work would have been provided then." I must have misunderstood during the original call, but beware that free isn't free. Also, the tech called at 915, told me he would arrive between 1015 and 1030 and got there around 1115, outside of my 9-11 service window.

Okay, I guess, what do I know. A while later, they came down and said all done, everything looks good. I paid them and they left. Later in the evening we discovered that they left our attic access panel a filthy mess! I was very upset about this and should have called but never did. The fee was acceptable and paying was easy with Venmo, Cash App and PayPal. We talked liked neighbors for about 30 minutes when he was done fixing it, as he regaled me with colorful mower stories which convinced me he knows his business. Mower runs great so far. So I was happy with the end result. Jim has a unique business edge. He makes house calls. This is a big deal when your mower won't run and you have no way to get your rig to his shop. If I was running his business, I would push this advantage. At first, I had called a backyard mechanic but had to find a way to get my tractor to his house. That was a deal breaker. Then I called Earl's Place and put that worry to rest. The key, however, is patience and acceptance of some odd business practices (in my opinion). I called his number and got his voice mail which said to call the office number. I called and the woman at the other end said to text him as that's how he prefers to communicate. I texted and he texted back quick enough. But business by text?! Next, he showed up when he said he would to diagnose, then said he had to order parts and said he will see me the following week. Three weeks went by and I finally called him. He said I was on the schedule for that day or next. He showed up ahead of schedule and fixed the problem with a quickness. But I would have been more at ease if he had called or texted with an update in those 3 weeks I waited to hear from him. I would def recommend Jim and will call him again if I have a problem. Have faith in your fellow man, have some patience, and see what Jim can do for you. I trust him.
