Michele P. was very accommodating as I browsed the store, looking at items from my wish list. Unfortunately Coach has not issued the singular, small Statue of Liberty charm that appeared on the runway. That was the number one item on my list, but Michele patiently showed me the other beautiful New York themed charms and some of the newer Coach handbags. Lately, I've been in this store for multiple reasons. Besides redeeming a gift card to pick up a little something for the holidays, I received a coupon in the mail from them for 25% any item which was a nice tidbit for a Christmas present. I've also stopped in to pick up a couple holiday gifts, as well. Service in here is really great and the main reason why I've picked up gifts because they're really helpful in answering questions and eager to go back and pick up other options. I love how after you check out, they'll come back out with your gift nicely wrapped up with a new item from their stock in the back. read more

I don't really shop Coach but I got an Ergo tote for my birthday last year in LA and couldn't take the leather cleaner with me on the plane so I had to throw the bottle out. Anyway, I walk in here to get another bottle and before I could pay for it, on of the sales associates warned me that the product would not work on my purse (and might ruin the leather in fact) because of the typ of leather that the bag is made out of. Whew... good thing I had to throw out that bottle at the airport! read more

Overall, great customer service and high quality (leather) goods. I visited this location twice in the last month. Both times I had the full attention of a customer service associate. The first time Elyse helped me. She was very pleasant and helpful. The second time Monica helped me. She was great too! I was really pleased with the customer service I received. I should make a note, I visited during the "off hours" both times - Friday around 2 and Monday around 3. If you can, I highly recommend coming in during these times for the best service. They didn't have what I was looking for in stock either time, but they were able to get the items delivered to me with no additional charge. It sucks having to wait for your purchase but the delivery was quick! I would return to this store for future purchases. btw... I love their new Saffiano leather!! So pretty!! read more

Usually whenever I visit this particular store, I don't have a problem with the workers, but this particular time I did. When I first came in the saleswomen had probably said hi, and that was it. No "how are you? Do you need any assistance?" or anything helpful at all! Instead while I was browsing around the store they went up to my husband and asked about my son. This continued even after I suggested my husband and son to move to another part of the store while I browsed around. Thinking that another worker would come to my aid, she too went to my husband and son, and ignored me as well! I was so fed up with their crappy service they were giving me that I hastily and angrily mentioned that I wanted to immediately wanted to leave. About an hour later I had later found out that one of the saleswomen who had ignored me was a manager ,and had deeply apologized for their past mistake when I had called to complain about their crappy service. I was so angry that I had told them I shouldn't be treated this way, and now it has made me decline on buying a product from them. Never in my life have I felt this awful walking into one of their stores. They had offered a one-and-one time with a scheduled appointment to make up for it, and I don't have to buy anything. This I felt wasn't enough because to me if would've felt forced and fake, but now they insisted that I think about over the weekend, and they will give me a call back next week. One thing is for sure, after going to multiple stores, other sales representatives had given me better customer assistance when I either did or didn't need it. It had make me realize to NEVER go to that particular location again! The one in Water Tower Place is way better, and friendlier than any other location I've been to. read more

I'd give 0 stars if I could. They spoiled my Christmas surprise for my wife, I went to buy a bag for my wife and the sell person wrapped the wrong item, at the beginning she said they would wrap for me a different unit (the same style) not the 1 on display, it turns out when my wife opened her present it was a different style so we went back to exchange it and the sell person ( a different one this time) apologized for the inconvenience and told me they would get the right bag this time. It turns out they wanted me to take the one on display because they ran out in the back so much BS it's not the first time we had this kind of experience something similar happened at the other store in Rosemont it feels like staff is trained to try to get rid of the items on display first. Be careful when buying on those stores and if they offer to wrap a bag for you make sure to open and double check it's the right item. read more

I have quite a bit of traveling coming up and Ive had my eye on a small Coach crossbody style purse that would be perfect for travel! So off I went to Old Orchard in search of my bag. I knew everything about the bag I was looking for and simply needed to go to a store to get one. Of course they don't have the bag I wanted . I begin to walk away defeated because this was the second store Id been in that for some reason didn't have this purse. What was different about this Coach store? The sales lady Shirley. On top of being super nice and helpful, she was the only person to offer to order the bag for me and throw in free two day shipping. Why the other store didn't think to order it, I have no idea. Either way,my bag arrived today and Im happy. Shirley FTW! read more

