This just opened, or rather moved from its former location. It is located right next to the very…read morepopular Blue Butcher and a stones throw away up the little incline from the Man Mo Temple on Hollywood Road. A prior review stated that this establishment would make Buddha proud and I would agree. Raw, Vegan, Gluten Free, Buddhist Friendly and Nut Free...all menu items are listed and marked as such. We were walk-ins around 9:30PM on a Monday and I think it was busy because it had just opened. There was maybe 10 minute wait. Ambiance is nice....cement floors, inviting little bar, tall ceilings, mismatched chairs (although the chairs are shorter than the bench on the opposite side of the dining table, so you are not at eye level with your meal companion....just an observation), good lighting, white walls, light wood finishes....the place feels inviting. Staff was friendly, food was delivered quickly. My biggest observation and maybe the leading factor for my 4 Star rating were the flavors. Every item we ordered was super flavorful. Tempah, lemongrass, roti canai, white truffle oils, flax dukkah, the list could go on....every menu item is a study in world spices and flavors. It comes through in every dish. Vegan, prepared clean and flavorful. Although with a kick and what my husband liked the least, the Mushroom Tempah Rendang was my personal favorite, but let me also note that the linguine noodles were super fresh. I saw wine, but not sure of their liquor license status. Wine for sure, not sure on the other adult beverages. The staff indicated that they do serve breakfast and lunch too and I also saw a fresh cold pressed juices and smoothies menu as well. It is a bit pricey, but I think you get what you pay for. This is again vegan, prepared clean and flavorful...worth the price to me personally. If vegan is not your thing, you will most likely feel this place is expensive. For one appetizer and two entrees (no drinks, just water), it was $452HKD (10% service fee is automatically added to the bill as well). My husband states and let me quote, "This is a girl restaurant. The only reason a guy is here is because he was tricked by the girl into coming here. This is a place that a girl would come because it is super healthy and full of raw/vegan stuff. The few guys I see here are saying to themselves, I was tricked." I suppose this is why I liked it and he did not like it so much...and there were more woman here than men! HA! HA! HA!, so maybe he is right! So I will definatley go back, but it will probably be by myself or with a group of girlfriends or my one Vegan male friend.

I was thrilled to hear about this place from a local contact in Hong Kong. It was a bit of a hike…read morefrom Central station but worth the walk. We made a reservation for 6 pm and were told we would need to finish by 7:30. We arrived and were seated immediately. The interior was very quaint with a few tables on the main floor and some bar seating upstairs. There is one male and one female toilet (change table inside) with 2 sinks outside them. The dinner menu was amazing....so many choices and I was thrilled to find not too much tofu. We started with popcorn chicken, which was gf and made of mushrooms. Crispy outside, chewy inside and delicious! Then we had the dragon roll sushi made with cauliflower rice. It was very good as well. The pieces were quite huge so you could not eat it in one bite. Some people used a knife and fork and others chose to hold it in hand and take bites. Then we had the mushroom gnocchi which had me so excited. It tasted good when dipped in the white sauce, but I didn't really like the texture. I like gnocchi to be soft and kind of chewy but this was more grainy...I'm sure due to the ingredients. Still worth having. Service was quick and friendly and items came out quickly until we ordered dessert. Then I feel like we were forgotten. We ordered our dessert before the table beside us. But they were served and finished well before ours arrived (they had one same item). We ordered the profiteroles with vegan ice cream. We had to choose one of 3 flavours for all 3 profiteroles vs one flavour for each. We chose the cherry fudge which was very good. Other flavours were strawberry and green tea. The crust part was quite hard since it was gf, but yummy. The wait was a little annoying since we were told we had to be done by a certain time. This did not allow us to order more if we wanted. The price was $880HK for our meal,

