So many chances. The quality service that they strive for has gone done in recent visits. Mindy and V are great! My last few experiences have just been blah with the last visit on 9/21 as my last. While getting a pedicure by Steve, I noticed that V was in the shop(was in back) when I mentioned that I didn't realize she was there the nail tech says, yes she's here... gives here schedule and ask you want her to do you nails? If so I don't care! Go ask her. I mentioned to him that I wasn't sure and was on a tight schedule and he mistook what I was saying and some how thought I said she was crying. I chalked it up as a language barrier and moved on. he proceeded to carry on for a good 10 minutes about why was she crying at work. And whenever I would say I never said that he would continue making these snarky comments. I had to lean into him and tell him I think you have a mistaken what I said because I never said she was crying at work. He then proceeded to say oh OK do you want me to do your nails? At this point I'm ready to go but need my nails done. He does an ok job on the shape, but a week later and my gel nails need to be redone. Paint uneven and faded in certain places. I've read reviews of the new male techs and their in professional tempers, but experienced it first hand. IM DONE! I also don't like this new policy of pressuring you to pay cash. After patronizing this shop for about 4 years, I hate I have to even write this review. However, I will because I would not wish any person, especially a woman to be treated this way. Our nail budgets are too high to spend money at a place where you're not valued as a customer. I went on Labor Day and I didn't have an appointment so I waited instead of normally being ushered to my regular folks. I had a pedi which was lovely and then instead of waiting for my normal girl Mindy, I elected to see first available because I'm 5 months pregnant and the nail shop fumes can sometimes be too much, even double masked. I was sat down at the chair of a young looking Asian man. When we got to the nail shape and he asked me what shape. I showed him a picture of a very narrow pointed stiletto nail. From here I will just number how everything went wrong from there. 1. He made an off colored joke and said, "Oh stiletHO" and he laughed. I didn't not laugh. I just repeated what I said, "No, I said stiletTO" and he said he was "just joking" 2. The shape was NOT good. He did later admit that he had not yet perfected his stiletto shape and said he would fix it. After a couple of tries, I just elected to move past the shape because it wasn't getting to where I needed it to be and I wanted to move along. However, due to the shape not being very precise, I had to change my design thoughts because I was going to do some abstract spacing things that I needed a good shape for. 3. I move to just doing a pink ombre hand from dark to light and he handed me colors and was getting visibly frustrated as I struggled to find the right selection of pinks. HOWEVER, he also did nothing to help me along. Infact, he took 2 smoke breaks while I was looking. When I asked him for colors, he could not find them and brought back colors I didn't ask for that didn't fit the right shades of pink I had already chosen. Any person who know pinks, knows that there are some pinky pinks, peachy pinks, white-ish pinks, etc. So, not all pinks go together. He leaves AGAIN, on a break and seems visibly frustrated and this turns me off so I choose 2 colors to simplify things. 4. He returns and without even talking he starts moving all the colors away and tells me what we are about to do....I say, no I'm just doing these two colors and that will make it easy. He says no no no, we will just start with the colors u have and figure out the other later. I say, no thanks to that idea because I don't want to be stuck with something that doesn't look right. I say, lets just do the 2 colors I've chosen before I get annoyed. He pushed back on his little roller chair and says, "ANNOYED, I'm the one who should be annoyed" and I honestly GASP, and say "excuse me?" and he says, "i've been very patient with u today!" and I stand up and say, "you're going to need to stop talking to me crazy" and he says, "well, if you wasn't acting crazy, I wouldn't be talking to you crazy" and I say, "well honestly, I'm the one who has been patient. You couldn't do my shape right, you keep taking smoke breaks, you're not being helpful and now you're telling me u should be annoyed and calling me crazy for expecting good results when I'm paying good money. I continue on, sir, it's literally your job to help the customer leave with good looking nails. He says, "it's not my job to help u find colors" and i'm like, but u work in a nailshop that is definitely part of your job. Most nail techs worth anything see the picture of inspiration and take it from there. and he says, "i'm a guy" and I'm like well, if u feel that way about it. Maybe you shouldn't be working in a nail shop. 5. And to honestly stop from crying I walk out to get air, because that entire scene everybody just watched and NO ONE intervened. Not the owner, KING. Not "my girl" Mindy. and I felt just so verbally assaulted. A customer should NEVER be spoke to this way. 6. When I walk outside, he chases me down and says, you're not leaving, you gonna pay for those services and mind u, I'm lowkey dripping so skipping on paying for services rendered is literally something I'm not even thinking about. But I'm offended none the less. He continues to yell at me saying, I'm gonna clip those nails off and I'm like do it then! because they are wrong anyways! 