Was in denver for a few days with one of my oldest friends. We climbed up to devils playground the day before and decided to get semi matching tattoos to remember our awesome trip. My friend and I came in as walk-ins and we were immediately greeted by Aubree, who was super kind and helpful. They gave us the information we wanted upfront (price, pain, etc.). My friend got her second lobe piercings; I got my helix pierced and my rook changed from a curved barbell to a hoop. The two lobe piercings were $80 and the helix was $50 (before tip); jewelry change was free of charge! I couldn't be happier about that, especially when some places charge jewelry changes by the piercing. Titanium grade jewelry was included in the cost of the piercings. They were so sweet when my friend was nervous about the pain and very flexible when we changed the placement on the lobes a couple times. My rook change was super quick and barely uncomfortable, which I was super impressed by as the rook is a fairly tricky location. Aubree also made the helix piercing nearly painless-- they're very skilled at what they do and I cannot say enough good things. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my experience here. The pricing is fair, the piercing jewelry is adorable, and Aubree is just awesome! I would definitely recommend getting pierced here if you're in Denver. read more

Really great service! I called ahead as I need 3 piercings repierced. Aubree took her time and checked all my piercings and to my surprise 2/3 were still there. She put in some jewelry for those two and pieced the last one! It was $50 for each "poke" (actual piercing), $10 for the jewelry replacement and $15 for saline solution. Not bad at all! This is by far the worst tattoo I have Ever received. I had a small black heart the size of a quarter and A to Phoenix to cover it up. Brought in a picture of and it looks nothing like a Phoenix much less like the picture. I went back a second time to have them redo it and he left half of the tot to Uncolored. If I had my way they would do a total redo for free considering how bad it is. I'm currently considering having my back touched up and am terrified of what I would wind up with. Even the tattoo artists back home in North Dakota are a 1000 times better than this. I do not recommend this place. And if I were them I would do a free tattoo to fix their mistake. I stuck with this the rest of my life. I got was supposed to be a symbol of rebirth from a horrible past. read more

Piercer review only... My wife and I went there to get 1 piercing each... And I wish I never had. My lip swelled (like she knew it would and told me so) and come to find out she gave me the wrong sized labret jewelery to provide enough space for the swelling... It was way too small. Then my wife called the next day to tell her not only was the jewelery so tight on my lip and it then went into my pierced hole, but it started getting infected. That I had to keep pushing it through all day while I was at work to make sure it didnt close on me. My wife also told her that I didnt get off from work until 5, so we would be there before 6. She said that was fine and that she'll be there to switch my jewelery. She never apologized at all. Then we showed up before 6 pm and the shop was closed. So I had to go around searching for a proper sized jewelery piece to have my wife put it in for me. If I could rate them a negative 5 stars, I so would. I have gotten plenty of piercings and I have never dealt with someone who is so incompetent at doing their job. Then doesn't provide an apology nor was there to fix the problem that she caused. I will NEVER go there again and I will make sure that I will tell everyone I know NOT to go there!!! It was just so wrong all the way around. I paid my hard earned money and gave her such a great tip on top of it... only to be so extremely upset that she was so unprofessional and I was very unsatisfied. You go in to get a piercing... you're supposed to be happy that you got it. Not having to deal with the jewelery going into your lip and falling out because the Piercer doesn't know how to do her job. read more

My sister was in town, all the way from Alabama and while showing her downtown Denver we walked by Fortune Cookie Tattoo and figured it would rock to get a tattoo in order to remember her visit. As soon as we walked it, the artist said hello and asked if she could help us. After she explained where the portfolios of all the artist in the shop were, we began searching through a ton of tattoo magazines and books around the shop but failing to find a design we could agree on,we noticed the time we almost decided it was too late to ask..... The artist (Amanda Gold) was completely awesome and and said it was not a problem and sat down and sketched out exactly what we each wanted. Holy moly, this review is so long overdue, but better late than never! I came here in April of this year to get a very inappropriate and vulgar word that I had tattooed on my upper back covered up before moving to LA. I had this tattoo done a few years ago with a friend as a drunken dare and, though it got me a lot of high fives, I realized that I was moving to a city/state where I would be wearing a lot of tank tops and also that my mother lived in this same city and had not yet seen this "statement" I had permanently stamped on my back (Hint: it puts the "female dog" word to shame and rhymes with "punt"). ANYWAYS I came to this realization that I should have it covered up a mere 48 hours before departing on my move and remembered I had bought a Groupon for this place and failed to use it in time. So I desperately walked into Lucky Fortune around 3 PM to see if they would at least honor what the Groupon was worth and hopefully try and fit me in on such short notice. I was greeted by Dan, and sensing my desperation (I assume) he took pity on me and took my phone number saying he would see what he could do and let me know. 2 hours later I received a text from him saying he would do the cover-up for me if I could make it in by 8 that night. After a very late night tattoo sesh and a ton of helpful input from him (I had put virtually NO thought into what I wanted done) Dan transformed my shameful, vulgar tattoo into a beautiful, vibrant lotus flower that I am now proud to show off. I later realized how symbolic this was when I did some research into my new tattoo (which is completely ass-backwards from how you're supposed to do it, I know) and read that this lovely flower--like my tattoo--blossoms from the ickiest darkest muck in the bottom of slimy ponds into this gorgeous, stunning creation. It also represents rebirth and growth in Buddhism, which is why I chose it in the first place, and in that sense, could not have been a better choice to precede my move and the beginning of the next chapter of my life...dare I say, fate? I was kind of out of it after we finished that night and am not sure if I fully expressed my gratitude to Dan for all of his help, but I hope this review does that. It was a wonderful and comfortable experience/environment, the music was great, the artwork in there is amazing and I will definitely be back for more work whenever I'm out that way...maybe this time with a little more thought put in, but with my last experience turning out so well, who knows ;) Thank you, thank you, thank you. read more

One of my friends has her tattoos all over him when I had asked who did them he said Sherly. She has a amazing energy very warm and kind of hard to describe but makes you feel like you have known her for many years. She listens very closely and can it seems like almost pluck the images straight from your head even when you can not articulate them. I came in with a idea and left with a work of art. I just got my first tattoo here at Fortune Cookie with Sherley. I did a medium size piece on my right forearm that came out incredible. Sherley's experience really shows and the design I brought to her is identical to what is now on my forearm. The atmosphere here is trendy and relaxing. Good music was playing throughout the session and I was able to chat with her and other artists. All-around a nice group. The price was good for the time of the session and quality of work. I went in randomly one day with a few very different ideas and Dan Archer helped me narrow it down until we had decided on something awesome. We made an appointment for a week later so he could draw it up and such. When I came back to get it done I was very happy with what was designed and he did an excellent job on the tattoo. Super happy with the finished product. I'd go back to him to get another one. I looked in the books of the other tattooists and their work looked really well done.
