I was SOOOO excited when I found out Disney had a set menu for Dim Sum! I wasn't staying at the hotel but Crystal Lotus is very walkable from the theme park (about 10-15 min walk). I was initially worried about booking a reservation and not being able to get to the hotel but it's actually a very easy walk. We made a reservation about 1 week beforehand for about 1pm. They had our reservation and our table ready with an awesome view of the ocean. *Remember when you make your reservation, make sure you indicate that you want the dim sum meal otherwise, you can't order it. The lunch comes with 6 courses but with 10 items. I think the total was about $120 USD or $940HKD which I think was an excellent deal. The entire restaurant is beautifully decorated. The entire hotel is beautiful and there's a bunch of activities to do around there. As for the food: Every dish (minus the salad) had some kind of hidden Disney touch to it whether it be a hidden micky, donald duck shaped veggies or character shaped baos. Everything was delicious but my favorite item was the Beef with Donald Duck cut squash/cucumbers. The beef was so tender. I also felt a bit guilty eating the cute baos decorated as characters but they were also super delicious. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall, I highly recommend this meal as it's both unique and delicious. DISNEY DIM SUM! At Hong Kong Disneyland, the magic even extends into their food. Crystal Lotus is HK Disneyland Hotel's fine-dining, flagship restaurant specializing in Chinese cuisine. Both the hotel and the restaurant are beautifully decorated while offering stunning views. Service is exceptional to say the least. Fair warning though - this is a meal you have to plan for. You'll need to make a reservation AND preorder the dim sum when making the res. Don't say no one told you! The buns here are the cutest ones you'll ever get your hands on. They're adorable, tasty, super detailed, and there's plenty to choose from. We decided to go with the "Little Green Men" (pork + veggie), "Baymax" (shrimp), and "Three Little Pigs" (bbq pork). Not only were they delicious, but also super soft with a great filling to bun ratio. Some of my other favorites from this meal are the Star Wars baked egg custard puff and Mickey's double-layer turnip/taro pudding. When I was here in October, they also had a Halloween special called Jack's Party (shrimp dumpling, crabmeat scallop puff, mummy vegetable bun). This was like a mini dim sum trio that was crafted with tons of detail, but was obviously more of a photo op and not a true dim sum dish to share. These pieces of culinary art obviously come with a price. For 8 dim sum dishes, one large bowl of wonton egg noodles, and 2 beverages, our total was around $160 USD. But I must admit this was such a memorable experience. You won't find this unique dim sum anywhere else, so if you're a Disney fan like me, I say take the plunge and go stuff yo' face. read more

Eating an amazingly detailed and cute Disney themed meal was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Hong Kong. I believed prior to coming here that this dining experience would for the visual appearance of the food more so than the taste. With this as my mindset, I was not disappointed at all. The food was presented wonderfully, while taste wise I felt many of the dishes were good to just so-so. Nevertheless, where else can you order Disney character shaped dim sum?! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. At first I was just hoping to see all these fun dim sum without much hopes up for the quality of food. Turns out, they have some of the best dim sum I've had in Hong Kong. Yes, it comes with a price and a 48-hour advanced booking, but you'll very likely have a pleasant, unforgettable experience! Take your kids and your parents here. Everyone will have a great time. I was looking for a fun restaurant to treat my dad to, and I picked this one (although at the end he treated :P). My family and I, six of us, came here one weekday afternoon. The place was pretty full! Most of the diners were tourists from Mainland China (they were speaking Mandarin). There were some tables occupied by locals too. I didn't really see any English-speaking tourists/locals. Anyway, even before we started eating, we were already dazzled by the decor, from the train station, the hotel grounds, the sea view, the maze, to the mirrors in the bathrooms, the lotus chandelier, and the detailed glass wall, everything was just photo-worthy. And the meal hasn't even started yet! The service was excellent. Servers were attentive, polite and professional. I'm not going to talk much about food, because honestly, EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. Just pick what you normally like in the menu and I believe they will make it well. On top of that, make sure you take photos of the pretty dim sum. You can tell each piece is a piece of art! My top recommendation is the Duffy red bean buns, the swan taro puffs, and most of all, THE BEST SHRIMP DUMPLINGS EVER (Jack). Why? Can you tell from the photos that the dumplings are densely packed with filling with no space and loose skin left? The skin has a perfect thickness and chewiness, not dry but moist. They seasoned the shrimp well too. It's just heaven when you take a bite of that shrimp dumpling! On top of that you get to eat Jack... haha. I would definitely go back again when I visit HK. We made reservations and we're excited to come in and try the Disney din sum, when we called they verified the reservation and explained that the Disney dim sum would be available, we made reservations a week in advance. Once we got here we didn't see the dim sum on the menu so we asked and they explained that they had to be special ordered 48 hours in advance.........which was not what we were told,so that was a little disappointing. Nevertheless we ordered the Wagyu with pancakes, dumplings and pork belly, the Wagyu was ok, nothing special, the pork belly was cold, and the dumplings were just ok. Crystal Lotus is located inside the Hong Kong Disneyland hotel. The hotel itself reminds me of the Grand Floridian and the restaurant is stylish fine dining. We made reservations in advance and placed our special order for the Disney character dim sum. It's a pleasant dining experience and a nice break from shuffling through all the crowds at the parks. White tablecloths, dish ware and all. The window table had a view of the water. It was cold and raining at the time so the hot pu-erh tea was life giving. The character dim sum is as cute as can be. Eating the buns can be tricky though 10x more fun. The food is sacrificed a little for the Disney features but overall worth getting. For some more substantial food, we also had an order of the shrimp har gow and XLB. Both great! If you have time to hop on the shuttle to the hotel mid day, it's a great option just right outside the park. read more

