This ice cream took me back to Jeni's Ice Cream in Columbus before they went nationwide and they no longer made their ice cream in small batches. Great choices of flavors and they all tasted home made. I got the trio with Rosemary Carrot Cake, Raspberry Cheesecake, and Cookies and Cream. All were outstanding! The employee was helpful when I asked for suggestions. We loved vibe of The Garage food hall as well.
Great selection of flavors at this ice cream shop in Garage Food Hall. They had two vegan options, also in interesting flavors and not just the obligatory vegan vanilla that a lot of shops offer. I wasn't planning on getting ice cream when I came to Garage for dinner, but saw what flavors they had and couldn't resist. I got a scoop of Irish cream Guinness ganache ice cream on a cone. The sizes are "small scoop" (1 flavor) or "regular scoop" (2 flavors). I thought the small scoop was plenty. The ice cream was very smooth and creamy, and the flavor was great.
We were in town from Cincinnati. We met friends in The Garage and after filling our bellies with different options, we decided to wrap things up with ice cream. The shop is no more than a line in front of a case full of delicious ice cream options. It's not fancy, but the ice cream is. It was difficult to choose, but it's been a while since we were there and I am not completely sure what I ordered. I have a vaguely recall ordering Lemon Curd Ginger Snap. What I do remember was the ice cream was delicious. If you visit The Garage Food Hall, save room for ice cream. You will not be disappointed!
Located in the Garage food hall, Lick boasts a mix of classic and unique flavors - if sweet corn is in season, you'll find it as an ice cream offering here and it's amazing! They also keep a few vegan flavors available (that aren't sorbet!! Think cookie butter and smores). That said, the cookie sandwich has my heart - get a scoop of your choice of ice cream between two cookies. Grab napkins, it will almost certainly get messy
Stopped by Lick and was so glad I did! The shop has a fun, modern vibe with a super friendly staff. Tried the chai ice cream at Lick and it was incredible! Super creamy with just the right amount of spice--cozy and refreshing at the same time. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to whenever I'm in Indy!
Best ice cream of your life. Find them inside The Garage Food Hall and fall in love with the most creative, local ice cream flavors, made with organic dairy. Sometimes it can be scary to order the "different" flavor at an ice cream shop, but that is not the case here. Every flavor I've ever tried is a total win, so it's never a risk. The only risk is not ordering enough. Or not ordering the flight (three beautiful scoops in a stunning tray with waffle cone chips) so that you can try three flavors at once. Other reasons why you'll love them: The owner is so nice, the branding is beautiful, there's always one or two vegan flavors available, you can buy pints to-go, and they also have a shop in SoBro if you have a sweet tooth while up north. Here's the flavors we tried this week: + Blueberry Sweet Corn Cookie (seasonal) + Apple Almond Torte (seasonal) + Vegan Cookie Butter (rotating) They were all total wins and my favorite was the blueberry sweet corn cookie. There were chunks of shortbread cookie that I'll think about for forever. LOL. I'll never forget the first time I tried LICK many years ago when they were in the CCIC building. I ordered a scoop of my go-to mint chocolate chip and couldn't even believe how much better it was than anything I'd ever tried. It was light, with flaky chocolate, and the best, most real flavor. They use organic dairy and high quality ingredients, and you'll immediately notice how much better it is than anything you've had before. Lick away!
LICK is located in The Garage Food Hall in Indianapolis! It was a great place to wander around to looks at the various food and shopping options AND get some tasty ice cream. Although there is seating on the inside like a food court, my friend and I opted to eat outside at the table and chairs around the perimeter of the food hall. Once I spied with my little eye that they had butter pecan ice cream. It was a done deal! There was a line, however, the wait was short with the employees working in tandem.
Top notch Ice cream. Hands down the best in Indy, they have unique but awesome flavors. They are a local small business bonus. I've never ever had a bad flavor there. I love they don't use artificial coloring. It truly is divine. Can't wait to see the next season of flavors. They ppl. Who work there are super nice and polite too. The blueberry and corn summer flavor is still on my mind months later. The Cherry ice cream last week was the best in town..
I went to visit Lick inside the garage hall. The service provider was so kind. Allowed me to sample many flavors & was great at recommending flavors based on my scent profile. I decided on the lavender lemon & it was so good and refreshing. Such a cute booth with beautiful wall art on walls.
Since the first time I tried the Coffee Chip Ice Cream cone on March 21, 2025, I was in love! The strong balance of coffee flavour and rich chocolate chips combined with a cinnamony, crunchy, waffle cone! Each time I visited the garage I peeked my head into line to see the options(realising the first time that the flavors were not the same every time). The workers would always greet me and smile kindly when I decided not to get anything. Then finally, yesterday, May 30th, I was finally able to reunite with my beloved coffee chip cone! The taste was exactly as I remembered and even better, creamier, the cone was crunchier, everything was perfect! One day I'll try a different flavour but as of now, I'm staying completely loyal to my coffee chip cone
Saw they got some unique flavors and we decided on a fruity one and another with alcohol. Both were tasty but not creamy. It's a small shop inside a food hall. Prices are higher since it's insiide the food hall. Staff was friendly and gave us samples before purchasing.
This is a great ice cream place in the Bottleworks Garage. They have some really unique flavors. The ice cream was perfect and the sever was quick and friendly. My only complain is that o wish there were more flavors. Check this place out for desert in the Bottleworks someday!
A bit high falutin for an ice cream joint, but definitely tasty. There are a lot of sweet treat options around the Garage and Mass Ave. And I don't think Lick would be my first stop. That said, their ice cream is great and the staff are very friendly. I especially appreciated their non-dairy options as I don't always handle dairy well and they seemed to do non-dairy better than most. Might be worth a visit.
Lick is another great stand inside the bottle works garage area. They carry around 10 flavors of ice cream that Change out frequently. They have flavors there that I've never thought of. Some with curry, some with floral flavors, Irish cream, and many other unique flavors. I like to get two scoops to try different ones. The only critique is that it can be a bit pricey, but considering the unique offerings and the quality, it's a fair price. I highly recommend coming here to enjoy a scoop on a date night or on your next mass Ave adventure. On a side note, they use plastic spoons made from plant fibers. They are super sturdy and I love them so much I actually use them for my camping utensils. read more

