Not only did I wait forever and there was only 2 people ahead of me... but I had a little old lady helping me who burned my 2 bagels beyond EDIBlE!!! Bagel Cafe blows this dump away.. they know what they're doing... and the portion for the tuna on the bagel was so scarce....how dare they charge outrageous prices!!! Do NOT patronize this place ... read more

Lifes A Bagel - Awful burnt bagel - Bagels Near Me - Long Beach, New York

I have been eating bagels my whole life. These bagels are A number 1! They come in many different varieties and there a lot of different spreads. I had a very nice elderly lady wait on me. She was very friendly and gave me good service. There was a line of people there. Always a good sign. The line disappeared very fast. Great place. read more

Bagels are a hit or miss - I have tried 4 times... - Sometimes undercooked - You ask double toasted and get something that looks and tastes un toasted (4 times I tried on 4 different days - see photo) - They only add butter / cc to one side so you have specifically ask / instruct them how to butter a bagel. - Service is slow read more

Lifes A Bagel - Here is my double toasted bagel. I've tried 4 times to order from this place and they still can't get a buttered toasted bagel done right. - Bagels Near Me - Long Beach, New York

Fast luncheonette style bagel-coffee-doughnut-sandwich-cookie type of stop! I enjoy the old school traditional look albeit a bit dated. Nice selection of bagels, all fresh toasted to order just the way you like! Friendly staff is quick and efficient. I got an egg bagel and a coffee and both were just right. There is seating inside but I took my food to go and hit the board walk because, hello the ocean is right there! I absolutely love the convince of the location and the value for the price. I'll be back! read more

Great sandwiches and bagels and very nice customer service. My favorite in Long Beach.

Greatest Bagel Shop! Usually a short but quickly moving line at the long established bagelry in the center of Long Beach opposite Town Hall and the Railroad Station. Recently came under new ownership when longtime owner retired. However friendly staff has stayed on so orders are filled quickly and efficiently. Also, there are no custom egg orders (except egg salad) so that doesn't slow things down at the counter. Establishment uses high quality Nova and whitefish. Try their flagels! read more

Great bagels, extremely pleasant and helpful staff. So good it seems to have become a weekly weekend stop with extra bagels picked up for the coming week as well! read more

Bagels are terrible...been there a few times thinking they couldnt be that bad...bialys were practically raw....too many other bagel places in the area to go back there read more

Amazing Bagels! Best bagels I have ever eaten in New York. Must try if you're in Long Beach. Service is great with a great staff. Location Is super busy plus it's always fresh bagels. read more

My favorite bagel shop in Long Island! Always fresh and the bagels taste absolutely delish! I also recommend some of their other baked goods! My friend and I also tried out one of their strawberry cheese pastry and it was so yummy!! read more

The most important thing to know before you go into Life's a Bagel is do I get a good bagel at a good price. And the answer is overwhelmingly yes to both. The staff is very friendly multilingual and can help anybody that comes in the shop. The food is always freshly made and handled with care. When you're looking at your sugar because it's too high try the low carb bagels. You would not know the difference between a regular bagel and the low carb that's how delicious it is. The variety of spreads they have is more than enough to choose from. I personally recommend the white fish salad and salmon salad. The only negative if you want to look at it that way the ambience is nothing special it's like eating in your kitchen but everybody that sits there is friendly and personable and you're not sitting alone. Finally the coffee is fresh all the time whether it's iced or hot. read more

I was so looking forward to having a bagel at this place, I ordered a bagel with tuna and mustard and the lady working behind the counter who is about 70 years old, splattered half the bottle of mustard on my bagel. You can definitely tell she hates her job. Also ordered an iced coffee and asked her nicely to pour some ice out since she filled it all the way to the top and she then replied "how? I already put it in" in her broken english. Why should you pay $12 for a tuna bagel and a medium size iced coffee for this kind of service and a bagel splattered with mustard. I don't recommend, never again!!! Oh I forgot to add she gave me literally one napkin just wow!!! read more

Lifes A Bagel - I asked for a bagel with tuna and mustard, not a bagel splattered with mustard and hardly any tuna!!! - Bagels Near Me - Long Beach, New York

I didn't expect my everything bagel to be as good as it was: chewy on the outside, soft on the inside, just the right size, and perfectly fresh. The scallion cream cheese was slathered on generously and the tomato was fresh, ripe, tasty, and more than just your typical sliver. Price was super reasonable and I enjoyed my sandwich perfection. read more

