Last year I wrote my first review for this place and it was also my first tattoo ever! Now just over a year later I'm on tattoo #7 and these guys have tatted ALL of them for me! Special shoutout to my fav artist here though Charlie as he's done 3 of my 7 tattoos for me.... Love this place so much as well as they are amazing w/customer service and just the vibes are so chill. I design all my tattoos and purposely want them all connected to each other/touching.... these guys always make sure that they come out as pictured! All 7 of my tattoos have been walk-ins and I love this place so much I've since gotten my dad and my fiancé to get tattoos here with me! This shop was super cool! My friend and I chose to walk in on my 27th birthday as we were in town from DFW. While the place was somewhat busy, they had us in to get tattooed by Joe in about only 20 minutes! Joe was so kind and friendly! We enjoyed talking with him while he tattooed us. I've had two tattoos done by Kirk, and he is great! Both were done to honor my wife who died in April 2019. I'm a pretty stoic person but the first one was done not long after my wife died, and I lost in when I saw what a good job Kirk did replicating her handwriting. It's perfect. Her memorial service was one month after she died, and the tattoo had mostly healed. It meant so much to her sister and to me to have a part of her there. Thanks, Kirk. Can't believe I have not written a review for this place but it is such an awesome shop! I first went to Lifetime in April of 2019 as a walk-in and got tattooed by Nick Paine when he was still tattooing there. I wanted a snake and he convinced me to go bigger on it, which I am so happy I did because it turned out so sick. I moved to Aurora in June of 2020, and came back August of 2020. I made an appointment with a friend, and I got Charlie Wright. I showed him a reference picture and that I wanted a beer mug, and he knocked it out of the park! I came back this past weekend on January 17, 2021 to work with Charlie again. I mentioned wanting a grim reaper and a filler, which he suggested a mushroom. At first I had to think about it, but I love the mushroom filler. Overall, I have always had awesome experiences at Lifetime, and it is evident that they have a great deal of love and passion for anything and everything American traditional. I feel like I learn something new each time I come in. I highly recommend anyone looking for some solid American traditional work in the area to check this place out. After having a great experience here last summer my partner and I decided to stop in again since we are in Denver for the week and wanted to get some work done. We were greeted by Sasha who was very inviting and allowed us to take our time to solidify what exactly we wanted to get done. Then the best part of it all was being introduced to Little Joe who would end up giving us 5 tattoos in total. He was extremely friendly and patient with our questions and made us feel welcome. The process was very stress free and his work is top notch. He made sure to get the tattoos exactly how we wanted them and provided us with positive energy. Truly an amazing artist and all around great guy! This experience has solidified our loyalty to this shop and we are both so happy that fate allowed us to get paired up with Little Joe. Oof.. my friend and I walked in for some tattoos and immediately the vibes felt off. Did not feel very welcomed or wanted in the shop. My tattoo was a very simple ant design and I requested black and grey with potential pop of color because that matches the current aesthetic of the tattoos I have. The artist who ended up doing my tattoo offered to add color in the ants eye but said he would only recommend red or green because I have dark skin and yellow orange or certain other colors wouldn't really show (should be noted that I have tattoos with yellow orange blue purple etc and they've all shown just fine on my skin tone- tanned white Person, not that it should matter). The second he started tattooing me it was incredibly painful and I could tell that he was super heavy handed! I typically sleep during tattoos and have them all over my body so I am familiar with the pain level in general and this placement. He made a joke along the lines of "now you remember what it feels like" because he must have noticed I was uncomfortable. The tattoo bled like a son of a gun while he was doing it and I am known by my artists back home for not bleeding much at all. The following three days my tattoo site was swollen red and hot to the touch. I am very familiar with aftercare on my tattoos and how my body heals, it was obvious that this tattoo was highly overworked as the scabbing is incredibly deep nearly two weeks later and in the spots where the scabs have fallen off there is another filmy layer with discoloration and blowout. A messed up flash tattoo is not the end of the world for someone like me, I am fairly easy going and will just have one of my regular artists fix it a few months down the road. The upsetting part is that my friend and I are both very nice cooperative people, we tip well and we're very patient and friendly. I feel like the attitudes of most of the people we encountered in the shop, including the girl who did our paperwork was either unfriendly or condescending and the quality of tattoo I got was not even par with some of the ones I've given myself. I felt like I was an inconvenience to most of the staff (except, surprisingly, the person who gave me the tattoo-though he did say some weird shit). As a member of the artistic community and a person who works in an artistic field I am incredibly let down by my experience and the lack of care my friend and I were shown. read more