Great spot for ice cream Food: ordered the mocha cheesecake flavor after sampling a few different flavors. Great texture, creaminess, and chocolate chunks were a nice add. I didn't really get any cheesecake flavor from it though. Service: great service! Provided recomendations and allowed us to split a single scoop into two cups which was really nice. Also nice enough to let us sample a few before making a decision. Very fast ssrvice and friendly Price: decent price for scoop size and quality. Ambiance: this shop is inside the garage food hall market which is a really nice place to eat sit and enjoy various food options. It's a casual lively vibe with lots of chatter and movement. It was not crowded. Decor is really nice. read more

This place has great ice cream options. I was able to choose 2 flavors. Raspberry cheesecake and Buttercream Cookie. They are located in The Garage Food Hall and they are reasonably priced! read more
Love this little spot in the garage!! They offer so many unique flavors. If you're looking for the basics this is not the place, expect flavors like mulled spice, vegan options, cookie butter (base cashew) and so much more! I've enjoyed every flavor I've tried but I keep coming back for the vegan chocolate marshmallow (seems to always be on the menu and for that I thank you!). I can't resist :) read more

A great stop after we had lunch at The Garage. I had the vegan chocolate marshmallow which was delicious. It was made with coconut milk and had lots of cinnamon-y flavor. My friend had the ginger snap lemon curd and said it reminded her of Christmas. Lots of unique flavors to choose from. read more

Appreciate the support!
Whoa! I love this place. They have very unique flavored ice cream flavors that don't sound good but do (if that makes sense). I don't remember the flavor that I got nor my husband, (I think it was milk & honey) just know it was bomb. I want to highlight their waffle cone! OMG! You have to get their waffle cone. It's literally the best waffle cone I've ever tasted. I want to say it has a nice cinnamon-y flavor and was just so perfect. It's located inside the garage food hall with a bunch of different places to eat. They even have vegan ice cream! I definitely gave that extra star for creativity because who thinks to put Gorgonzola cheese in ice cream but make it taste good? read more