I placed a very large order of bagels and spreads for a work function ahead of time and picked them up this morning. The location of this place is prime, so I was thrilled to get a spot right out front! It was packed inside, but my order was ready on time and done perfectly. My only issue was that the woman behind the counter was having trouble with my credit card - it has a chip in it and she continually swiped and swiped and swiped it before turning around and announcing loudly to the entire room that my card was 'declined'. I was forced to use my personal debit card because she didn't know how to use the chip reader which is going to make my reimbursement for work a nightmare. That all being said, the bagels were excellent and I would definitely recommend stopping by. Next time, I'll just bring cash!! read more

I moved in about 2 blocks away across the street about 5 years ago....and discovered to my delight that not only does Life's A Bagel serve bagels but they serve flagels (flat bagels) as well! The flavor on the bagels is delicious and the texture is perfect - soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside (no toasting needed). The selection of flavored cream cheeses is also exceptional. The staff is very nice and very quick, but I do recommend watching them with the cream cheese as I've received the wrong flavor a few times (there are many to choose from, honest mistake). Two cons to this place: the ambience (not comfortable to sit and eat) and the hours - since they open at 5am, they close at 3pm.... wake up early, get some bagels..definitely worth it :) read more

Bagels are small and barely cooked. There is no grill just cream cheese and butter options. No eggs. Would not go back. read more

Lifes A Bagel - Is this suppose to be a mini bagel? - Bagels Near Me - Long Beach, New York

The bagels were great. That being said - the rest of the experience was not. Service was painfully slow and incompetent, and then I was overcharged. Due to the extremely slow service, I had to run out to catch a train and didn't realize I got charged for 3 sandwiches instead of 2 until too late. Might still go back, but only when I have plenty of time to kill - so I won't mind waiting forever for a simple order, and so that I have time to check my receipt. Again, the bagels were excellent - really hoping they improve on their service speed and competence. read more

This place has the worst tasting bagels & coffee in Long Beach. I've eaten bagels all over NY for 32 years of my life. I walk past this place every morning on my walk to the train and smell the bagels being made and wish that I had a decent place to grab a cup of coffee on my walk to the train. I wouldn't drink or eat from this establishment if it was given for me for free. They also have zero urgency considering how close to the train it is! read more

I just moved to Long Beach & I'm trying to find my new neighborhood bagel place. Well this is not the place. The bagels have no flavor & almost no seasoning. I paid extra for jelly & there was hardly a smear on the bagel. The staff wasn't all that friendly or quick to help either. read more

Glad to be 1st review here. With bagels I don't mess around. Let's get down to bizziness. Bagel = 4 out of 5 stars Ambience = 0 out of 5 stars Whitefish Salad = 4.05 out of 5 stars Staff = whatever I love this place!!! Can't you tell? But I do. It's right in the heart of town. It's a good alternative to a more popular store on the East End; bagels are rather good. And the price always seems agreeable. Great place to know about. read more

Life's a Bagel It's more like life's a bitch. I get to the bagel shop to buy a few bagels for mom and my wife and when I get to the counter the lady points out that they do not accept debit or credit unless you spend a minimum of $10. What a poor way of running a business. The lady who served me wasn't pleasant either. It was actually a blessing because down the road about 1.3 miles was Long Beach Bagel Café and this place has everything and I mean everything for breakfast and lunch. They make many of the items in-house. I was very impressed! Oh, and their bagels were awesome! Life's a Bagel never again! read more

Honest review: The bagels are above average (Murray's in West Village is way better), the hot coffee is always super-watery (I've never had the iced) but the staff is always friendly and very efficient, especially in the summer when the city LIRR folk crowd in here en route to the beach. This food is worth getting, but know that it's a bit pricey (kosher) and they ONLY take cash. At least they round down if your total is a few cents over a dollar. So, there's that. For better or worse, the best bagels in Long Beach, in my opinion. read more

This place offers a wide variety of bagels and cream cheeses. Plenty of homemade pastries and cookies. Hot coffee and tea. I love that they have mini bagels in a variety of flavors. The OLIVE cream cheese is my absolute favorite. I have tried it in many places around town and this is by far the best and freshest cream cheese. I would recommend this place for those that just want bagels. No grill no sandwiches or meals served here, it's strictly kosher!!! read more

Love their mini bagels, just the perfect size for a quick breakfast. The bagels and cream cheese are always consistently good. The service is super friendly and usually pretty fast. However, there is one woman who consistently screws up the order. She'll repeat it back to you twice, then go somehow screw it up. I've talked to several locals about this and everyone goes "I know exactly who you are talking about". Cut the fat. read more