I went in Sunday afternoon right when they opened to look around. It was very quiet and the store looked great. John helped me pick out a scarf and even showed me a few different ways to wear it. He got me a brand new, beautifully wrapped scarf from the back when I checked out. Dear Monica - Thank you so much for all of your help finding my purse! The last thing I expected to do on my lunch break was to make a purchase. For the rest of our readers, I'll start by revisiting my experience. My latest coach purse had fallen apart and I needed a new black purse. Something that would last and that I could wear with anything. I am not a shopper so it's really annoying to spend the time and get out to a location and browse. So I made my purchase online. I'm older, so right away I took screen shots of the items I was interested in, and sent them to my younger coworkers for their opinion. "That purse looks like it's for an old lady!" my one coworker expressed. I knew patterns were in for this particular item I was looking at. I think the gold embellishments were what made it a little mature in style, but I liked the retro feel and design. That's right, I saw retro where she saw an 80 year old woman. My next coworker thought that the purse was seasonal, proclaiming that it was very much a fall design. This purse was black and white, however it was made out of a sort of canvas material, so I could definitely see his point. However, for fall, I think of rocking a bright orange carryall! Just like the leaves that change color. The last girl I asked just said, "Haters gonna hate, and I'll wear anything whenever I want!" I liked her attitude, but it did not really speak to me. All of them were honest replies, but I felt like none of them were answering me in a way where I felt like they were taking my personality into consideration. The male coworker suggested that instead of my "seasonal" purse, I should explore exactly what I set out to look for, which was a black purse, and he talked me into something larger than my old purse. This spoke to me because he had seen me several times, pack my medium-sized purse from things like water bottles to gloves. There were times I think the handles on my purse were used more as braces to keep things from falling out of it. He was right, and sadly, I made my purchase. When my purse arrived, I was slightly disappointed because I expected the Madison bag to have a stiff leather. Now things have changed and I love it! However, my thoughts still went back to the tiny checkered canvas bag. The sale had ended only 24 hours ago, and I decided that that I would take my lunch break to explore the Coach store. I wanted to look at this purse, not just view it online. Monica, I was instantly smiling due to all of the positive energy you were exuding when you greeted me. As luck would have it, I saved the screen shot of the purse I was talking about. Not only did you know right away what bag I was talking about, Monica, but you thought nothing of pulling out of the shipment in the back to show it to me. As an added bonus, it was still ringing up at sale price! That's exactly what customer service looks like to me. Not only do I love my little "old lady" purse, but my coworkers have had a chance to see it up close, and they cannot stop eyeballing it, and talking about how cool it is. To go the extra mile, I'd also like to thank you, Monica, for the nice letter you sent me, thanking me for my business. Monica, thank you for everything you did to help me out. I am not only impressed with you, but also Coach as a company. I never have anything from the heart to say about retailers, but I'm honestly blown away with the level of service I have received. I had a horrible experience with this store. Jillian M. a "store manager" was just a nasty person to talk to and will be reported to corporate in hopes they provide her a better avenue for giving better customer service. The reason you have a job Jillian is because customers like us buy this product. I requested a simple dust bag for a purchase made online and she was very rude, disrespectful, and just very unbecoming of a manager. Instead of finding a solution she gave me a phone number? What an idiot this lady was. We purchase from this company through out the year and instead of getting a good customer experience we received a childish response. She spoke over me many times and I hope that corporate coach executives listens to the recording and see they hired a wrong person for the job. I shop at the 4999 Old Orchard Ctr location quite frequently. On one of those occasions I purchased two (onyx and gold colors) limited edion handbags. I wore the gold handbags out to a dinner and noticed the file snap on the front pocket was broken. I was rather disappointed since the handbag was limited edition and I purchased the last one in that particular color. I re-visited the store and inquired about my options (exchange? check another location? order online?)? I was offered (per Amanda B) the Coach Repair service. Since the handbag was brand new the repair fee was waived- this was ggrrreat news!!- the only fall back was the asterisk symbol at the bottom of the repair report (customer copy) which read: " Please Allow 4-6 weeks for repair processing time". ( I just purchased this purse and I had to wait 4-6 weeks to wear it out?!?!?) Luckily, I had the onyx colored handbag I could wear in the mean time. 5 weeks passed. I was shopping at Old Orchard and figured I would find out what the repair update on my handbag. I was told the database the have in the store does not show any updates and it would be my best bet to directly call the repair service. Although, the associate suggested it may not be ready since it was only 5 weeks into the reapir. I didnt think much of it. It's now 8 weeks later and I have yet to receive my purse. I called the 800-444-3611 CDC Repair Line and was told that I should receive my purse approximately sometime next week (placing the repair processing time at 9-10 weeks vs the 4-6 per customer copy report). To add fuel to this fire the rep told me the repair center received the handbag last week!!! She suggested I call the store and inquire as to why?! ....I did just that, I called the Coach store (asked for a Manager) and calmly and politely mentioned I had a complaint that I wanted to bring to their attention. Marcy introduced herself as the store manager and asked what she could help me out with?! I tried to explain (again calmly and politely) to Marcy what happened and mid explanation I was sideswept by Marcy's change in tone [ I understand no one likes hearing complaints and in retail (especially) one sometimes has to develop the 'reflex shrug'- cannot please everyone attitude]. But instead of Marcy telling me "I apologize. Let me see what I am able to do " and as I suggested she look to see when the store shipped it out her voice became sterile (borderline annoyed) and she instructed me to hold. She was clearly bothered with my call. She came back on and rudely lectured me that they sent the handbag out on "one of the Saturdays". I requested she tell me the actual date. She couldnt give do that because that would mean she would (and I quote)" have to take out the calendar". She kept on going on saying (still VERY much annoyed, rude and more importantly UN-professional!! ): " The repair center receives thousands of purses so it takes long", "What do you want me to do about it?", etc. I was blow away!!! Not only was I not able to get a straight answer, she let me know that I was becoming a nuisance to her. Initially (when I called requesting to speak to a manager, I though): she, a manager, would have more (any?!) options available to effectively fix my problem. Not the case!! I gave up!!!! I asked for the customer service number, perhaps there I would be able to "effectively FIX" my problem. I called the 800 number spoke to Wanda who was being (imagine) professional and helpul and she apologized (!!) for the inconvenience. Wanda placed me on hold as she called the Old Orchard store. She preceeded to explain to me there was a shipping error (finally !!! some explanation) and she apologized again and followed by (the standard) throwing in a little something extra in the form of a coupon for a future discount. I dont want my experience to be an overshadow on that entire store but this particular experience was not something I wish upon any customer. Happy Holidays!!! read more
