Highly recommend dining here for Disney fans. The dim sum buns are so cute (maybe not too much filling) but overall the food at Crystal Lotus is beautiful, tasty and very well done. The service was attentive and atmosphere is beautiful. Preorder the dim sum set (it's a very hearty meal) or order ala carte. We love Chinese food and felt the meal was very authentic. Loved the soup as it reminded me of homemade soup. Loved the special Disney touches. One pays for the special touches but totally worth it (especially comparable to other nice park restaurant), Crystal Lotus was stellar. The next time we come, we will order Ala carte to try other dishes we saw that looked amazing! Reservations avail on the HK Disney app or on Resy. Dim sum set that we had must be preordered and prepaid. read more

We made a last minute reservation for Crystal Lotus, so we were unable to order the Disney dim sum (though reading the reviews, it's probably a good thing). The restaurant is upscale and tranquil, a nice change from the frenzy of the park. We ordered a la carte - char siu baos, wonton noodles, crispy rice with seafood in lobster broth and the seafood laksa. I didn't try the char siu baos nor the wonton noodles since those were wolfed down by my daughter. The crispy rice with seafood was nicely done. I would pass on the seafood laksa though. It's pretty pricey though, considering what they charge inside the park, about right. Food is much better than what you find in the park. read more

Crystal Lotus is inside the Hong Kong Disneyland hotel and serves Disney character shaped dim sum. My husband and I booked the dim sum making class on our recent trip to HK, which includes the class and the subsequent dim sum lunch, as you can see in our photos below. We reserved it way in advance, when we booked the hotel room at HK Disney. It was 1388 HKD ~$177 for two, which includes the dim sum making class and the lunch set - see below for the menu. The dim sum making class was very simple, one of the chefs came out and demonstrated how to make a bao. You do not get to choose the character; we got to make Piglet and Eeyore, and upon arrival the ingredients (dough, roller, ink, water, etc.) is laid out for you already. After we finished the class, which started at 10:30, they told us to come back at 12 for the lunch. You get to take photos with your bao creations and they steam it for you to eat as dessert at the end of the lunch. Our fillings were red bean and salted egg yolk. The lunch itself was just okay, which we expected. The dim sum was probably the blandest of it all surprisingly. The fried rice was good, and the XO sauce they serve with the meal was not the cheapest kind either. Mickey shaped pancakes were good, nice crisp and chew albeit a tad bland. Dessert was good, I enjoyed the mango sago and pomelo, which is an iconic HK dessert. Overall, we don't regret doing it but it is expensive for what it is. One time unique Disney experience! read more

My husband and I went to Crystal Lotus twice-- once for normal dinner and another for the Disney dim sum lunch, and we loved both experiences. For dinner, we both ordered the special set meal and it was very creative with a large diversity of Cantonese dishes. I enjoyed the creativity that the fish dumpling was shaped like a koi fish and placed into a bowl, simulating a fish in a fish bowl. I also liked the beef rib, which was juicy and tender and paired well with the sauce, and also enjoyed the dried noodles in soup. For lunch, we had pre-ordered a bunch of Disney shaped buns and also added on some dim sum dumplings. The Disney shaped buns are really more for the cute aesthetic, I liked the Winnie the pooh honey bun the most. The Tigger and Piglet buns were adorable but only okay taste wise. But the non-Disney dumplings were plump and fresh, and my favorite dish was the roasted duck bun. Service was excellent and English-friendly, and the ambiance was beautiful and clean. If you're making the trip out to HK Disneyland then I'd definitely recommend stopping by at Crystal Lotus! read more

An overpriced gimmicky lunch. The food was not very good, and not served at a very warm temperature. Unfortunately, this might have been the worst tasting food I had in HK. Just because Disney makes the items look like characters, they charge $98HKD for 3 small dim-sum. For the prices charged, the food should have at least tasted better. The turnips were very much room temperature with no flavor. There was really nothing memorable about this lunch besides that it is at the Disney hotel and they make the buns look creative. I had a feeling that this was going to be a mistake, and unfortunately, I was correct. read more

As much as I really want to give this restaurant 5 stars because of the aesthetic, unfortunately that's all it really has going for it. The food was quite underwhelming with flavours and most of the Disney and friends dimsum hardly had any filling. The service was also subpar as they hardly tended to our table while paying attention to quite a few other guests... On to the good of the beauty of the dim sum and how carefully crafted it all was. My favourite was the Winnie the Pooh "hunny" bun as it looked like him and was the tastiest one out of the bunch. Olu Mel looked the most like himself out of all the characters and was very impressively put together. It's definitely an experience I don't regret as it's the most Disney like food you can get out of all the restaurants at all the resorts/parks! read more