Thank you so much! The best compliments we get are the ones where…
It was delicious and easy to find! The parking situation was not a good one. No street parking- so the paid parking was more than the cost of the ice cream! But it was worth it because we loved the ice cream! We loved the whiskey flavor!! read more

Hi! If you are just running in to grab ice cream, the paid parking…
Where else have you seen ice cream flights??? I think that immediately gives them a 5 star rating personally. They also have the most unique ice cream flavors. The ones I most recently tried were vegan cookie butter, champagne & berries, and coffee chip. They were all DELISH, but champagne & berries was top tier. It tasted like a sorbet and vanilla ice cream combined - for sure one of the best ice creams I've ever had! read more
Small batch ice cream in unique flavors. We sampled a few flavors and then ordered cranberry shortbread, pumpkin spice oat crumble, and spiced apple butter. The Gorgonzola candied pecan was like a rich and strongly flavored cheesecake, unique and excellent! All were delicious and the server helpfully answered our questions about the various flavors. read more
Easiest ice cream win I've ever been! Tiny bit inside The Garage, serving up incredible unreal blends that defy all expected dairy addicts. I wanted to sample everything but controlled myself to the mascarpone, that's right, cheese royalty in the frozen custard! A sure sweet trip worthy of crowns however tho it was refined I panicked and did the safer bet of rose pistachio brittle stuff. Was hugely perfect, my sister had the vegan chocolate marshmallow which was also plenty righteous. This is now an obvious must get to for all appetites. read more
Lots of unique ice cream flavors! I had the lemon lavender- the lemon was definitely the most prominent flavor with just hints or the lavender. Ice cream was so creamy and great quality. Will have to go back to try some others as flavors change depending on season! read more

Yummy animal free ice cream and allergy friendly! Emailed for ingredients and provided prompt replies and in a manner that I felt comfortable purchasing the nut free vegan chocolate marshmallow. Flavorful and texture on point. Ate indoors the Garage and a bit loud for us. read more
I'm so happy they have a location at the Garage Food Hall! Who doesn't want some ice cream after lunch? I had a small lemon curd and gingersnap in a waffle cone and it was delicious. The lemon curd ice cream was flavored beautifully and the chunks of gingersnap were delicious. I really loved this combination. The waffle cone was fresh and crisp. No, this isn't the cheapest ice cream in town, but compare it to $10 restaurant desserts and it's a great deal. This ice cream is worth it! I can't wait to try more flavors. read more

After several years of being hard to find unless you frequent Farmers Markets or the Circle City Industrial Complex, it's nice to see the sisters behind the delicious ice cream company Lick land a spot in the new Bottleworks Garage. All the same flavors and all the things you like about the ice cream itself, but now located where you can grab a meal from one of the other vendors in the garage. All the ice cream is made completely free of artificial ingredients, even food coloring. So, not as wide a range of colors, but pure, fresh flavor all the same. Although the production part of the business is likely to stay at the previous location at the CCIC, a new, more accessible store front went into the Bottleworks Garage (Just north of 9th Street). I ordered a small bowl of champagne cherry ice cream and was thrilled with the flavor! Make this a must visit place when you visit the Garage. p.s. I can't resist throwing in that the business got started when one of the sisters got an ice cream maker for a wedding gift....Now that was a useful gift put to good use! Rev #57 read more

Yum! This location is part of the new Garage at Bottleworks, which is basically a big food court. Lick, as far as I could tell, was the only dessert option available but it definitely didn't disappoint! I couldn't decide on one flavor, so I went with two--orange chocolate and a mint chip. Both were wonderful! They have some signature flavors that are always around as well as others that rotate. read more

This is so dangerous inside of The Garage Food Hall... how can you walk out without getting this? They have some interesting flavor combinations, which I do want to be more adventurous on my next scoop. I got the Brown Butter Cookie Dough, and wow. This is not your regular type of cookie dough. There are some good sized chunks, and the chocolate in the cookie dough was with shaved/thin chocolate - which I loved. The only thing I have to say, selfishly, is that I wish there were more chunks! The Spiced Vegan Chocolate Marshmallow that my boyfriend got was pretty good. I couldn't tell it was vegan. I stole a few bites, but I was happy with my cookie dough :). It was getting a little crowded for our liking when we got our ice-cream, so we headed outside (so, sorry for the dark parking lot pictures). read more