My friend and I reserved well in advance to come here at 11:00 on a Saturday. You can walk to the hotel from the Disneyland MTR stop. The service was impeccable - every time we finished something, the empty container was whisked away, and they're incredibly polite and friendly. Dim Sum were adorable - of course you sacrifice a little taste for presentation, but we expected that going in. For example, the Toys Story pork and vegetable buns were dry, but I loved the Mickey seafood pancakes, as well as the taro and radish cakes. I was obsessed with The XO sauce on the side. So we decided (well mostly I decided) to stop by the lotus restaurant inside Disneyland resort hotel to try the Disney dim sum. Service was awesome. Slow but I liked how attentive they were to us. As for the dim sum, they were super cute. Be prepared to eat a lot of baos. The dishes were tasty but just a lot of bread. Pricing was expensive. I wont lie, our bill at the end was like $200usd just for dim sum. Overall, we had a great time and service was good. If your in Hong Kong and love Disney and dim sum, it's worth trying. Dined here for lunch recently as my brother and his family had just arrived to their stay at the hotel. We figured out it would be best to grab some lunch before we started our afternoon at Disney. Ambiance(5/5) Beautiful crystal lotus adorned the windows as well as gorgeous lotus chandeliers hung from the ceiling. Our party of five had no reservations upon waking in and were immediately seated in a nice, comfy, corner table. Later on I saw they closed about 30 minutes prior to us being seated. And now you know why we were immediately seated! White tables cloths and plush seating, funky chairs, it makes for a beautiful presentation. Service(3/5) Having said that they didn't seem very busy, I felt it took longer than normal to come back with our mixed drinks. Otherwise our server was attentive and pleasant. Food(4/5) Having had dim sum at other local restaurants, this was "good/alright" but not awesome. We didn't order a ton as we wanted to have snacks later on, so we went with just a few. (Steamed pork buns, cheese puff, xiao long bao, and shrimp dumplings) Price(3/5) Naturally you're dining at a Disney resort so what can you expect? It's ALL going to be overpriced but that's the cost of happiness here. Impression(3/5) I'm sure no matter where you go to eat around Disney it's going to be more for ambiance than for the taste or quality. I came here for dinner with my family andthey are from here Hong Kong And I told them to order what ever they would like me to try and some of the food looked a little iffy but wow! After I tried it I was surprised I have never tried this back home. We had traditional duck. Some ribs Dan Dan noodles Fried rice Some other noodles with a lot of veggi s that kinda looked like pancet. Super fancy restaurant the waiter even unfolded my napkin and placed on my lap and then they brought everyone a warm wet towel to clean our hands. Totally recommend. When my 12-year-old brother heard about the Signature Disney Dim Sum Lunch at Crystal Lotus, I knew we were all doomed to go at least once during our visit in Hong Kong. We were staying at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, which just happened to be the home for it. Be sure to book it as early as you can, as the restaurant requires you to book at least 48 hours in advance and it fills up quickly. You also have to order the food you want in advance, so upon booking, we decided to just get enough food so that each of us could have at least one piece of every specialty dim sum. My favorites were probably the Mickey's Double-Layer Turnip + Taro Pudding, Mickey's Seafood Glutinous Pancake and the Three Little Pigs Barbecue Pork Buns. All of them were savory and delicious. We also ordered the Duffy + Shellie May Steamed Sweet Buns, Little Green Men Pork + Vegetable Buns, "Olaf" Steamed Red Bean Buns, "Mushroom" Buns and Minced Chicken + Shrimp "Mike" Buns. While these all tasted fine, they were nothing amazing. I felt like each of them had too much breading for my liking. I was definitely not a fan of the bread:filling ratio, which in my opinion, is quite important when it comes to dim sum. While I may not have enjoyed the actual taste of everything, I have to commend Crystal Lotus for their presentation. Everything was so cute and unique and it was obvious that a lot of time had been put into making each and every dim sum. Definitely a fun lunch to have with your children at least once. read more

Like most popular restaurants in HK, you have a 90 min time limit but we never felt rushed or pressured. In fact, we ordered so much and became so sluggish and slow (but determined to finish everything) that we actually took a long time. When we asked for the check, we realised all of our membership cards had expired and we needed to renew, our server was so kind to tell us that we could actually do it at the hotel reception. He basically let all but one of us leave the restaurant to take care of this first -before paying- so we could renew and get our discount. It took us quite awhile to do this, but the restaurant never rushed us and let us casually graze our way through what was left of our dishes. I've done other Disney dining in the hotels and I have to say this may be my favorite; it's the perfect one to try if you're in Hong Kong. We went to the restaurant as part of our Disneyland trip for the character dim sum. The restaurant needs 48 hrs notice on weekdays and 24 hrs on weekends to make the dim sum so reservations are a must! Each set of dim sum was around $80 hkd and came in sets of 2 or 3. We ordered the Olaf, three little pigs, Duffy, Baymax and little green men dim sum. The buns were so adorable! We also ordered a noodle dish as the dim sum are quite small. Unfortunately the buns were not very tasty, especially for the steep price. I would recommend going if you like Disney characters but for the price you can probably get better character dim sum elsewhere. read more
