Lido door is a substandard company and should not possess licensing to install garage doors, which can be hazardous if not installed correctly. Do not use this company. Lido Garage Door is unreliable, unprofessional, irresponsible, untrained, and unknowledgeable in the mechanical installation of garage doors. When we engaged Van, he presented as aloof, made no notes, or measurements on a project requiring two custom designed garage doors. Van accepted the project and provided a firm fixed proposal for a specific product. When his team arrived and began installing materials in custom enclosed patio room new construction, it became immediately clear the crew was poorly trained and did not possess the basic mechanical knowledge to install the doors. Working with my general contractor, we ordered them to cease the installation and requested Van visit the site. When Van arrived, I pointed out the flaw in the installation and he committed to ordering the right glass and correcting the noted problems. During the second visit, five weeks later, the team failed to properly install the doors. The doors were unsafe to operate, bound in places and freely dropper several inches when closing. It was at this time I discovered Van had not provided the specified doors, a product for which we later learned he was not an approved reseller. Several calls went unanswered. After being ghosted for six weeks, and causing construction delays, the GC engaged a truly professional company, and authorized dealer. The product we have is now precisely what we asked for. The GC issued a breach of contract termination notice, and was forced to absorb the losses incurred through delay, misrepresentation, and unprofessional conduct. read more

They were very fast, showed up in under an hour after we called and had our garage door working in less than an 30 minutes. Back in 2018, my garage door spring broke. Lido Doors came out and replaced the spring. The door was running fine until a couple months ago when it would stop mid-opening and get stuck there. I called a different service this time (Garage Door Hero) and they came out to take a look. They readjusted the spring and fixed the problem but said this would be just temporary since the last technician INSTALLED THE WRONG SIZE SPRINGS and a spring replacement would cost around $250. So basically no, I would not recommend using Lido Doors. read more

What the hell is this company? How does this place exist?? They installed the garage doors in our condo complex like 15 years ago. They did a garbage job and the weather stripping is around 3 inches short on each side where it isn't sealed...so it floods. Now, today they told me they will get here between 1-2 to fix it...at 2:15 I call and they just give me "oh, he's not there yet?". He then follows up with they will be here at three, wanna guess what happens? No one shows up. At 3:30 I call and cancel the order. AT SIX AT NIGHT SOME RANDOM GUY SHOWS UP. He pulls up to our garage...didn't bother calling and POUNDS ON THE GARAGE DOOR. Who the hell thinks that's okay?? Is it normal behavior to knock on a garage door like you're a cop? Did I miss that becoming normal etiquette at some point? The best part is how that he couldn't comprehend how showing up randomly at 6 at night, missing his window by around 4-5 hours was laughable. The torsion spring on our roll up garage door broke late last night. The door was closed and we were inside the house. The sound of the spring snapping shook the whole house. It took a minute to figure out what happened. My grandson said it felt like lightning had struck in his room. We contacted Lido doors first thing this morning. They sent Mario out within two hours. Very poor customer service. They installed my garage doors several years ago, and I called because my outside keypad wasn't working. Yesterday, they said someone would be in my area and would bring me a new keypad at my home around 4pm in exchange for payment. The guy showed up without the keypad. Apparently he wasn't given proper instructions or forgot. That's fine. He promised to come back today with the keypad between 3 and 4, and never did. I called the office to inquire about the keypad, and they said he will come tomorrow. I explained that I already waited at home for their employee twice, and need clear confirmation that he will show up this third time. Rather than apologizing for having me wait twice for their employee already, the office responded that they will not sell me the keypad and I can get it online. I was really shocked by such poor customer service. It would have been really easy for the office to just say, "We are sorry for our mistake. We will do better next time and will deliver the product as promised." Good customer service is not that hard. read more

Well the service was quick, but how about 40 minutes late to install. It was ridiculous, and then the owner proceeded to say that it was a "window" of time that they come, even when he confirmed that he would be there exactly at 8 am. Lido doors was a huge help to us. We recently bought a house with a three car garage. The existing garage doors were old and because of the poor design of the Garage a typical garage door opener was not going to work. I started at Sears, but they only offered openers like the existing ones. I spoke to Van and he recommended a unique opener design the mounted on the front wall rather than the ceiling. Van also hooked us up with another brand for a more quite close (not available in the front lift design) and then a connector to make them both work off one remote. He also suggested the key pad entry. The cost of it all was not much different than Sears, and was miles ahead in design and function. I never expected to improve the garage so much over the old system. Installation was done in one day. Great job. read more

