My daughter wanted beef noodle soup and chose Explorer's Club for lunch. I was surprised to find…read morethat it was semi-buffet (you choose an entree and then can go to the buffet for appetizers and dessert), so lunch was more expensive than I was expecting ($655 HKD for two people, including service). For starters, they had a fairly big selection of items - salad bar, cold cuts, fried chicken, and international fare like masala lotus root with potato, carrot and cashew and pork floss salted egg yolk sauce with purple sweet potato. Nothing was particularly good, but I was glad to at least get some veggies in the salad bar. We both selected the beef noodle soup for our entree. I was a disappointed by the lackluster broth and the beef was not as tender as I had hoped. There were a ton of desserts with international flavors - Russian honey cake, Egyptian Earl Grey tea cheesecake). Normally I would have been excited to eat as many desserts as possible, but while they looked pretty, they failed to dazzle. At least there was fresh fruit an orange juice available. I just saw that the semi-buffet option is no longer being offered at lunch, only for dinner. At least the Explorer's Club is a nice place to sit and escape the hustle and bustle of the park.

Update November 2018 Came here for an afternoon treat with…read moremy sons. Much better than its predecessor, Jaspa's. We did not sample the food, but other diners looked happy. We had a banana smoothie and a chocolate milkshake. Both were hits with the boys, the only fault being that the smoothie was still a bit icy. I had a sugarless mojito: tart and refreshing. Good to see environmentally straws in use. Disappointing. We used to go to Jaspa's frequently when we lived in Sai Kung. Family friendly, simple reliable food, great service. Their junk is also a great venue. When looking to feed and entertain our young family, you couldn't beat Jaspa's. We visited the DBN Jaspa's on Easter Monday. The plaza was full of families: Easter holiday, and the start of the school Spring holidays. Jaspa's? All tables full, and every table a family with kids. "Where's the kids' menu?", I asked. "Kids' menu? Sorry, no kids' menu this weekend. It will be back from tomorrow... ". And no option to buy smaller size serves off the menu. I am not sure what thinking applied here, whether they were out to discourage family diners, or to force families to buy adult size dishes. Whatever the explanation, this was not the family friendly place we knew and loved. I hope that the prevalence of families at their tables might have sent the restaurant management a subtle reminder!

The food itself and selection variety was actually better than our high-end hotel food. The staff far exceeded my expectations and were extremely Accommodating. Before writing this review, I watched the staff interact with many customers (this was lunchtime on a busy sunny beautiful day). If you are first timers, relocating families, and/or just here, this is a great place for local information on subjects from A-to-Z, especially on housing and best ways to purchase goods of all varieties! This is like the best relocation service with extremely delicious food to boot! But you don't have to take my word for it, stop by and ask for Sanjay. The food was so good, I ate there several times.

I love the industrial decor of this locations and think food is a bit better than the others too…read more The outdoor seating is generally pretty full on the weekends and provides great people watching even from inside. The brunch/breakfast items are pretty standard, hard to mess up items. The scrambled eggs were nice and light, but not runny. I had been craving pancakes for a while but hadn't seen many other options for them in Ktown. Although these pancakes weren't amazing, the stack of 3 were fluffy enough to satisfy my craving, even though they were a but chewy. Jaspas in general overs a wide variety of food options which makes it good for groups and a range of preferences/dietary restrictions. The food quality is just ok/average though in my book. It's not mind blowing good, but you know that you're going to get a decent standard. The prices are a bit high given the food is just ok, but that's the western premium carried over from soho. The extra 4th star is definitely for the decor of this Kennedy Town location.

It was a great portion with a side salad and fries. It was juicy enough that it went dripping down the sides of your hands. The bun was not the best, but hey, everything else was good! My friend has the chicken tacos, which came in a wrap it yourself format, with all the fixings. He was quite happy with that too. I reason I'm not giving it a 5* is the service. Although my table was one of the few ones occupied at that time, the service was not attentive. I would like to come back and try their services again and also try other menu items that may not be as popular.

I've held off on reviewing EA because I'm torn. While I love this place and some people I've…read moreintroduced it to have called it my 'canteen' because it's so close to where I live and the fact that I order from here all the time; the space is small and I don't know if writing more positive reviews will just make it all the harder for me to sit and order. However, they've since moved to a bigger space so I'm ok with sharing my not so secret place. I've tried almost everything on the menu and basically everything there is good. The burgers though-they have burgers with chicken, which doesn't count but are still delicious. Why come to a burger place though and not order beef? The beef here is fresh and delicious and it's cooked medium rare-medium. I only eat burgers at that level if I trust the beef to be high quality. I always get the burger here at that level. Price wise, compared to what you can get at other burger places it's just...you can't compare. While other places have a quality burger you pay-what you get here for the price is ridiculous. If you think that's subjective then they have a set for 68 bucks carry out during lunch: burger, fries, drink. It was so good that when I was home recovering from surgery I ordered it 3 days straight. Seriously, just go see for yourself.

When I opened it up I realized the entire inner burger was RAW. They cut the chicken meat into small pieces and form a patty that way. There were literally chunks of raw chicken in the center. Good thing I put a flashlight to the burger. Make sure you check your burgers before you eat them... The lady cooking should have come out and apologized for basically poisoning their customer. But nothing.