7. I go back in and THAT is when King finally tries to intervene and tells me to let someone else do it. I say I'm ready to go and after saying that a few times, I pay and I tip the pedi lady, WELL might I add. 8. As I leave I realize, I would like to write a review so I go back in. I ask those working there for the guys name and they ALL tell me to ask King. King also wouldn't give me the name. Ultimately, I do allow them to fix my nails for free. and King offered me a $10 gift card next time I come back. But I won't be back because I felt disrespected, my experience was trivialized and not even giving me the name was a slap in the face. Don't spend your money here. read more

So just a follow up on a previous post. I only thought about it when my friend had a terrible experience here recently. Service really depends on the day, but one thing I will say is that after leaving my review, which was negative because of my experience. I received this message from the OWNER. I'm not super picky, my nails were damaged yes but I left with them way worse than I came in. I also tried to talk to the nail tech who was doing my nails, but he had his AirPods in the whole time which I found to be really rude. I really did try to tell him what I was going for and showed reference photos as well. I have never been an aggressive or angry person, but this experience was absolutely awful:( This was what the owner sent me after my review. Like if it was my business I would apologize for inconvenience and ask what needs to be changed. Here is what the owner sent. Found this place on Google and decided to take my mom during the weekend. There was a bit of a wait when we got there but the manager kept us in the loop and made sure we were comfortable. My mom is a very impatient person and I should've booked an appointment ahead of time since they were very busy. We weren't sure if they are normally this busy or whether they are short on staff. However, once it was my moms turn, all I can say is that the wait was well worth it. My mom had nothing but good things to say about her entire experience. It's hard to find a place that accommodates and make my mom feel relaxed. Staff was friendly and conversational! Despite it being busy, they weren't rushing and made sure she had the best experience. My mom is definitely hooked and will be returning for her monthly relaxation! I would suggest calling and book an appointment! Ask for Mindy, she's a sweetheart and is very talented. read more

If you love getting your nails done you have to come to Libra!!! Mindy is the absolute best and I am so glad I found her!! Prices are pretty regular in comparison to other salons. I get a regular pedicure and a full set of acrylics with design about once a month and pay around $80! Everyone in the salon is super friendly and makes it a fun experience every time I come in, very family oriented! Mindy cares so much about shaping the nails and the detail to design which I love! I work almost everyday and Mindy has even has offered to come in on her days off just so she can do my nails! My daughter received a gel manicure, and I received a fill in, gel polish, and a polish change on my toes. I was pleased with the service we received and went back on Thursday 2/17/22. This time my daughter received a gel polish change, and I received a fill in, gel, polish, and pedicure. The nail technian nicked my foot with the Cheese Grater during the pedicure, I advised him of what happened and he put some sort of cream on it. As the days went by the nick wasn't healing so I went to Urgent Care for treatment. The Physician diagnosed me with Cellulitis of the left foot (a bacterial infection). I didn't want to leave a negative review I hoped of speaking with the owner to make him aware of what happened to me. So armed with my discharge papers I went to Libra Nails and Spa to advice them of what occurred, and the treatment that I received was not what I expected. I spoke with King, the owner who said he's the manager, he was NOT APOLOGETIC, COMPASSIONATE, OR UNDERSTANDING. I showed him my injury a d he said it's not infected. He drove home the fact that he was sure that I wanted something from him (financial) and to go through his insurance. He told me that this happens all of the time every where. Honestly, I only wanted him to be cognizant of what happened to me so that maybe he and his staff could implement better sterilization practices. After the unsolicited treatment that I received, I felt compelled to write a review. Additionally, I will be filing a complaint with the Maryland Board of Cosmetology. read more

