It had been a long day. I saw Louie's on my go to list, so we gave it a try. We met some nice…read morepeople and had some good Cheeesteak conversation. We got the Lewie. It comes with cheese sauce. It is very tasty. It's very soft. It has a soft roll, the meat is tender and juicy, and the cheese sauce is velvety. It comes with chips which add a nice crunch. Nice lively crowd.

Outstanding experience. (Hope this review makes up for minor squabbles about Gracie's, which I too…read morelove!) Located a bit out of the way in the Flying Hills golf course, but worth the drive. Sports bar- Eagles vibe w/ a decent draft list. The kegs weren't working (seems to happen at every bar we attend these days) but still enjoyed a Mike & Merrill Philly Hazy IPA. Wings a good size, crisp, you know, the way wings used to be before everyone started charging an arm & a leg & serving broken pigeon wings. Classic "Buffalo" sauce & blue cheese dressing were good. FINALLY tried famous Caramel Burger (which I missed several times at the Hamburger festival). It did not disappoint. Good size, flavorful patty, & what these people do best- the bacon jam & caramelized bacon. The sweetness of the onions sings thru. Order it! Husband ordered seasonal special Frikadellen/Bratwurst Smash Burger. Skipping right to it- the cottage fries. (Gracie's/Louie's if you had this all the time we'd have no beef! LOL) INCREDIBLE! Crisp, thin, tender, amazing. If you follow me you know I am over the frozen fries served at every eatery in this country. Finally, amazingly pleasant, genuinely happy, server- Reese. She was on my side throughout this whole foodie journey, even the beer & burger mishap (initially burger served w/o cheese sauce). She's a keeper! We'll be back & will spread the word! Till then, stay on your toes! Thank you Louie's for a great meal.

The drinks are served up strong and service by our server tonight, Grace, was very attentive. Every time we come here we order the crispy potstickers appetizer and we agreed that their fried pickles are the best we've had anywhere. The dill dipping sauce that comes with the fried pickles is the bomb. My husband loves burgers and it's not always easy to find places that actually serve great burgers, but tonight he said "this is delicious!" Our server, Grace, was friendly, helpful and paid attention to the right time when to offer another drink or see if we want anything else. The music playing is a mix of genres so there's something for everyone and we enjoy it. They play it at the perfect volume. Loud enough to hear it well but not so loud that we can't hear each other talk. And, the outdoor patio seating is dog friendly! Reading some of the other reviews, I am baffled that people are leaving three and four stars when they have nothing but raving positive things to say (awesome, fantastic, etc) about the food, drinks, ambiance and service. That makes a place worthy of a five star review. Do yourself a favor and visit the Liberty Taproom!

For the past 30 or so years, "the Spruce," or I guess what I should refer to as the essence of the…read moreSpruce, has retained its neighborhood charm and still provides a fun, casual night out during the week and more lively, raucous entertainment on the weekends. There are two floors, with the bottom being the main dining/bar area with the upstairs being a small bar to go along with a lounge area that can be setup to be a dance floor or band stage. Very versatile setup that can handle a variety of gatherings. There is a side room on the first floor that can be closed off, perfect for small work parties or private events. The qualify of food is quite good under the current ownership. I remember being there for brunch when the chef walked by, said hello, and asked how the everything was. Very friendly guy with an obvious passion for what he's doing. The staff in general looks like it gels together really well. The bartenders in particular, especially on moderately busy nights such as trivia night (Tuesdays), are kind and attentive. Despite being located in a dense residential neighborhood, parking isn't too tricky with a generously sized private lot directly across the street. Under new ownership (the team behind Reading's long-revered Ugly Oyster Drafthaus), it's nice to see the Spruce continue to flourish as it had for decades prior, as sort of a heartbeat of the community.

The waitress was nice as we spoke more with her - friendliness, charm and a smile go a long way. Now the food, we ordered some neat drinks, beers and soft drinks. We had the hummus with pita, the wings, fries and the Bavarian pretzel. Everything was good but the cheese for the pretzel needs to go. I didn't even tried it because it didn't look appealing. I would go again - only if in the area. I will say this - the club music track was amazing!!
