Great selection of hats, but usually over priced. They do run deals once in awhile, but the hats in the deals are usually pretty bad. It is a chain place, so you'd expect better price breaks and deals. Staff is always helpful and friendly, and they have some specialty hat related items. The Manager of this store is extremely rude. She is not very good on the machine either. When I said I didn't like the work she did she said it was to bad I was stuck with the hat. I walked in looking for a Cubs hat.......but my boyfriend has a big brain, so naturally, his size was out. When I talked to one of the guys about ordering it he said it wouldn't be a problem, but then I decided to order a Gators hat instead. I was a little annoyed that a day or two after I had it shipped to the store (because I didn't want to pay for shipping, and I was almost positive I wanted it embroidered and was more inclined to do it if I had to go pick it up) that there were specials online. Not a huge deal, and they may or may not have known...but still, a little annoyed. However, good customer service. I want to say the guy's name was Richard. I could be wrong. I come pick up my hat...their machine doesn't work. I came again randomly, machine isn't working. I think I actually came one more time and it still wasn't working (right before the holidays) which isn't their fault, but sucked. Clearly I should have called before making the trip out there each time, and one of those times was when the weather first got really shitty.......but luckily the Lids at Lincolnwood had a working machine. I'll probably order online from now on, but the guys here were very nice and helpful and considering the store is TINY, acknowledged everyone walking in even though it was packed. read more

I have been shopping at Lids for many years and they seem to always have excellent customer service. They have the greatest selection of hats of all sports. They have a great service where you can order your hat online and have it shipped to your nearest store location. There was a situation where I needed a hat in a certain size for a gift and this particular store was out of it. I asked if there was a way that they can find out if another store that was the next closest to my house that might have it. They called and told me North Riverside Mall but that was kind of far for me so I asked them if they could have it transferred to the Norridge store. The manager said he would go to the North Riverside Mall location and personally pick it up for me. Now can someone tell me if that is GREAT customer service or what. Everyone is very friendly and helpful in that store. I will always buy my hats at Lids. read more

Stay far AWAY from the Lids store in Norridge Illinois at the Harlem Irving Plaza mall. I ordered a KC cap to be delivered to that store for pickup. The clerk called me on Friday July 24th to tell me my cap was in. When I went to pick it up on Saturday July 25th another clerk told me the cap was locked in the basement and he didn't have the key. When I went back a third time on Monday July 27th a third clerk said she still couldn't find the cap. I called Lids and told them I wanted a free cap for wasting at least $30.00 of my time. The lady on the phone said they could not sent me a free cap. I complained to the BBB and I am waiting for a response from them. The Norridge store said they were going to send me a cap straight to my house. I should get it by Friday July 31st. I finally got the cap after talking to customer service again. They sent it out overnight delivery to their credit after I suggested it. read more