Jane & Dana: You have said it all to precisely describe my experience with this outfit. I had two doors installed by Lido Doors since I have known the previous owner for 35 years and assumed that the same excellent service would again be provided. WRONG AGAIN!! It is not the same since Van Troung bought the business several years ago. In my case there were problems with the initial installations but DON'T EXPECT FOLLOW-ON WARRANTY SERVICE unless you send a written demand and threaten to go to court. On one door, after some months the right side cable suspension broke and caused major damage to the rail system and top strut. It's been 4 weeks and it is still not fixed. I can confirm that this guy is challenged as a business man, short tempered, rude and lacks communication skills. If you are lucky enough to get him on the phone he says he is too busy or is waiting for parts or some other excuse. FYI: 06/11/2013 NON-COMPLIANCE - LICENSE REVOKED PER 7090.1 Contracted with expired license, License personnel variation, Contracted out of classification, Violated all of the home improvement contract subsections, Exceeded down payment of $1000 or 10% whichever is least. I can only speak of my own experience. But Van was very nice and sent someone out immediately. He was very professional and reasonable. My garage door never worked better! In addition, his shop was broken into before they could deposit my check and he called to let me know to put a stop payment on the check and paid the bank fee to do so. read more

So disappointed in these guys. They told me what was wrong and scheduled a time to replace a part. They came out to repair and stated they misdiagnosed on first visit and said I had to replace whole motor--which they conveniently had with them. After they replaced and I paid, they left but Garage kept opening randomly on it's own throughout the day and night. I called immediately and was told it was not their fault that the opener was on same frequency as a neighbor. They offered to come out 2 days later (!!!) to fix BUT NEVER SHOWED UP -- or called! They had their money and could not care less. Their diagnosis was total BS. Before my garage door was not operating optimally, but still worked. Now, my garage door opens randomly and creates a huge safety and security issue. As far as I'm concerned, these guys wasted 2 stickers (they put stickers with their name and number on garage doors for service calls) because I will never call them again. I had to call manufacturer and have one of their recommended electricians look at it. Lido did not install the whole system. The manufacturer said their motor includes new sensors and wiring and the remote controls I was given were missing an important piece that allows them to be recoded. Poor job and bad customer service. Asked Van to fix torsion springs on garage, however another worker showed up without a ladder of proper height to fix the garage. After the spring replacement, the garage door gets caught on the tracks and closes with violent loud clash. After requesting for the door to be reexamined, Van no showed three times and was more than half an hour late on the fourth time when we finally gave up. Rescheduled four different times due to a "busy schedule", each time promising to be the first customer of the day. However, each time we were met with the same disappointment. During each no show, we had to call him to find out he wasn't coming- he didn't notify us beforehand to let us know he wasn't able to make it. read more

I would highly recommend Van or Tan. He answered my call right away and showed up exactly when he said he would. I had a lot of questions for Van and he answered all of them. He didn't mind that I spent pretty much the entire repair time hovering and asking him about every little thing he was doing. Van runs the company and his brother Tan works by him.He's easy to get along with and his rates are reasonable given the type of service, warranty, and workmanship he provides. If you need someone to fix your garage door, Van is the guy you should call. You simply cannot go wrong with Lido Garage. I will for sure refer them to whoever run into with garage door issues. Dana- You are absolutely correct!! I had the PRECISE same experience... He refuses to return calls or show up for work when he claims he will do so. Per my investigation: He is NOT is good standing with the California State License Board (CSLB). I recommend filing a complaint with them: the southern district number is 562-345-7656 or investigation fraud team number is 562-3457600. Van Troung is the rude and dispicable individual who misrepresents his company LIDO ELECTRONIC GARAGE DOORS. He will give you a card with License No: 288274 BUT please do your research!!!!!!!!! I had trusted my realtor that got me in contact with this guy under the impression he confirmed that Lido doors was legally about to provide the work I needed done. Also, please note-he is now at a fictitious location that displays "D & M Lawn Mower" at 1648 Babcock Street, Newport Beach, CA, 92663 but I did confirm he is located and working out of location per my own invesigation. Van and his company are first-rate! They did a terrific job of installing a high-end custom wood garage door - his installers were competent and very nice, as was the painter. Van is extremely knowledgable and professional and easy to work with. He told me the new door would be quieter than the old metal but it's literally so quiet that we aren't sure it's operating! The fit and finish of the door are perfect. He suggested, at no additional cost, a special door opener that would be much better suited to our funky garage ceiling. I am an interior designer and very picky and I couldn't find one flaw. Highly recommend. read more
