Such a cute ice cream spot!! The interior is small, but packed with older - diner styled decor (in my opinion). The workers were so nice, attentive and gave out unlimited samples. The flavors are insanely fun, unique, endless and delicious!! Great spot for summer night ice cream - so good. I suggest grabbing your ice cream and walking down to the water / along the water.

A favorite!! Very small inside but cute! Have many many flavors to choose from. Every worker I've encountered has been super kind! This time had the cake batter fudge flavor in a waffle cone and enjoyed every bit of it. Can't wait to go back!

This is a classic spot during summertime in Excelsior. The best scoop ice cream with so many flavors to choose from. My personal favorites are Fat Elvis, banana, peanut butter and chocolate, and Zoreo, dark chocolatey ice cream with marshmallow and Oreos. The shop is so cute with the sweetest decorations all around. The service is always fantastic. Friendly and welcoming staff always!

SO GOOD! Highly recommend the Fat Elvis flavor! Perfect combination of peanut butter & banana. The homemade waffle cones are delicious too! All the staff were friendly :)

The ice cream at licks unlimited is delicious! My boyfriend and I shared a small mint avalanche flavored ice cream (mint ice cream with fudge swirls, Andes candies, and Grasshopper cookies). One thing I loved about their menu is that they put prices after taxes. Their prices are very reasonable. Service was excellent but there's limited seating inside. Overall rating: 10/10

Licks unlimited is great, but the area seems like it's in a different place and it's supposed to be they could move it to a bigger area around Excelsior. licks Unlimited is an awesome place but there's also a different problem. It seems like the pricing is too much. They still have awesome customer service and good quality ice cream. They could improve by adding more flavors. Maybe make it all year open. Licks Unlimited is still an awesome place to go especially on the last day of school and in the summer.

This was such a cute, home-town ice cream shop. We were just walking by when we discovered it. I loved all of the options that they had! I couldn't decide. So I got multiple flavors in a cup. I'm definitely going to try the cone next time. This will be my summer spot next summer!

A little spendy but a nice treat after din din. I can see why they won awards with their arsenal of different and unique flavors. 9/10

Wow! What a cute little ice cream shop in the beautiful downtown excelsior! It was jam packed with a line out the door! That's the first sign it's great! They have a menu on the wall, but I found that their were other flavors not listed! They had super fun cones to choose from too. I got a birthday cone with a scoop of black licorice & Superman! Definitely a must visit!

Interesting cute/antique decor, but the staff were unfriendly/borderline rude and the quality was lacking. Both of us ordered a double scoop (which was served in a plastic cup). One of the orders was super packed in the cup and nearly overfilling, while the other order looked like two lazy half scoops stacked with lots of gaping. So one of the "double scoops" was served like 3 scoops and the other "double scoop" was served like a small 1 scoop. There was no where to sit. Indoor seating was limited and closed due to COVID safety, and there wasn't anything set up outside. The ice cream itself was okay... not great, but not awful. I would've been more satisfied going to a local grocery store and eating out of a pint in the hotel room.

Cute place for summer! The shop is small and the line was long but moves quick! The staff are super friendly and helpful. They serve Chocolate Shoppe ice cream and as a WI native, it was a great taste of home! Right by the lake to walk to and enjoy the views as well!

Best place ever. Every time I'm in this area I must go. Zoreo is my favorite ever!!! Super nice service and long lines but moves super fast.

I love that this place exists- the throwback style is perfect on a warm summer day. They have dairy free options which is a plus.

Such a quaint & delicious ice cream shop. Very small. Need to order and move along but worth the trip and calories. Delish!

My dad passed 8/30/2024 so we came to have breakfast in his old shop to celebrate him. I loved how they kept the building as is with some additions and lovely upgrades. The bar area and some seating is located in the previous two stall garage. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing!

This is it--the perfect place for a summer meal. From the amazing food and great service (thanks,…read moreTheresa!) to the stellar patio, Layline delivers an absolutely amazing experience. If I had found this place earlier this summer, I probably would have spent many happy evenings here. (I truly can't emphasize how well this restaurant captures summer vibes.) The menu was great and ticked all the boxes, taking advantage of the bounty and mood of the season. For our starters, we ordered the arancini and the johnnycake. Both were delicious. The arincini was crispy on the outside and oozed with creamy cheese. The romesco sauce complemented it perfectly. The johnnycake was fluffy and delicious and had the perfect balance of sweet and salty (don't skip the jalapeño infused maple syrup--it isn't spicy; it's just an extension of the sweet and savory balance). For our salads/veggies, we split the last three on the menu: the cauliflower, the Brussels sprouts, and the watermelon salad. My friends, don't skip any one of these. The cauliflower is a cauliflower steak that is perfectly cooked (be sure you get a lovely toasty bit!) and made for delicious savory-salty-tangy mouthful with its tomatoes and onions. Doenjang and tahini? Heck yes! The sprouts were covered in a spectacular mojo verde (imagine what pesto would be if it were Indian and you'd not be far off) that was a creative and absolutely apt pairing. As for the watermelon salad, it was all summer: chunks of watermelon, crumbles of feta, basil, hazelnut, and rings of Calabrian chili. It tasted exactly like relaxing on the porch with your most sophisticated but still totally chill bestie. For my main, I ordered the linguine pomodoro e vodka. Dude. It was so stinking good. I love a good tomato sauce, and this one did not disappoint. Crispy breadcrumbs? Yes. Mint and basil? Yes and yes. Chili oil? Heck yeah! This packed a punch and was an absolutely glorious foil for the burrata. As for dessert, I went for the crème brûlée. It was really good! It was rich and creamy (almost buttery) and absolutely chock-full of vanilla bean. Very good indeed.

The inside was pretty deserted apart from a few patrons sitting at the bar but overall the ambiance is nice and fresh and bright. Because I wasn't too hungry try I settle on the G.O.A.T salad with shrimp, my friend got the jerk chicken flatbread, her mom got the chicken egg rolls and we got the kid's cheese pizza for my friend's son. We didn't have to wait too long for our food and when it was brought to the table it looked good. Their choice of plates is an interesting one because the plates have specks that make you think they're dirty. The egg rolls weren't good at all and the inside wasn't fully cooked so you could take the flour in the wrap. The jerk chicken flatbread had no jerk sauce/seasoning on it. The salad was good but again the plate makes the dish appear unclean. We ended up sending the egg rolls back and they took them off our bill which was nice.

While I understand food costs and needing a pared down menu, gone were the uniquely Jamaican dishes such as the jerk bowls and the jackfruit, etc (still on the website by the way). So what I tried was a Jamaican Banh Mi. Basically, grilled chicken with some sliced vegetables in an imitation of a Vietnamese banh mi. I really enjoyed the sauce they drizzled on and their mango Cole slaw was one of the first times I actually liked a restaurant Cole slaw. Sadly, a sandwich with a thin slice of chicken breast and some Cole slaw is not worth the $19 price tag. While the service was very good, Montego Blu doesn't stand out anymore given the lack of their Caribbean options.