THEE WORST! HORRIBLE! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Overpriced and despicable service. I went in for a Mani + Pedi and was literally in there for an hour and half and I was the only person in there. A lady came in after me and got the same treatment and was in and out before me. Im a walk-in and the put the trainee on me instead of having her watch them do my feet. (Probably because I was black and so was she) And, then I was getting the sports pedicure and I didn't get the wax, the scrub or the callus remover she only took 5$ off instead of just charging me for the regular. It was an entire mess. Worst nail "spa" that I have ever experienced. I'll never go to place EVER AGAIN. My face the entire time was displeased and none of the other tech, owner or anyone else decided to assist the trainee. And, it's not her fault but I'm not happy with the service. I know everyone has to start somewhere but not on my feet. JUST HORRIBLE!! I still have hangnail and my feet aren't done properly. I took my Aunt here to get two fingernails and two toenails repaired and a polish change on her feet. I sat there and watch her explain very clearly to two different people exactly what she wanted and they said they could do it and it would be about $20. He did as directed to her feet but ended up taking ALL of her polish off of every nail. He kept saying he needed to, but that's not what she asked for. She just wanted a repair and polish on 2 nails! He didn't even finish on her nails and had us waiting for nearly 2 hours. We got sick of waiting and she left with bare nails...and then we were charged close to $60! Completely unbelievable. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! They popped off my old acrylics instead of soaking them off to speed up the process which was very painful. My nail tech saw the discomfort in my face and proceeded to pop them off anyways. I will never visit this salon again because I'd rather not pay for painful nail service. Now this is a place I have been going to since I moved to Maryland. These people are the nicest nail techs I have ever met. The service is A1 they remember you I mean they really make u feel welcome. They take care of you make sure u don't feel like just another dollar, they have fun and it doesn't feel like your topical nail salon. The 3 stars. I would give 5 but this has happened more than once Okay, so one thing I can't deal with is the over booking. I saw this on the reviews but I thought it was a mistake. COVID mistake but then by my 2nd appointment I started getting double booked. I low key didn't mind Bc I was going on my off days But this one day I called last min. It was my fault and not my fault. I like the nail tech Mindy ( I think that's how u spell it) so I called king the manager and asked if she was available he said yes if u come right now. I rushed there. I got there she's doing someone nails. . Okay they start taking the old ones off and I'm like please don't put me in someone else's chair. They didn't but my problem is they had a lady sitting right next to me just sitting there waiting and minding my business. I saw her rushing my nails I started getting irritated Bc Ik she was rushing to get to her. my nails are all over the place shape is off everything. Now like I said I have been going to these people so Ik her work. I was on the phone with my BFF and I'm trying to keep my cool Bc I was there and I wasn't supposed to be and on top of that my nails look crazy. So I'm telling MY BFF what's wrong. When I first sat down I wasn't too satisfied for my own reasons but turns out I like the salon it is a very good nail salon. The employees show great hospitality and care. Initially I was skeptical about getting my eyebrows done because I only go to one person however, I gave Mindy a try and she did a wonderful job on both my eyebrows and nails. I started going here in the summer of 2018. The staff was really nice and jack used to do my nails and i never had complaints. For my last 2 visits jack wasn't there and they seem short of staff every time I go in now. My last visit I had an older man work on my nails, I asked for a fill in and black polish. As the man was doing my fill in he kept nipping at my skin with the drill which I made him aware of. He also got product under my nails which burned so I was in extreme discomfort and pain but I said I'll suck through it. It was time to start my polish and I noticed he had the dryer for gel polish out and I had to inform him that I didn't ask for gel. That is my main problem with this place, every time I come in I have to explain why I don't want gel, they continuously try to force gel polish onto customers I understand that it dries quicker but it is also way more expensive. I come to this shop regularly and never get gel. I feel like they tried to trick me into getting gel polish by deciding to not even ask me if that's what i wanted. If I didn't speak up for myself he would have put gel on my nails and tried to up charge me. After I told him I wanted regular he told me my bill was $23 so I picked up a pamphlet and told him no fill in is $18 he then proceeded to tell me that since he took off gel polish it was a $5 fee. This is a lie because I never had gel from the start and from my knowledge you have to soak off gel, I never had my nails soaked. At this point I was frustrated because I felt like they were playing with my money and intelligence. They then asked me to pay up front which I usually have no problem with because I don't want to mess up my nails but I felt like they only asked this time because they felt as if I wasn't going to pay.