I was a walk-in appointment and waited about an hour and a half to get seen, which I thought was fairly reasonable considering I was a walk-in. My artist was Joseph, and he was so awesome. I went in for an impromptu tattoo after visiting the Voodoo Doughnuts place next door. I came in and rly admired the decor and the staff were really nice and funny and welcoming. I asked for a small yin yang tattoo a little bit bigger than a quarter on my wrist. After stenciling and stuff he checked to see how it would morph as I moved my wrist which I appreciated. He asked if it was my first and he said yes and then he began however he kept stopping to talk to my friends I brought with me about doughnuts. Once he was done he immediately wrapped it up (didn't ask if I liked it or to look at it) and then asked for a doughnut we joked about earlier and then proceeded to not give me ANY aftercare instructions and then had me get change next door because he didn't have any. The tattoo itself is.. okay. It might not have come out the best partially bc of my lack of knowledge on aftercare, (I went online to read up) the circles within the yin yang are disproportionate and it's more of an oval than a circle, also the ink is like bleeding out of one of the lines All in all I am pretty happy with my tattoo. My friend and I were first time travelers to Denver and we decided to get some tattoos, and it ended up being the perfect little souvenir to remember Denver by. We decided on a tattoo parlor at 8pm by Yelping and found that this place had great reviews and they were one of the few tattoo parlors still open. Since we were walk-in clients, we had to wait about 2 hours. We almost gave up since we were so tired and it was getting late, but we decided to stick it out. I went first and I showed the tattoo artist the Sequoia tree I wanted and he drew it up fairly quickly and he only had to make one adjustment to it (a tad bit larger). The tattoo artist made me feel comfortable and kept the conversation light and fun. It was my first time getting a colored tattoo so I was slightly nervous about that. I have 3 other tattoos and this was probably the least painful out of all of them. When he finished the tattoo and revealed it to me, I was in love! It was exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier. My friend went with another tattoo artist and she needed help with the design. She wanted a blue moon, but didn't want it to look like a bruise, so she decided to get with a crescent blue moon. Her tattoo artist seemed tired and not enthusiastic and was giving her designs that she never asked for (a girl incorporated into the moon). He convinced her to do an ombre blue within the crescent moon and my friend was happy with that. We both had different experiences with our artists, but overall they were both accommodating and professional and did a great job with the product. I wish I remembered the tattoo artist names. As far as price goes, it was pretty reasonable. They have a sign in the shop saying that all tattoos start at $80. My friend's tattoo was $80, and mine came out to $100, which I was surprised by because mine was much larger than my friends with more color, but I couldn't complain! read more

I hadn't really put much thought into exactly what I wanted to get to cover it with. When I walked into Lifetime to browse some of the artists books, I was instantly helped buy a man who was later my artist. I believe his name is Dave or Dan. Either way, he took a peek at the tattoo and let me know the best possible options for a cover would be. He suggested a koi fish with water flowing underneath it. I was sold on the idea because koi fish are very beautiful, especially in tattoo form. The tattoo was virtually painless the whole time I was on the table. It didn't really start to hurt until towards the last 15 minutes of the tattoo. He was super friendly and he did an absolutely amazing job. I love the way the tattoo cover up went and now I'm not embarrassed to wear anything exposing my left shoulder blade. I would recommend giving this tattoo shop a try. If you're looking for a walk-in tattoo and you're not from Denver, this is not the place for you. Came here for a walk in while I was in town prior to moving to Denver because it had good yelp reviews. Boy was that a mistake. The artist treated me poorly after telling him I was moving to Denver in a couple of months. He clearly didn't want any non-natives in his chair or anyone new moving to Denver. Had to go back in about 6 months after moving here for a scheduled touch up because my tattoo was extremely scarred up and 75% of the ink was lost due to the artist (Kirk) having a heavy hand and going over the same solid black spot 10+ times. He said he "wanted to be sure it was black enough" since I was coming from out of state and wouldn't be back until I moved. When I showed up for the scheduled appointment touch up, the artist wasn't there. Turned out he stood me up because he had family in town and didn't care to notify me about it. Since the artist ghosted me, I waited about an hour for someone else to do the touch up because all the employees decided to ignore me and hide out upstairs and then go out all together for a smoke break while I was left sitting there alone, unacknowledged. Not that it was really their fault, because they had no idea their coworker was going to stand me up, but once they realized the artist wasn't showing up they didn't even want to try to help me out until I begged for someone else to come down and help. Go somewhere else if you can, these baffoons are not worth your time or energy, and they'll probably fuck up the tattoo anyways. On top of that, I was told the scarring was my fault because of the way I cared for it, but I only cared for it the way the artist told me to and the scarring was really from the poor technique by the artist. I'm not a professional but I wouldn't think you should tattoo over the same 2 inch spot with a thick needle 10+ times. Once the tattoo was touched up by the other artist who only went over it maybe twice, the tattoo healed 100% fine which leads me to know the first artist truly messed up just because I wasn't from Colorado and he must've not believed me that I would be back in a couple months. Pretty shitty on their part, and I'm not happy about it. I won't ever recommend this place to anyone unless they're looking for a scar tissue pile of crap tattoo. And if you do find yourself in here, avoid Kirk at all costs. read more

I've been working with Graham to get my sleeve done and it's been a great experience. Graham's got a great eye and I trust his judgment when it comes to sizing and placement. I get so many compliments on the tattoos Graham's done for me. Beyond his talent, Graham is approachable and courteous, and I always feel like he's genuinely excited to work on my ideas. There is hardly the right way to express how bad the tattoos we got here have turned out. They are from the boss who's tattoo room is in the very back.