Interesting, they have people eating {without masks obviously } a few feet from the insanely long order line. How does that make sense? So much for reopening with guidelines. Next , the wait for bagels is long, not because they are so delicious ( as they are not} but because they are disorganized. Their Bagels are about one notch up from Lenders Frozen Bagels found at your nearest supermarket. read more

Just move along. Don't stop. Bagels are small and thin and quite frankly didn't even seem fresh for a Saturday morning. No fluffiness about them, which is the sure sign of a great bagel. They don't make eggs or bacon or any of that, so all you are getting is a buttered bagel or with cream cheese (which is odd to me). Iced coffee was mediocre at best. With all the nearby delis and bagel shops, I would not return. read more

Every time I go to this bagel store they always give me the wrong bagel, I tell them "I want a bagel dug out with cream cheese don't toast it'' they go ahead and toast the dug out bagel and it makes it all melted and disgusting. I remembered asking them for a sesame seed bagel toasted with butter but instead they didn't pay attention by putting cream cheese in it after they toasted my bagel. This bagel store is the is hanging on by a thread East End Bagel Store is always on point. read more

I stopped here for some breakfast at 7:45 on a Sunday morning. I'm not from the area , but my son had a ice hockey game at the nearby rink. Well I was shocked to find out this bagel store doesn't sell eggs or bacon. Butter or cream cheese... that's it ?!? I got a cinnamon raisin bagel and it was average at best. Won't be returning. read more

By far the best bagel place in Long Beach. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional. The staff is incredibly friendly, they will work with any kind of complicated order you've got and are reasonably priced. They also didn't jack up their prices after Sandy hit, which was pretty awesome. Everyone should go here! Also just as an FYI, credit cards are a $10 minimum. But they do have an ATM in-house. read more

At first I thought the bagels were just ok, but then I tasted the Egg-Everything bagel. OH MY GOSH. It is so delicious. They lather on the cream cheese and the whole experience is just so delicious. My second favorite is the sesame bagel with strawberry cream cheese. The staff is really friendly, fast, and can handle large orders when your picking up for friends. The iced coffee is pretty good too, just make sure you watch how much sugar they put in. It's also right next to the Long Beach LIRR stop, so for commuters it's awesome! read more

I love this bagel spot when I'm in a rush. They move quick and most times the line isn't that bad but the bagels are a hit or miss. Sometimes the bagels are a little hard and that's on a Sunday morning at 8am :/ when they should be fresh. I always order whole wheat mini bagel with butter not toasted. I like to taste my bagel at its finest. It's a convenient location so I keep coming back....... Try it for yourself. read more

Skip it. There's plenty of other places around to get a bagel from. Nothing special about their bagels. " We don't do eggs". Rude.

Solid 3-stars for a Long Beach institution. After getting off the train from Penn Station, I don't walk out to the beach at Long Beach without a bagel sandwich from this place. It's not fancy, it's usually chaotic, the patrons - in a stampede, all coming from the same train - can be seriously annoying, and the bagels aren't top-quality amazing by city standards. But the bagels are just plain good, their egg salad and tuna salad are tasty, and they have a number of cream cheese spreads, a selection of chips/pretzels and bottled beverages. That's all I need for an afternoon on the beach. read more

My bagel was great, but the service could've been better. The first guy I talked to ignored me and when I said excuse me he said, gruffly, "I'm already helping someone else." A bit rude! Anyway, the woman I placed my order with was more polite and friendly. However, she only gave me a couple very thin napkins with my bagel, and when I asked for more napkins, she said they're in the bag. I said can I have some more please? And she literally handed me like three more very thin napkins. I'm a messy eater so this irked me but other than that the bagel is pretty good. Not the best I've ever had but not bad either. read more

Good food. Not THE best bagels but good. Only Kosher bagel place I know of in Long Beach. I keep coming back. They fit a tiny space to eat outside on the Avenue, great for people watching. Inside is OK , it is a good quick enough lunch read more

Great bagel shop. Clean, fresh and always satisfies my expectations when I order here. Highly recommended.

Great small bagel place. Friendly service great bagels. Very helpful with special orders. Staff always great.

Fairly average bagels, not overly doughy or particularly large by any means. Their cream cheese's are the normal variety and fairly decent prices. Not my first choice for bagels. read more