I think you have to preorder the Disney dim sum! Crystal lotus is located in the Disneyland hotel, which is a 15 minute walk from Disneyland or you can take the shuttle. They only do the Disney dim sum for lunch with reservation online I believe. The dishes came out fast except for the dessert because they started getting behind. I think it's definitely worth it for the price. Every dish was so cute. Some were just okay taste wise but for the most part delicious and filling! The waiters introduce each dish when they bring it a little but they also leave the menu on the table. If you get to sit by the windows the view is also quite beautiful. You can see the labyrinth they have outside in the garden as well as the ocean and mountain landscape. read more

Beautiful restaurant, attentive staff, super expensive but cute Disney character dim sum. Located at Hong Kong Disneyland hotel. We saw pictures online & we just had to try it. The food was only ok, but it was a good one-time experience. You have to pre-order Disney dim sum ahead of time, it was a bit difficult but it worked out in the end. I would advise contacting them at least a week in advance because it took them several days to get back to me. read more

I was SOOOO excited when I found out Disney had a set menu for Dim Sum! I wasn't staying at the hotel but Crystal Lotus is very walkable from the theme park (about 10-15 min walk). I was initially worried about booking a reservation and not being able to get to the hotel but it's actually a very easy walk. We made a reservation about 1 week beforehand for about 1pm. They had our reservation and our table ready with an awesome view of the ocean. *Remember when you make your reservation, make sure you indicate that you want the dim sum meal otherwise, you can't order it. The lunch comes with 6 courses but with 10 items. I think the total was about $120 USD or $940HKD which I think was an excellent deal. The entire restaurant is beautifully decorated. The entire hotel is beautiful and there's a bunch of activities to do around there. As for the food: Every dish (minus the salad) had some kind of hidden Disney touch to it whether it be a hidden micky, donald duck shaped veggies or character shaped baos. Everything was delicious but my favorite item was the Beef with Donald Duck cut squash/cucumbers. The beef was so tender. I also felt a bit guilty eating the cute baos decorated as characters but they were also super delicious. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall, I highly recommend this meal as it's both unique and delicious. The service was amazing and it's easy to get to from the park. It looks really far from the park but it's actually a nice break from the heat to stop off there to rest and eat. read more

Crystal Lotus is a high-end, award-winning restaurant inside the Disneyland Hotel specializing in Chinese cuisine from four distinct regions of China: Sichuan, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong. It's important to know that getting Disney dim sum isn't as easy as just showing up at Crystal Lotus and placing an order. Because the Disney dim sum menu is so unique and intricate, it's all made-to-order. Disney dim sum is available every day but only available during lunch hours, so be sure to make a lunch reservation! Disney dim sum is available in limited quantities on weekends and public holidays but your best bet is by ordering in advance. In fact, advance order is the only way to get Disney dim sum on weekdays. *ORDER YOUR DISNEY DIM SUM IN ADVANCE* Plan to order your Disney dim sum in advance. It's required for weekday reservations and highly recommended for weekends and holidays. If you call to book your reservation, you'll be asked for your e-mail address where you'll receive a Disney dim sum order form. DISNEY DIM SUM! At Hong Kong Disneyland, the magic even extends into their food. Crystal Lotus is HK Disneyland Hotel's fine-dining, flagship restaurant specializing in Chinese cuisine. Both the hotel and the restaurant are beautifully decorated while offering stunning views. Service is exceptional to say the least. Fair warning though - this is a meal you have to plan for. You'll need to make a reservation AND preorder the dim sum when making the res. Don't say no one told you! The buns here are the cutest ones you'll ever get your hands on. They're adorable, tasty, super detailed, and there's plenty to choose from. We decided to go with the "Little Green Men" (pork + veggie), "Baymax" (shrimp), and "Three Little Pigs" (bbq pork). Not only were they delicious, but also super soft with a great filling to bun ratio. Some of my other favorites from this meal are the Star Wars baked egg custard puff and Mickey's double-layer turnip/taro pudding. When I was here in October, they also had a Halloween special called Jack's Party (shrimp dumpling, crabmeat scallop puff, mummy vegetable bun). This was like a mini dim sum trio that was crafted with tons of detail, but was obviously more of a photo op and not a true dim sum dish to share. These pieces of culinary art obviously come with a price. For 8 dim sum dishes, one large bowl of wonton egg noodles, and 2 beverages, our total was around $160 USD. But I must admit this was such a memorable experience. You won't find this unique dim sum anywhere else, so if you're a Disney fan like me, I say take the plunge and go stuff yo' face. read more

Eating an amazingly detailed and cute Disney themed meal was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Hong Kong. I believed prior to coming here that this dining experience would for the visual appearance of the food more so than the taste. With this as my mindset, I was not disappointed at all. The food was presented wonderfully, while taste wise I felt many of the dishes were good to just so-so. Nevertheless, where else can you order Disney character shaped dim sum?! Nowhere (that I'm aware of); so as far as I'm concerned, if you're visiting Hong Kong Disneyland, you should take the time to eat here. Service was very friendly and accommodating. It was a wonderful, special experience. read more