It's beyond the turn off on to the family trail, but before you get to the temple. It's basically one of a small chain, the other stores in Wan Chai, Soho, and Disco Bay, selling healthy whole foods, such as qinoa, fenugreek (nope, I have no idea what this is either), kettle chips, organic pasta, Quorn, and icecreams. It's actually a reasonably priced shop, given the products are premium and imported like Quorn, and also have to come beyond "main" HK and onto an outlying island. Produce sells at a similar price to the regular shops in HK. The best bit of this store (which is only at this store and not the HK ones) is the "pseudo" cafe at the rear. It's not a coffee shop, not by a far stretch. It is more like a small seating area where you can have snacks and drinks bought in store. They even have serve yourself teas, which is essentially a cup, a teabag and a kettle, and that you make up for yourself. Remember to make purchases before you enjoy. Beyond the seating area is a small pleasantly decorated terrace overlooking the sea. On a hot day, I like to come for the real fruit lollies and hang out at the back of the shop. It's kinda pleasant to look at the sea, whilst in the AC eating ice lollies. Reminds me of Brighton Beach.

The bakery session is at the entrance that homemade baguette, sunflower bread loaf, whole wheat bread, croissant...Easily can you tell the hand crafted pastry that are not cut automatically. And the best part for me is some gluten-free options. Man, my eyes just sparkled when I saw the 'GF' label. Then the personal health care products which are mostly imported from Europe and the States. Handmade soaps, fair-trade shampoo and now the overwhelming 100% natural coconut oil. I found my German brand xxx shampoo and conditioner which I used to have in Amsterdam. Surprise. And for clean-eating people, the muesli, granola and nuts shelves are heavens. They have house label nuts and cranberries etc., packed in bags and last for a short period which still keeps the freshness. Their wine selection is from Albert Heijn from the Netherlands when I saw the back label. Haha. No wonder some familiar brands merged into my eye level. Organic beer available here. It would be brilliant if they gonna add on the Australian Goat beer ale. Walk further, they have a real cafe that serve soul food. With the terrace facing the Lamma pier, chewing some carrot cake and sip organic Chandoney from South Africa can make a perfect weekend.

Don't let my Asian cover fool you because I well, when you grow up with Scandinavian parents you just don't eat a lot of spicy food! Salt and Pepper were considered "spices"! When I found out that Handi was literally a few miles from our flat, and it came highly recommended by friends who live on a different part of the island, I told my husband we must try it out. He looked at me like I had 5 heads because I had never tried Indian food so he couldn't wait to take me there. This place is the cutest. Yes. It's so quaint and tiny. I feel like I'm in the owner's home. We chose to eat inside where there's about 5 tables from two-seaters up to 6 seats. Each table decked out in red and white checkered cloths. The menu is like a small book, with a variety of sections to choose from. It was quite plentiful. As well as several options for vegetarians too. From the first bite to the last crumb, everything was delicious! It's definitely going to be our go-to spot from now on. I think what made this meal so incredible was the combination of the home cooked feel of the food accompanied by such hospitable and wonderful service from the owner. I think he could tell we truly enjoyed our food, and he gave us their take away menu and told us they have free delivery for certain areas. Indian cravings will be fully taken care of here! Prices are reasonable. Service is quick and friendly. Bring yourself or bring the entire family, you won't be disappointed.

Highly recommend dining here for Disney fans. The dim sum buns are so cute (maybe not too much…read morefilling) but overall the food at Crystal Lotus is beautiful, tasty and very well done. The service was attentive and atmosphere is beautiful. Preorder the dim sum set (it's a very hearty meal) or order ala carte. We love Chinese food and felt the meal was very authentic. Loved the soup as it reminded me of homemade soup. Loved the special Disney touches. One pays for the special touches but totally worth it (especially comparable to other nice park restaurant), Crystal Lotus was stellar. The next time we come, we will order Ala carte to try other dishes we saw that looked amazing! Reservations avail on the HK Disney app or on Resy. Dim sum set that we had must be preordered and prepaid.

The restaurant is upscale and tranquil, a nice change from the frenzy of the park. We ordered a la carte - char siu baos, wonton noodles, crispy rice with seafood in lobster broth and the seafood laksa. I didn't try the char siu baos nor the wonton noodles since those were wolfed down by my daughter. The crispy rice with seafood was nicely done. I would pass on the seafood laksa though. It's pretty pricey though, considering what they charge inside the park, about right. Food is much better than what you find in the park.