The most delicious waffle I've ever had! You can see the workers make them fresh right in front of you, and they have a wonderful cinnamon tastes to them. I tried the Coffee Chip and Brown Butter Cookie Dough flavors. The coffee flavor was my favorite of the two. The coffee flavor was perfectly balanced. The two women working at Lick were very friendly, and I was able to try samples before picking my flavors. I can't wait to get the ginger snap lemon curd next time! read more
I look forward to Lick ice cream every time I'm visiting Indy! I remember the first time I had Lick when I used to live in Indy - it was just a small ice cream cart in a little shop on the east side. I love to see their growth every time I'm back. They even have a Broad Ripple location now! I particularly enjoy Lick because they have wonderful vegan ice cream. I got the vegan chocolate marshmallow in a small cup, and this was not the first time I've tried it. So delicious. My dad got the dark chocolate peppermint in a cone and enjoyed his too. While I rave about Lick because of the vegan options, my friends/family who have tried it have also loved it. This location maybe had 8-10 options and rotate over time. They do allow samples. Quick service. It is a bit pricey but well worth it for the great quality ice cream! read more

I appreciate your kind words! Thanks for supporting us.
LICK has a variety of options of ice cream that you can't find anywhere else in the city. I sampled the salted caramel sage which was delicious in q small portion but a little too rich for me to have a whole serving. I opted for the strawberry cheesecake in a waffle cone which I can guarantee you is like eating an actual piece of cheesecake. My husband ordered a small bowl of the amaretto chocolate cherry which was also rich and delicious. Not to mention, it's located in one of the coolest new buildings in the city right along Mass Ave! read more

Lick at The Garage is great! Staff was friendly and they had a nice assortment of ice cream. I had the champagne and berries ice cream, which to me tasted like vanilla and berries. I'll skip that flavor in the future for something more interesting. Overall great though, and they have a good spot in the hall. read more
I've tried Lick icecream three times (and sampled most flavors) and every time I've left disappointed. Pros: The texture of their icecream is FANTASTIC, and it's in a good location. Cons: The flavors seem to have creativity without refinement. I'm always intrigued by the flavor profiles but they never seem to hit the right balance that is required when you're playing with flavors across the spectrum of taste. The past two experiences were off with customer service as well, with the two people lacking enthusiasm for the job. I'm sure working at the Garage can be busy and overwhelming with so many visitors coming and going, but I would love just a bit more warmth in their service. Verdict: I'm hopefully they'll nail this, so I'll be back in a few months to try again. read more

I Normally love this place, I have been here several times over the last few months. Usually indulging in their Vegan chocolate marshmallow ice cream... vegan options are so rare in Indianapolis. Today, I finally brought my family to the Bottle Works with me. We had such amazing food everywhere else. Unfortunately, when I went up to the counter and bought three 1/2 pints (each of which being less then their "two scoops" option) I got one wrong. I'm not sure which of us made the flavor mistake to be honest. Bottle Works is loud and incredibly busy. I took my daughter back up to the counter to see what our options were for switching her ice cream to the one she wanted.... NO OPTIONS ????? Yep, that was the response folks! Buy more, or go away!!! Yikes, feeling really bad about giving my money that I work so hard for to these people. We are not rich, we just paid over 18 dollars for three scoops of ice cream... and one went in the trash can? My husband would not eat it either due to its flavor. I'm feeling just terrible. I didn't want to leave a star at all and I won't make the mistake of spending my money here again. read more

Wow, I am so incredibly sorry you had this experience. We absolutely…
I was really excited to try this ice cream shop, as I love the location inside the garage food hall. Lick has some unique flavors. My first bite was filled with ice crystals. The ice cream case was about half full, and the flavor I selected was getting close to the bottom of the container. As I kept eating, each bite was filled with tons of ice crystals. The flavor was good, but I couldn't get past the texture with the ice. read more