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. At first I was just hoping to see all these fun dim sum without much hopes up for the quality of food. Turns out, they have some of the best dim sum I've had in Hong Kong. Yes, it comes with a price and a 48-hour advanced booking, but you'll very likely have a pleasant, unforgettable experience! Take your kids and your parents here. Everyone will have a great time. I was looking for a fun restaurant to treat my dad to, and I picked this one (although at the end he treated :P). My family and I, six of us, came here one weekday afternoon. The place was pretty full! Most of the diners were tourists from Mainland China (they were speaking Mandarin). There were some tables occupied by locals too. I didn't really see any English-speaking tourists/locals. Anyway, even before we started eating, we were already dazzled by the decor, from the train station, the hotel grounds, the sea view, the maze, to the mirrors in the bathrooms, the lotus chandelier, and the detailed glass wall, everything was just photo-worthy. And the meal hasn't even started yet! The service was excellent. Servers were attentive, polite and professional. I'm not going to talk much about food, because honestly, EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. Just pick what you normally like in the menu and I believe they will make it well. On top of that, make sure you take photos of the pretty dim sum. You can tell each piece is a piece of art! My top recommendation is the Duffy red bean buns, the swan taro puffs, and most of all, THE BEST SHRIMP DUMPLINGS EVER (Jack). Why? Can you tell from the photos that the dumplings are densely packed with filling with no space and loose skin left? The skin has a perfect thickness and chewiness, not dry but moist. They seasoned the shrimp well too. It's just heaven when you take a bite of that shrimp dumpling! On top of that you get to eat Jack... haha. I would definitely go back again when I visit HK. I can't wait to try the other items on the menu! read more

Underdelivered. We made reservations and we're excited to come in and try the Disney din sum, when we called they verified the reservation and explained that the Disney dim sum would be available, we made reservations a week in advance. Once we got here we didn't see the dim sum on the menu so we asked and they explained that they had to be special ordered 48 hours in advance.........which was not what we were told,so that was a little disappointing. Nevertheless we ordered the Wagyu with pancakes, dumplings and pork belly, the Wagyu was ok, nothing special, the pork belly was cold, and the dumplings were just ok. The food was sub par, felt like we overpaid for what we ordered, maybe the dim sum would have been better. read more

Crystal Lotus is located inside the Hong Kong Disneyland hotel. The hotel itself reminds me of the Grand Floridian and the restaurant is stylish fine dining. We made reservations in advance and placed our special order for the Disney character dim sum. It's a pleasant dining experience and a nice break from shuffling through all the crowds at the parks. White tablecloths, dish ware and all. The window table had a view of the water. It was cold and raining at the time so the hot pu-erh tea was life giving. The character dim sum is as cute as can be. Eating the buns can be tricky though 10x more fun. The food is sacrificed a little for the Disney features but overall worth getting. For some more substantial food, we also had an order of the shrimp har gow and XLB. Both great! If you have time to hop on the shuttle to the hotel mid day, it's a great option just right outside the park. read more

My friend and I reserved well in advance to come here at 11:00 on a Saturday. You can walk to the hotel from the Disneyland MTR stop. The service was impeccable - every time we finished something, the empty container was whisked away, and they're incredibly polite and friendly. Dim Sum were adorable - of course you sacrifice a little taste for presentation, but we expected that going in. For example, the Toys Story pork and vegetable buns were dry, but I loved the Mickey seafood pancakes, as well as the taro and radish cakes. I was obsessed with The XO sauce on the side. The Disney dim sum is SUPER adorable! My boyfriend and I recently traveled to Hong Kong and we just had to stop by Disneyland. So we decided (well mostly I decided) to stop by the lotus restaurant inside Disneyland resort hotel to try the Disney dim sum. Service was awesome. Slow but I liked how attentive they were to us. As for the dim sum, they were super cute. Be prepared to eat a lot of baos. The dishes were tasty but just a lot of bread. Pricing was expensive. I wont lie, our bill at the end was like $200usd just for dim sum. Overall, we had a great time and service was good. If your in Hong Kong and love Disney and dim sum, it's worth trying. Dined here for lunch recently as my brother and his family had just arrived to their stay at the hotel. We figured out it would be best to grab some lunch before we started our afternoon at Disney. Ambiance(5/5) Beautiful crystal lotus adorned the windows as well as gorgeous lotus chandeliers hung from the ceiling. Our party of five had no reservations upon waking in and were immediately seated in a nice, comfy, corner table. Later on I saw they closed about 30 minutes prior to us being seated. And now you know why we were immediately seated! White tables cloths and plush seating, funky chairs, it makes for a beautiful presentation. Service(3/5) Having said that they didn't seem very busy, I felt it took longer than normal to come back with our mixed drinks. Otherwise our server was attentive and pleasant. Food(4/5) Having had dim sum at other local restaurants, this was "good/alright" but not awesome. We didn't order a ton as we wanted to have snacks later on, so we went with just a few. (Steamed pork buns, cheese puff, xiao long bao, and shrimp dumplings) Price(3/5) Naturally you're dining at a Disney resort so what can you expect? It's ALL going to be overpriced but that's the cost of happiness here. Impression(3/5) I'm sure no matter where you go to eat around Disney it's going to be more for ambiance than for the taste or quality. Overall, it's a good location inside the hotel and very calm and serene, just don't expect to be wowed with their regular dim sum menu. If I had known in advance, I think the Disney dim sum (if ordered in advance) would have been fun to try! read more

Some ribs Dan Dan noodles Fried rice Some other noodles with a lot of veggi s that kinda looked like pancet. When my 12-year-old brother heard about the Signature Disney Dim Sum Lunch at Crystal Lotus, I knew we were all doomed to go at least once during our visit in Hong Kong. We were staying at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, which just happened to be the home for it. Be sure to book it as early as you can, as the restaurant requires you to book at least 48 hours in advance and it fills up quickly. You also have to order the food you want in advance, so upon booking, we decided to just get enough food so that each of us could have at least one piece of every specialty dim sum. My favorites were probably the Mickey's Double-Layer Turnip + Taro Pudding, Mickey's Seafood Glutinous Pancake and the Three Little Pigs Barbecue Pork Buns. All of them were savory and delicious. We also ordered the Duffy + Shellie May Steamed Sweet Buns, Little Green Men Pork + Vegetable Buns, "Olaf" Steamed Red Bean Buns, "Mushroom" Buns and Minced Chicken + Shrimp "Mike" Buns. While these all tasted fine, they were nothing amazing. I felt like each of them had too much breading for my liking. I was definitely not a fan of the bread:filling ratio, which in my opinion, is quite important when it comes to dim sum. While I may not have enjoyed the actual taste of everything, I have to commend Crystal Lotus for their presentation. Everything was so cute and unique and it was obvious that a lot of time had been put into making each and every dim sum. Definitely a fun lunch to have with your children at least once. read more

Disney themed dim sum at Crystal Lotus is a MUST DO if you go to Hong Kong Disneyland. They have the cutest dim sum in all of Hong Kong and it's pretty tasty as well. We wanted to try everything so we ordered all from the list below. (Very important to note: it is required that you pre-order all the cute Disney themed items 48hrs in advance, you cannot order them on the spot at the restaurant.) * Mickey's Seafood Glutinous Pancake * Three Little Pigs Barbecue Pork Bun * Duffy & ShellieMay Steamed Sweet Bun * Little Green Men Pork and Vegetable Bun * Baymax Bun * "Olaf" Steamed Red Bean Bun * Mickey's Double-Layer Turnip and Taro Pudding * Tsum Tsum chilled pudding Aside from the above items, you can also order typical dim sum fare from the a la carte menu. We found everything to be tasty, so it is definitely worth a try. And very instagram worthy! The details on the Duffy and Shellie mae buns are amazing! Service here was great, we found everyone to be friendly and efficient. Plus the overall feel of the restaurant is calm and quiet, it was a really pleasant experience. We were seated immediately and they told us the food was ready as soon as we were seated but offered to hold our dishes until the rest of our party arrived (so nice!). Like most popular restaurants in HK, you have a 90 min time limit but we never felt rushed or pressured. In fact, we ordered so much and became so sluggish and slow (but determined to finish everything) that we actually took a long time. When we asked for the check, we realised all of our membership cards had expired and we needed to renew, our server was so kind to tell us that we could actually do it at the hotel reception. He basically let all but one of us leave the restaurant to take care of this first -before paying- so we could renew and get our discount. It took us quite awhile to do this, but the restaurant never rushed us and let us casually graze our way through what was left of our dishes. I've done other Disney dining in the hotels and I have to say this may be my favorite; it's the perfect one to try if you're in Hong Kong. Such a nice way to represent both Disney and Hong Kong, down to every last detail. Disney never disappoints and that is certainly true at Crystal Lotus. read more

We went to the restaurant as part of our Disneyland trip for the character dim sum. The restaurant needs 48 hrs notice on weekdays and 24 hrs on weekends to make the dim sum so reservations are a must! Each set of dim sum was around $80 hkd and came in sets of 2 or 3. We ordered the Olaf, three little pigs, Duffy, Baymax and little green men dim sum. The buns were so adorable! We also ordered a noodle dish as the dim sum are quite small. Unfortunately the buns were not very tasty, especially for the steep price. I would recommend going if you like Disney characters but for the price you can probably get better character dim sum elsewhere. read more
